I've literally never seen a full show pre '94. A few exist definitely, but those who have them are hoarding them hard (possibly under direct instructions from the Weez!). I guess it's conceivable that no-one outside of the band videod a show between '92 and '94, seems unlikely.
Imagine how much content MTV has in high quality video that it could re-air and improve on the ratings for whatever it shows right now. Then upload all of that and create an online presence.
I can't believe this was 30 years ago. I was 12 years old lip syncing this song in my living room with my buddy, recording ourselves with a shitty VHS camera. What a time.
Man, what HAPPENED to Mtv!? This brings me back!! I remember being absolutely GLUED to the tube watching all these alternative bands play. I miss the era, I miss the fad, I miss the spirit and I miss... I miss... I WANT my MTV BACK!!!
The internet became a thing and MTV couldnt compete with the ability to see whatever music video or music content you could want at any time, so they completely pivoted to the reality TV they had success with in the 90s.
Their demo version of Tired of Sex ("Tracking Rough" on Spotify) is their live sound coming through in the studio. They seem to soften up a bit on the finished records, so it's really cool to hear raw Weezer just having a beautiful meltdown. It almost sounds like hardcore.
I could see why Matt annoyed Rivers. Cool how Pat said “I can’t really comment on that song since I didn’t write it” insinuating to Matt he didn’t either
Gal dang matt already looked like he was bored of the bass while rivs still had the bell end hair do!! Weezers top frickin notch!!🤘🤘😁😁 Pat sounded like bill hader at the interview part!!
Rivers has demo tapes from the early 90s that feature a ton of songs from both Blue and Pinkerton. Weezer has always primarily been Rivers. He literally also wrote the baselines. Not sure why everyone thinks Matt is like the John to Rivers’ Paul but he really wasn’t Lmfao
@@MG-mn7igbecause he added charisma and his own small touches that make the band go from great to fucking perfect. But honestly weezer’s glory on blue album had a lot to do with ric ocasek knowing exactly how to shape and put everything together in the best package for getting the most out of the band. Rivers has even vouched on that. Rivers even used ric’s les paul because ric wanted the guitar to have more punch and pop and rivers warmoth strat got lost in the mix with its tone. Lot of stuff like that.
If anyone has the full audio/video of any =w= 1992-2005 shows, please email me at ongsa181@gmail.com or contact me via Discord "theyeastmaster"

These songs aged like fine wine
Pat looks like the boys’ 35 year old uncle who works in IT, for Bill Lundbergh.
the vhs texture on this is so prfect
funny how rivers says NOTHING during the interview parts
yeah hes in mad depression
It’s cause he was a very shy person
To me it seemed ironic because he was the leader and the main songwriter.
@@pllndch That is true but he was bullied and he grew very self conscious and very shy, and that’s why he never talked in interviews.
@@mackymoose1018 Yeah I get it but I didn't say it to poke fun, I really just find it ironic.

Love the mix. Sounds raw and very punky. Weezer at their best.
Yeah I love their live recordings from this and the Pinkerton era. They seemed to play everything way faster and more raw back then.

Thank you for uploading this! I’ve never seen the complete version until now!
Miss matt sharp so much
Weezer was never the same after his departure
Matt was obnoxious tbh
So dang true..@@jonagport
Sure, but Rivers needs that. @@InspectorGadgetEpicMickey
@@InspectorGadgetEpicMickey And Scott Shriner IS the bassist for Weezer. anyone who says they wish for matt sharp are not weezer fans.
these are mixed SO well, their performances are solid... really good.
I like how Rivers opened his mouth, like, “ :o “ just to make it look like he talked
Totally gifted songwriter. Rivers is one of the G.O.A.T.
