I like the Dacia sandero I don’t like automatics I wish mg had brought out a manual greetings from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 the mg3 is too expensive for me I afraid
The Manual all petrol version will be released later in the year, will be interesting to see how cheaper this will be. The Dacia Samdero looks a very comfortable car
I had only just renewed my policy on my old car Hyundai i10 (which I presume is in a much lower insurance group) that was £420, to insure this with another insurance company, as mine wouldn't cover was £620
If it's anything to go by previous mg3 models the reliability won't be great and some parts are silly expensive. Don't mean to appear negative it's just from experience. I really like this model to be fair.
It's my first time with an MG3 so let's hope they have put all the experience gained into this newer model. So far it's returning good economy and it's been very comfortable to drive. But I do agree with your thoughts on the previous models. They were good value for some.
@@thechatterguys yes they do seem to be getting better and better to be fair. I think these new ones will be very popular if the reliability stacks up.
The thing to watch with any MG is the build quality and transmission, this includes the gearbox and clutch, which can sometimes fail. Also, this can add to the poor MPG spec of the car. This is why normally MGS can be cheap on insurance as their parts are based on older technology which is cheap to fix but not for the consumer. Apart from the above, they look great and can be packed full of tech. The trims are higher spec than the European manufacturers too.
Anything German really the quality is just better. I work for a company which deals with ex motability cars alot of them are MGs mostly ZS and HS suvs the interior quality after 2 or 3 years of use doesn't hold up well. But my biggest annoyance with MG is the lack of rust protection underneath on the chassis they rust around the welds. I would definitely recommend getting it protected if you are keeping the car any length of time.
@@interceptor-ss8kb Well it is a cheap car so the interior is usually the place they can save the most money as a manufacturer. What's the closest German car size and performance wise? Polo GTI DSG but you would expect it to be a much better car as it costs 50% more.
No complains from me on the comfort of the car, a long jounry was very comfortable and the tech compliments the driving but doesn't take the comfort out of it either
MG's are great cars its such a pity the MG3 didnt come with a smaller petrol engine and a 20kwh battery. Then it would be truly as hybrid. If it could do 50 miles on electric it would be perfect
I am really enjoying the driving experience. If it was a bigger battery would it have needed to be plugged in? I couldn't be doing with that. I'll be filming my thoughts soon on my first 1k miles

Thanks in advance and I'll stay connected !!!
Thank you for your comment and the video link, I found the comparison very subjective. Comparing manual transmission to automatic and expecting similar results is bonkers. I had 65mpg on a recent 165 mile jounrey. They also said the cabin noise was loud on the mg but failed to mention noise from the swift. The only real fault they found with the mg was the adjustable seat and lack of split fold on the back seat, which is not a problem for me. I found the review favoured the swift too heavily. I hope to have another upload shortly. 🇮🇹🚘

@@thechatterguys thanks for that information guys it’s very much appreciated that’s two to choose from the sandero or the petrol MG3
Ah, actually thought you did fine if it's your first car vlog. Just looked at the What Car MG3 review and yours compared well, clearly vfm 🎉
Thank you, our normal vlogs will be forthcoming 🤣
How much was the insurance. A ball park figure anybody know.
I had only just renewed my policy on my old car Hyundai i10 (which I presume is in a much lower insurance group) that was £420, to insure this with another insurance company, as mine wouldn't cover was £620
@@thechatterguys Thanks
👍
Nice motor
Thank you! 👍
Not related to the original MG3 any any way
Disappointing to say the least, If you don't know what's going on try asking the dealer before you embarrass yourselves further.
Thanks for your comment 👍 I'll try better next time
The thing to watch with any MG is the build quality and transmission, this includes the gearbox and clutch, which can sometimes fail.
Thanks for your comment, I will keep this in mind. It's definitely got a lot of tech for your money
Nothing old technology on any modern model
Lickle adapter
Thank you for your comment 👍
How can the garage tell you it's got a good resale value utter bollox it'll be far worse than any European car MG is renowned for depreciation 😊
Thanks for your comment 👍 it's far cheaper than any other European car, so I'll take the drop on depreciation
Couldn't live with that interior it looks typically cheap MG quality.
Thanks do you comment, but it's a lot better than my old hyundai 68 i10, what are you comparing this to?
Thank you. I will look into that.
Hi Colin e thanks for your rewiew: I'll look forward further another videos about it. I'm an italina guy e I'm intrested with this new MG3 hybrid. Can I ask you your opinion about this What Car? video ua-cam.com/video/KkH6f47T1KY/v-deo.html . they compared MG3 and new suzuky swift. Mg3 came out like loser.
It's not an MG whatever the reviews says. Its still a chinese cheaply built car as an ex MG owner It's an insult get rid 😊
Thanks for your comment, but I'll be keeping, vs my last Hyundai it's built a lot better
A very expensive Chinese takeaway
Thank you for your comment, Philip. We would be fascinated to hear about your experience with the MG3 🚗
Not take away . What is in uk what is in china ?..
