When those BAR Honda v10s were at Indy they were the loudest of the bunch. They actually hurt my ears. The others I could listen to without needing earplugs. However, this was on the main straight where the sound was bouncing off of the infield and regular main straight seats. It's almost like going through a tunnel. Nice upload, thanks!
Would have been interesting to see the Willilams-Honda FW11B vs McLaren-Honda MP4/4. I think the Williams had higher turbo boost for 1987 than the McLaren had in 1988. The Lotus was not a great chassis.
This MP4/4 v6 turbo sounds great yet when I was at the 2014 Australian F1 GP the car sounded very low and deep with the added high pitch of the turbo sound. They almost were at the same pitch as the v8 super cars, the Australian touring cars. hopefully the FIA can do something to bring up the sound of these F1 cars. I was led to believe that the cars at the Australian F1 race or practice were revving at about 12,000 revs as opposed to the 15,000 revs they are capable of doing now. I miss the 18 K revs we are all used to. I remember the locals of Albert Park complaining of the loud noise of the F1 cars, now they are complaining that they don't sound like F1 cars. What a laugh. I must say, after a couple of days i got used to the low growl and high pitched whirring of the turbos. It seems like they are difficult to control with less downforce and high torque as seen by Kimmi Raikonen's experience all weekend amongst others.
but no one else can drive like him. #foreversenna
Not only super succesful but arguably the most beautiful f1 car ever assembled, it's absolute perfection to the eye

Marlboro McLaren Honda & Williams Renault, two of the most iconic race cars during my childhood!
Ridhuan Abu Bakar That is a Williams Honda.
É bacana e triste ao mesmo tempo.
Senna for ever...
A REAL RACE CAR
Senna incomparável.
I like this video and those v6 twin turbo sounds were so better than actual ones.
I wish I could see Mclaren again with this sponsors and with this engine as well. Very nice video.
Mclaren + Honda + Marlboro = The most successful partnership in F1 history
Good to see full liveries and sponsors branding on the Mclaren & Lotus.
Que sdd muita saudades

I miss those 80's Turbocharged engines!!!!!
impressive! great video!
Amazing!!
Love these old cars that relied on all of that mechanical grip. 1200hp in a lightweight car.
650 hp*.
Rottensteam Yes my mistake. Didn't see that the Lewis Hamilton quote that I used was incorrect.
1200hp was with the Lotus 97T under qualifying....
onde se encontra esses carros para o publico poder ver ????
where you could see these cars?
That is how a TRUE TURBO CAR should sound like. Not like the modern day LAWNMOWER turbo cars.
It was a good video^^

+Audioquest56 ofcourse they did, pressure was limited in '88
