a polite message: the second sehri time ends/ azaan starts, we are not allowed to swallow a single grain. If we do that, our fast breaks at that very moment. Hence, it is advised to finish sehri 5-10minutes before azaan to avoid having something in mouth when azaan starts. Also, one should brush their teeth before azaan so that any food particle stuck between teeth is cleaned. May Allah guide us all.
Nope. According to hadith if you have food in your mouth even a bite in your hands then you can eat that instead of wasting but no more than that. Search for authentic hadith instead of going with what elders say and taking it as truth.

So I would suggest that you eat your sehri at least 5 minutes before Adaan. I hope that you'll never mind. I just thought to tell you the actual way so you'll be able to fast as it is required.
