its not .006", or 6 thousandths off. It was a difference of .0016". The 6 at the end is ten thousandths and requires an outside micrometer with a veneer scale to measure. And I am betting that the dial "very near" calipers is the less accurate of the two. Wish that you would have used a true outside micrometer for the comparison.

Will this work for testing cylinder head port thickness for porting?
is there a possibility to measure paint thickness on aluminium or steel ? For example to use to measure paint thickness on cars?
There is a tool for that, but it is not this one.
Are there minimum and maximum thicknesses that it will measure ? also i heard surface ruffness can facter in a bit ... tks fer the vid
I have heard the same thing. I think that it is rated up to 6" and I am not sure on the bottom end of the scale.
