  • I hot-glued a faster spindle to my MAHO. And for better sounds, I've built a new exhaust.
    Well, not quite.:-)
The HF-spindle, I most use for milling patterns or fine stuff with small mills.
Sand is oil-bound sand, cores are of PU bound sand (cold box), patterns and core boxes milled out of Renshape .

Yes, this is oil-bound sand. A brand name is Petrobond. Or a DIY-receipe is K-Bond.
Oil bound has a higher green strength, but is more expensive and harder to regenerate. Also, it can make finer details.

    It's not just a Deckel, it's a Maho. ;-)
Both the green and the beige stuff is Renshape.

so this is not green sand SiO2 + bentonite, its oil mixed sand? im prepareing myself for casting some parts for the first time and at my "local" supplier ive noticed you can get green sand and oil sand and now im confused which is better, you've use oil mixed one right?
