5:50 the transition from “I just hope it’s longer than 5 minutes” to “FIVE MINUTES” was brilliant 😂
This feels like a celebration of how Hollywood Studios went from hero to zero
That “celebration” just seemed like a business pitch and a lecture. Boring.
Agreed! It also seemed kind-of repetitive too.
Your honesty towards these parks is always so refreshing. You’re a real one
Exactly! It’s nice to have someone who isn’t afraid to be honest about their experience. Because it’s hard to tell what is good and what isn’t when all the Disney influencers simp for Disney and scramble to defend them all the time.
Disney: "Remember when we did this? Yeah, those were the good Old days...Happy 35th Anniversary" 🙃
Kind of weird that the ambassador highlighted rock’n rollercoaster when it’s closed.
And mentioned Aerosmith when it’s changing to queen lol
@@billy2866They are so stuck in the past they can’t even tell what’s open anymore. Next they will try to ride Horizons
Launch bay just seems dead. An attraction that doesn’t seem to have any reason to be there
Disneyland feels like an actual experience, while DisneyWorld feels like Disney Presents Outdoor Mall of America.
You're not wrong. It's always why I have perfered Disneyland.
It seems that no matter what Disney management does, families and life long fans will keep lining up.
It's like that 35th anniversary show. It may have had some entertainment at one point, but it didn't take long for accountants and management teams to water it down to a Walmart store grand opening.
They have been banking hard on nostalgia and it seems the families are finally starting to crack as well as pretty much anyone that is not a DINK Disney Adult couple are starting to balk at prices. If universal is able to do well with their new park and offer it at a better price point then Disney might struggle for a few years
Very odd they would treat a celebration like a Ted talk
wow there special show was 6 pieces of painted cardboard, 2 puppets, and a couple of paid Disney Cheerleaders.
Hey don’t you insult them! They paid for the outfits from the Thrift Costume Store to!
Hot take: Universal’s 60th anniversary for the Studio Tour had a better anniversary celebration than the 35th anniversary of Disneys Hollywood Studios
How dare they sully Kermit's good name by associating him with this budget cut bonanza. The contempt of the working class and fans on full display.
Disney cares about you only if you can fork over 980$ a night or more to stay in a hotel room.
The trained seals going "Woo!" in the audience and buying all the ugly merch because it was "exclusive" is a big part of why they don't go the extra mile anymore. Because they can give the most minor effort but put the logo on it and those folks will just lap it up.
The merch wasn't that bad, but I do see your point
Exactly, that’s why we got the awful avengers campus here in California. They haven’t even started on the avengers e ticket they have been promising us for 4+ years. It’s so disappointing : (
@@dayoldbread1696 avengers campus is not that bad. Sorry that you don't like it
@@kassinwonderland22 thanks but I have nothing against people who do like it. I just am saying I personally was disappointed by it. Mainly because the spider man ride and Dr strange show are so bad, the land is very small, and they haven’t even started construction on the avengers e ticket that they have been promising us for 4+ years
@@kassinwonderland22 That's your opinion, not theirs.
Disney learned many moons ago . That no matter how much they suck or how expensive they may get ? The people will still come in droves .
“All of these attractions are entertaining our guests today” ….. but Rock n Rollercoaster is closed? 🤔
Thank you for not being afraid to PAY THE CASTMEMBERS WHAT THEY DESERVE! You're the best Kevin
Charge you more, give you less….The Iger Disney Model
“I can’t wait to see what this park has to offer for the next 35 years” What 2 new rides and a paint job or two?
Such a shame. It used to be such a cool park, and now, not so much. Still hasn't rebounded from COVID. Won't be going back for a very very long time.
I had to fast forward through the Ambassador cringe. It's way beyond a parody of itself.
18:07 oh! that’s not… I hope that’s not true 😭
It's just a rumor but we've been hearing rumors about new things coming to rockin for years and nothing happens
I wouldn't be surprised lol
It would be so smart for Disney. Think about the money they would make. I would be all for it if they put the money back into the park… we know that won’t happen
@@megan7792it will disappear directly into the black hole that is stock owners dividends and executive bonuses
watching this video makes me realize how HS used to be, I remember as a kid there was more entertainment during the day and it just felt more lively. I think they maybe could add another muppets attraction or a parade like they once had or reconstruct launch bay entirely, just something :(
What are your thoughts about Hollywood Studios in 2024?
Amazing.
I agree with you, dude. So much good has gone away from DW parks. They need a shift in focus. Pay the cast proper, maintenance and QA/QC of the existing parks and resorts. Let's fix and PLUS the existing parks before we start talking about a 5th park. The sheer amount of IP they have their finger on is insane and the lack of output into the parks is mind-boggling.
They copied from Universal, I think Universal Orlando is the better "Hollywood" park.
That beginning brought nostalgia and kinda made me wanna cry. Things and people were just so amazing back then😢
Kevin , I always appreciate how you see right thru all of their corporate GARBAGE ! Keep it up man
The worst high school assembly I’ve ever seen..I would be angry if I wasted my time watching that IRL
You right it did give off high school assembly vibes!
I have a feeling Disney is going to take a major hit after Epic Universe opens.
It will
Why do people keep going if it's like this...? I don't get it. Like, I could understand if they really pulled out all the stops like they used to but now? I'd go for like half the price they ask for.
I was a season pass holder for many years in California and Florida. Had the Passport Pass for all US parks at once. I won't go back until they get it together. It is not acceptable now!
Thank you for advocating for cast members!
Does/has Disney ever given their employees a bonus or a raise due to them getting multiple cast compliments or something? Anything? Highly doubt it
Hollywood Studios looks like a liminal space
Would you suggest additions to Hollywood studios? If so what would you like more rides at Toy Story land , Star Wars, ?
more stars wars and a Pixar land
Wow, the state of this park and all of WDW resort is embarrassing and pathetic.
I'm watching this on a Disney cruise sailing to WDW. Thanks for a fun video as always.
It’s really crazy how much is still closed at HS considering the amount ppl pay to visit. So.much.dead.space. Launch bay was always so great. 😔
They only had 32 cast members that have been there since day 1 present at this event? 🤔 Seems like a miss for Disney to not have 35 cast members there 🤨
They probably couldn’t get 35. I doubt that many would want to come back
Looks like a group of college students that woke up and said, "shit is that today." The entire event was pitiful. Nothing more nauseating than listening to people thank themselves. YUCK
“And we would like to thank you all for allowing us to have multimillion dollar bonuses for sitting in our AC Offices and thanks to us you can afford to barely put food on the table.”
Losing the great movie ride was the thematic death of HS. It lost its soul that day. And its replacement is sub par at best. It's an incoherent, mostly closed, half empty park. I still love going to the Sci-Fi Dine In, Muppet Vision 3-D, etc., but that's all pure nostalgia. If I wasn't an AP I'd never pay what they're charging to go to HS for a day. And man was that 35th lame. Lamer than Epcot's.... and I waited in line that day for merch! Love your channel buddy. Pay the CMs, Disney! WDW is a mess right now lol
But disney can’t pay their employees! How else will the execs be able to afford their yachts???? Won’t someone think of the millionaire bonuses!
Great talking to you yesterday, Kevin. Beware of the ever growing catalog of RSVLTS 👀
2:44 Just another reason why I truly enjoy your videos👍🏼Thanks for an amazing nugget of info!
Love how real you are and not fake like the other contend creators …keep up the fantastic work
Also why does this feel like a forced work event for the guests lmaoooooooo
I probably visited the Jawas every time I was in HS during my DCP 😭😭 I miss them so much
I loved the random stuff they would trade you
I just want to drop a nugget of info - the "EMBASSADOR" for Hollywood Studios is in her 20's. What a freaking LAUGH. She was a zygote at the time of MGM and I'm not sorry to say, those who do not understand or have lived the legacy of these parks should be NOWHERE near running it.
forgot to include osborne family lights bein cut
Why is there so much cancelled or closed shops/areas in Disneys Hollywood Studios? It looks like maybe they are trying to save money. I think if I went on holiday here in the future this would be one place I would avoid. Does not seem worth the price of a ticket. ☹️ Thank you for sharing. 😊
I listen for the hooteraid every video! 😂 always makes me laugh!
Not a lot of rehearsal time I see….
2 weeks earlier . . .
“Just have em wave their batons around”
“We can’t pay for actual training! What do you think this is? A quality product??”
When I lived in Orlando (2000-2002), I would spend 5 of 7 days a week at Hollywood studios. Now I just go maybe once every couple of years to ride tower of terror.
Hollywood Studios is easily the best park in WDW because of lands and rides. It's crazy Disney didn't do something special for the 35th. When UO is dropping a new Parade, Night time show with drones and Dream works land in USF alone.
I went WDW August of 2023 for the first time since 2010. I enjoyed myself overall, but dang now I know why Hollywood Studios was my least favorite park. 😅😳
But they still charge an outrageous entry fee.
Does that family still have the lifetime pass?
I’ve walked to toy story, but never wrote on any of the rides. The Star Wars world wasn’t open when I went. I was upset because they keep on Shutting off the Muppets at like three or 4 o’clock. 😢 thank you
The animation attraction was one of our favorites!!
Blown away they wont do more with the muppet IP
Is the rule that every 5 years is celebrated?
yupp
Now I know what the “Do not open until May 1, 2029” photo means. 😂
I'm so glad i didn't get in that line for the celebration ceremony 😅 thanks for sharing what I missed 🫠
just got back and we skipped hollywood studios altogether this trip....
Watching this and seeing everything that is still not back is crazy!!! Miss the citizens of Hollywood the most. Made the place feel alive.
Thanks for the cm shout outs/ spotlight on the issues Kevin ❤🥹
Meanwhile Universal is having a banger month celebrating the 60th anniversary of the tram tour in Hollywood. 😅
Super thank you for your incredible history Kevin.
They kept repeating what the park was vs what it is now. And nothing about what it is now or signs of what it will become are exciting at all.
I honestly feel like the only parks to me I like going to at all are Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. I don’t really drink, and I don’t want to spend money to spend more money than I would elsewhere in Epcot. Also not the biggest Hollywood studios fan especially after they got rid of Starring Rolls the best quick service location
Are these the same people who planned underwhelming Jollywood Nights 🤣
I thought the park is worst park, but it’s doing better in attendance than Animal Kingdom and Epcot. I wouldn’t be surprised when Universal leaves Disney’s minor parks in the dust next year.
This is just sad. I will never do another Centreville at WDW since I went to the 50th. Very, very disappointing.. not worth any of my money..
I'd love to see vids of you working there, like the snip you dropped
my favorite park since I was a kid was Hollywood Studios. I loved going to the animation Academy where they would teach how to draw characters which is now launch bay. I love galaxies edge, toy story land, but seeing the lackluster BS that they do for the 35th anniversary of this amazing park is so upsetting the great movie ride isn’t there anymore. The voyage of the little mermaid is gone. The Muppets gift shop is gone. Any remnants of what this park used to be is gone it used to be about the movies and old Hollywood and now it’s only focus is galaxies edge and toy story land, it’s so sad and also Disney pay your fucking cast members. You are a multi billion dollar company pay your goddamn cast members what they deserve. They stand out there and the sweltering Florida sun for hours dealing with rude guests while the CEOs and higher ups, sitting in a nice cushy air-conditioned office making terrible decisions for Disney that impact those cast members, pay them what they deserve
Taylor Swift is NOT rock and roll. Its bubble gum music. I went to the 35th celebration and it was so weak I left by noon.
God This anniversary celebration is making the wonka experience Look like a VIP tour in Dubai
Hollywood Studios is literally supposed to glorify ENTERTAINMENT, and what do they take away the most of? The Citizens of Hollywood, etc are what make this park. These days it just feels so blah. I really hope it can return to its roots one day. I understand things change and concepts evolve, so I certainly am not advocating for the return to a full-fledged working studio. However, the park has lost its soul. It needs life.
At the same time it makes sense why it happened. I like new hollywood studios more and give a few more years and it will be even better. The thing is is that there’s not much room to expand after all they did so it makes sense why they would change the theme.
All I heard at the celebration was Blah Blah Blah and a they did a big glorified slap on the back for the big wigs who are ruining the parks
Them talking about the past just reminds me of how depressing today as the "future" is 😒
Even in this sad state I consider it to be superior to EPCOT
I'll wait for it to show up at the character warehouse
This and then May 4th with no Star Wars event...
That was their 35th celebration? That was awful lol.
Its just heartbreaking because this used to be my family's favorite park. We grew up obsessed with MGM and now it's painful to visit.
This is my least favorite park
Appreciate your honesty
LoL... At this point the Disney heads are demanding both cast-members and guests make bricks without straw. Oh yeah, and the beatings will continue until morale improves.
What about muppet movie land?
Jim passed away
@@KevinHeimbach 😟 Muppet vision 3d was his last thing he has ever done and even here comes the muppets too Kevin.
@@KevinHeimbach I’m blessed 😇 I’m still alive.
@@KevinHeimbach I remember the great movie ride I saw the Easter egg on Mickey and Minnie’s runaway railway and it said the great moving ride.
Here’s the thing! WHO CARES about a 35th??!! Okay…25.? Impressive…30th? Still pretty cool…After that, most people don’t care until, maybe 40th..maybe…but I don’t think most people don’t care before a 50th Anniversary!
It’s a chance for them to update shows, new food, new merch. Tokyo does it so well year after year. I really don’t know why they don’t just do what Tokyo does and sell Tokyo merch.
IDK what you expected, it's Disney. This is the norm now for them. I heard the Pixar event they had was awful and unorganized as well when it took place in Disneyland recently.
But I think Disneyland does a better job with events or anniversaries than WDW. Pixar event at least looks fun and offered a good amount.
Where are today's Katzenberg & Eisner? Nowhere to be found, replaced by Dewey, Cheatum & Howe. Your channel always shoots straight.
I make $16.70 an hour working at disney
love how she’s listing 3 examples of the adventures HS offers, but oh wait the 3 examples are actually the only lands 🤣🤣🤣 #oops #thatwasmeanttoimpressyou
Also, SHE IS SO BORING! I am only finishing this show out of loyalty to your hard work to make this vlog. Taking one for the team kevin hahahaha how do they get away with ladies talking and muppets and call this a show? This is a mandatory work meeting
Kevin, have you tried the new restaurant in Toy Story Land? Whats your thoughts about it?
Still havent tried it but heard bad things
This is my least favorite park. It’s now kinda awful there’s only one good ride that’s Mickeys. They need to make more rides. They need bring back the citizens of Hollywood! I mean what are they doing. Thanks budget cut Jeff.
I took a shot every time they said cast members now I need to get my stomach pumped
No everything changes usually not for the better
This makes me so sad remembering the heyday before 2020 and now it just feels like it’s barely hanging on 😢
I'm actually pretty critical of the universal studios florida park. I haven't been to disney in many years, so I can't objectively criticize it.
At least they had a "presentation" I guess. I hate Disney hyperbole speak. But it's better than the nothing they did for the 50th. I guess.
I mean. They repeat over and over how much they value cast members while being a deadbeat employer.
The BB8 sipper makes sense for them to still sell. Disney World is an entirely different market than Disneyland, which is brought up all the time lol. DL has to swap those buckets constantly because their market is 80-90% local passholders. Disney World is a global tourist spot primarily. They have to cater to the families coming from across the country and globe whose kid has been waiting five years to get that BB8 sipper they saw in a commercial. It’s why we don’t get the seasonal overlays like Haunted Mansion Holiday, unless they can be done easily for the after hours events.
As a local passholder, it is kind of bummer going to DHS sometimes, but I get it. I think they put so much money and work into that park for so long they have to leave it as is until they invest in the other three (well two, since Epcot will be pretty much done other than the Test Trak revamp once Communicore Plaza opens) before they revisit DHS to do something with Animation Courtyard other than the reopening of Little Mermaid they announced.
Hollywood studios is still my favorite Disney park, but yeah it has sunken and lost practically all sense of direction in what it's actual theme is. You have sunset strip with theater productions and a tribute to an amazing show and all, and then just plopped down is starwars land. The first areas of the park also have just a Hollywood and movie making/film theme, then make 2 turns and you're suddenly in the magic kingdom with toy story land!
Rise, tower of terror, midway mania, and (personally) Muppet Vision are some of the best rides in the parks imo, and rockin rollercoaster is still the fastest rollercoaster in disney and the only one to take you upside down to my knowledge, so it had that I guess even though its closed? I didnt realize just how many things they silently squeezed out without me noticing that you pointed out, absolute shame to see
