I like the idea but in practice I really hate how the animation team think that they necessarily have to always make everything over the top and melodramatic, or at least so much so that it just feels contrived... It would feel much more natural and be probably funnier if they actually depicted the demon king as if this was within his daily routine rather than just some kind of cheesy street magician performing for his family for the first time :v
I honestly really like the trope where full on villains are in fact good parents and spouses.

Watching the series, I just loved his character every time he showed up. Especially when he made excuses not to use the Intel from the princess.
