As young adults, we have been tested countless times over the years, whether it be by a parent, friend, or life itself, however. Growing up we were taught to believe that high grades signify smart and low grades meant dumb. Time and time again this caused distress in students. Within the video, it contains shows that Rizal once had a "pasang awa" grade, though he still become successful and was dubbed as our national hero, rightly so, as his life and even his morose death has inspired and continues to inspire generation after generations of Filipinos. As a student, Rizal taught me that even in the face of adversity, I could still pursue the fulfillment of my dreams. Wherein, imperfection is essential to all that we know in life we learn to fully embrace its beauty and weakness. To conclude, Jose P. Rizal's life is filled with lessons that any Filipino can reflect upon as it inspired me in such a way that it fuels my burning desires
After I have read and watched the story of Jose Rizal I realized that he is just like a typical student. He has a low grade in some subjects and he also has high grades in other subjects. As a student, Rizal motivates me to be proud of who I am and to work harder in my studies so that I can become the kind of person I want to be in the future. Furthermore, I realized that I want my parents to be proud of me because they are the ones who inspire me to succeed in life, much like what Rizal did to his mother. Additionally, Rizal inspires me to be a good student, even though I am not good in all subjects I will still give my best. Finally, This shows that no one is perfect, and even well-respected people have weaknesses. But it is preferable to exert all of our effort to achieve our goals in life.
I've always strived to get better marks ever since I entered school. I want to give this as an expression of gratitude for all the love and hardship my parents have endured on my behalf. And I always aspire to make them proud. But there were instances when I came up short of that standard. I once made comparisons to other people. I even questioned myself, “pare-pareho naman kaming nagsusunog ng kilay, pero bakit hindi ako nakakuha ng mataas na marka gaya nila?” Moreover, It caused me to doubt my own abilities because of this. However, I have learned after viewing this Rizal documentary, having an "aprobado" grade does not preclude you from achieving the career you aspire to. It makes no difference how much time it requires you to earn your profession or if your academic performance isn't the greatest. According to Gillian Sun, “what matters most is what is embedded deeply in your heart, the things that inspire you to continue living everyday life. In 10 years, your transcript of records will be nothing but a mere piece of paper, but the fire that fuels your zest for life will be the one keeping you on your feet.”
Since we were young, people always say that Rizal is an outstanding student and a perfect role model, especially for students because of his achievements. But we can now realize that it’s not what they expected him to be. Just like any other student, Rizal is an average. Yes, he had special abilities since he was young, but it doesn’t mean that he is skilled at all the things he does. He work hard to learn all of it and even sacrifices many things to achieve the recognition that he truly deserves. There are things that he’s not good at but there are also a lot of things that he’s very good at. Despite all the difficulties that he had experienced, he always strive hard and continue searching for his dreams just like any other student. This inspired me to stop searching for recognition because all that matters is how you will use the knowledge you have to change your life.
Jose Rizal's story is one of perseverance, courage, and dedication to education and his country. As a student, it can inspire you to work hard towards your goals, to overcome obstacles, and to use your education to make a positive impact on society. Rizal's example can also inspire you to be socially responsible, to speak up against injustice, and to fight for the rights and freedoms of all people. His commitment to using his knowledge and talents for the betterment of society serves as a powerful reminder of the potential impact that students can have on the world. Overall, the story of Jose Rizal is a testament to the power of education and the potential of individuals to make a difference in the world.
One of the learnings that we can get from Rizal is the importance of education. He serves as the embodiment of how important education is, and most of his time was dedicated to his studies. We know how well and how intelligent Rizal is based on the stories that we hear. But despite of that, he is also like a normal students na nakakakuha ng low grade. And as a student, the thing that I learned in this story is that no matter how well or how intelligent you are, meron at meron pa ding part talaga sa atin na mahina like everyone has flaws kasi nga we are not perfect. It inspires me in a way that not excelling in a certain thing means that you're a failure, or that you're not great. In this journey that I'm taking right now, I can say that I'm just barely surviving and kagaya ko lang din yung mga ibang students. Having a low grade doesn't determine our capabilities to achieve our own dream, in fact, pwede itong maging sandata para mas lalong pag igihan pa ang pag-aaral. Hindi natin kailangan maging perfect in order to be successful. Sabi nga ni Rizal, "On this battlefield, man has better weapon than his intelligence, no other force but his heart."
Jose Rizal taught me to make the most of my time. His life inspires me to be a better version of myself every day. Your values, hard work, and personal ethics all play a role in your development. So be proud and take responsibility for it.
"Jose Rizal is a just like us, he's not perfect and he also failed in some aspects" Nasanay tayo na ang palagi lamang nating naririnig tungkol sa ating pambansang bayani, ay kung gaano siya kaperpektong tao. Ngunit, nagpapakita ang video na ito na ang ating pambansang bayani. ay tulad din nating mga ordinardyong tao na nagkakamali at hindi magaling sa lahat ng bagay. And with that fact, our national hero motivates me more na hindi mo kailangang maging perpektong estudyante para maging matagumpay. Na hindi kailangan na maging magaling sa lahat ng bagay. Tayo ay may kanya kanyang abilidad sa iba't ibang aspeto, gayun rin ang ating mga kahinaan.
Ever since elementary, I've been always told to do well in school, and so I did. I need to be at the top in whatever I do. However, now that I'm in college, I've realized that I don't need to be the greatest at everything because I'm barely surviving right now. After watching this documentary, having a barely passing grade shouldn't deter someone from achieving their dreams. This video demonstrated how Rizal is still successful despite receiving an almost failing grade. It proved how similar he is to the majority of the students nowadays. This side of Rizal genuinely encouraged me, not to fail, but to persevere in reaching my goals despite not being the greatest.
I learnt to respect and listen to my elders, to love my family, to be proud of who I am, to believe in myself, and to not be afraid to stand up for what is right from Rizal. Many people's hero, Jose Rizal's ability to fight for independence in a quiet yet effective manner helped him become the national hero of the Philippines. Instead of using violence or hostility, he wrote books, essays, and articles to show his love for the Philippines. It is to recommit us young people to the ideas of nationalism and freedom for which our warriors sacrificed their lives. To honor the national hero for dedicating his life and labor to developing the character of the Filipino people. Should learn from Rizal's life, deeds, and writings in order to become more patriotic.
Jose Rizal do really inspire me as a student, not excelling on a certain subject doesn't mean you're not doing your best. Education is not a race perhaps it is about how you develop your knowledge for the betterment of all. Knowing Rizal got a "pasang-awa" grade despite of this Rizal is acknowledged as a "gifted" due to his excellency in other aspects as stated. His devotion on his studies just to help his mother creates character to who he really is. I realized that all of our hard work and sleepless nights is way different reason with Rizal's goal despite of challenges he faced while studying. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that the purpose of good education was to combine intelligence with personality. Reading books, getting good grades, and achieving academically are only a small part of education. It is using what you have learned to a good cause.
As a student who knows Jose Rizal as an intelligent and forward-thinking man of his time, learning that Jose Rizal was once a regular student was reassuring. We have a culture in which we are forced to act with nobleness and excellence when we are related to someone in authority, such as a politician, and this creates a gap between our peers. The same thing happened to the descendants of Jose Rizal. He inspires me because hearing that he has passing grades in the same way makes me feel better about taking my time and not feeling so rushed, and it was okay to make mistakes and have passing grades as long as you did your best. Basically, it was eye-opening to realize that Jose Rizal and I are similar in our ability to excel in whatever field we are in.
As a student, Jose Rizal definitely motivates me to believe that giving your best even if you don't excel in a particular topic. Education is not a competition; rather, it may be about how you advance your knowledge for the benefit of everyone. Despite the fact that Rizal received a "pasang-awa" grade, he is recognized as "gifted" due to his excellence in other areas, as previously mentioned. His commitment to his academics in order to support his mother shapes who he truly is. I came to see that, despite the difficulties he encountered in his studies, Rizal's purpose was far different from ours. According to Martin Luther King Jr., a good education should blend intelligence and charisma.
Jose Rizal struggled too on his studying which is perfectly normal as a student. He is intelligent but he strived hard too to gain those grades. Therefore, as a student it is never easy to have those grades but with determination and smart strategy of studying I know that I can also reach my goals in life. Most of the students said that grades are just numbers, but those numbers reflects our performance in school. Therefore, to have a better grades time management is the best skill that must be mastered.
This part of Rizal's life inspire me to give all what I can give in studying but never focus on just one thing. It is okay to have a 'passed' mark on a subject that I don't really excel to but if I can do something to get a much higher than that, then it is much better. I don't need to worry myself too much just because of that mark because I still have other things that I am confident at. It is normal not to be good at or know everything because this just shows that I still have a room for learning. And this room will be filled with learnings and knowledge in my entire journey may it be throughout school and in my life. Grades helps us have more chances to be successful but they do not measure the knowledge we have acquired from our educational phase in school.
Jose Rizal, our national hero, earned both high and low grades throughout his time as a student at UST and ATENEO. However, having a bad grade is acceptable because it won't define you as a person, like our national hero Jose Rizal, who was unaffected by it because he wasn't defined by those numbers and instead remembered as our national hero for the sacrifices he made for our country.
After watching this documentary focusing on Jose Rizal's grades in particular universities, I realized that grades are just numbers. Similar to how age does not necessarily define maturity and does not measure intelligence. Most students have at least once experienced receiving low grades. At some point in our lives, we often get pressured by aiming high remarks or grades to satisfy ourselves in academics. Moreover, dedication and hard work can pay off for you in many ways at school, while grades do not matter because they do not control the rest of our lives. However, a poet once said, “Life is not a race, but a journey, to be savored each step of the way” (Nancye Sims).
Education is the way to reach our dreams. Based on the article and video, Rizal is just a normal student who sometimes excels in a subject but sometimes does not get high marks. I was inspired because I realized that you don't need to compare your grades or anything else to other people. Why? Because there won't be good results if you keep wanting to surpass others and your heart will only be filled with envy. Even though Dr. Jose Rizal is your relative, you don't need to pressure yourself. Just enjoy life because when you know what you're doing is right, it's enough to inspire other people.
Regardless of the obstacles he faced, Rizal's steadfast devotion to study and tireless pursuit of knowledge is a testament to the transformative power of learning. His life's efforts and writings, which attempted to raise awareness of the injustices of the period, serve as a reminder of the need for critical thinking and social responsibility. Rizal's story, as a student, reminds us of the need for knowledge not just for personal development, but also for contributing to society and supporting positive change. His legacy reminds us that learning is more than just a means to an end; it is a lifelong process that allows us to make a good difference in the world.
Jose Rizal’s story reminds me that it is not only possible but also highly achievable to broaden your skills and interests, and that hard work can pay off in remarkable ways. He was not only an artist and poet but also a medical student, a scientist, and a social reformer. Although he may not have been an exemplary student in all of his classes, his passion for literature and the arts was undisputed, and his previous accomplishments in that field are a testament to the rewards of diligence and perseverance. He was a model of both book smarts and street smarts, keeping his sense of identity and adaptability throughout life's difficulties and hardships. This teaches me that talent and effort can be blended harmoniously to accomplish great things in life. And also, it makes me understand the importance of finding my interests, doing my best in all of my studies, and having a good work ethic - things that will help me advance in the future. Most importantly, it reminds me there is no requirement for perfection-even those we regard as extraordinary can have room for improvement and I want to do my own version of Rizal and make my own mark in life, no matter how big or small.
I was motivated to pursue and complete my education by Rizal's academic achievements. What matters more than your grade is whether you learnt something and broadened your knowledge, thus it doesn't matter if you got high or low grades. Given his reputation as a knowledgeable person, I am one of those who believes Jose Rizal does not have a poor mark. Prior to learning that Rizal also received a poor mark, I used to be dissatisfied when I received a aprobado. However, after learning this, I stopped feeling this way and began to believe that everyone also had poor mark.
This strengthens my belief that just because you lack something or you are not good at something doesn't mean you aren't worthy of success. This story of Rizal has opened my eyes to learn not to put down myself for my weaknesses or define myself by how well I perform or what grade I get but instead to always believe that despite failures it is still possible to achieve greatness in life. And through this story of Rizal, I realized that there is always someone else who is better than me or someone who has more ability than me, but I shouldn't compare because each person is different and we have our own definition as to what is success.
Jose Rizal's experiences as a student are relatable to the majority of students. Some do well in other subjects, while others don't or struggle to keep up. This demonstrates how Rizal was simply an average student like us. Because of Rizal's story, I am inspired or motivated to believe that success in the future is still possible, even if we receive poor marks. Grades don't determine who you are or what your future holds; you are in charge of your own future.
Rizal serves as a role model and as an example of Filipino bravery to everyone, his love for our country and standing for what is right, his knowledge, perspective, and his way of thinking are one of the things that inspired me to love learning and give importance to education. After I watch this video, I realized that having a failing grade doesn't define you as a person, I often compared myself to others before because of dissatisfaction but I learned that we are unique, we have different capabilities, talents, and skills. Just like in Rizal's experience that he is a typical student just like us, he has a grade of sobresaliente which means excellent, that is the same with his 7 classmates and he also got a "pasang-awa" grades but that doesn't mean that it is considered as failure, your grade doesn't define your future, he also used his profession, ability and intelligence to treat and care for the people around him. Even if he has "pasang-awa " grades, he is still successful to fight for us in the future, don't underestimate the things that you can do and this is the representation of loving what you are and what you have, to not compete with anyone, what I learned about his story is that to be passionate about what I love, to not give up on your goals, life is not about who is first and who is behind but it is how you get to surpass in the finish line.
It made me fall in love with the Philippines and all of its inhabitants. Also, it motivated me to excel in my studies and career in the near future. Simply said, Dr. Jose Rizal's life story has so deeply moved me and motivated me that it fuels my burning desire to be a decent neighbor and a stellar student. In one of his writings, he stated that "Without education and liberty, which are the soil and the sun of man, no reform is possible." Rizal equated education with liberty in terms of worth. It implies that education is a must for every guy to live. Humans are as powerless as birds in cages without knowledge. When examined from a modern standpoint, education is crucial. The main need for employment is educational background.
To be honest, Rizal's story really inspires me. As a student who feels obligated to have an exellent to all of her subjects, it's such a relief that even our National Hero grades on college is on par to mine. Regardless of his grades, we still considered him as our National Hero. It is because he used his knowledge efficienlty for the sake of our country and for the future generations. That's why I don't believe to the saying "grades define your future" since school is just a stepping stone to all of us and it depends on the person whether they're gonna use their knowledge efficiently or not.
Do your best in what you are doing but don't compare yourself to others. We have different aptitudes for things. There are things that you can do and for you it is easy but for others it is difficult. There are things that others can do but you didn't. It is not because someone is good at a specific thing means you have to be good like they do. The person will have more difficulty when the standard is too high for him, Rizal is Rizal. Don't make so much pressure because of the though that Rizal is very good, he is intelligent so be like him. He was not always the best or number one, as the saying says, life is like a wheel, sometimes you're above and sometimes you're under. Rizal also get a "pasang awa" grade and it is normal to have low grades. Don't be afraid to fail or get a low grade, it must be your motivation to study harder, not to study with pressure because Rizal is the standard.
As a student, Knowing Jose Rizal's story throughout his education is something the students can relate to. Sometimes we get high scores, sometimes we get a pity grade but then we shouldn't feel bad about it because as students, we are in the process of learning new things, it does not necessarily mean if we get low grades we are considered dumb. This story made me realize that though we can be bad at something but we can still be good in some areas of our journey as students. Education is a very inaccurate predictor of intellect, it does not measure a person's financial, personal, or emotional stability.
If this is true it meant only one thing: That even you're the greatest person on earth you are not perfect! That fact did not even change my admiration to our national hero
Magalig si Gat Jose Rizal sa Iba ibang Lenguje nabasa ko 6 montths lang ngang inaral ang lenguaje Aleman. Na even the Germans the majority don’t speak perfect German. What a brilliant Man ❤️🙏✍️🇵🇭🇩🇪 watching from Germany
Korek me if I'm wrong, ayon sa ilang nabasa ko documentary tungkol kay Gat.

In one of his writings, he stated that "Without education and liberty, which are the soil and the sun of man, no reform is possible."
Rizal equated education with liberty in terms of worth.
