  • 5 years later...Im back testing and setting up Antilag, Launch Control and Rotational Idle in my Version 6 WRX STI.
    A new motor, new exhaust and a new turbo prompted me to take a fresh look at the Antilag setup and Launch Control system.
    Comment below and let me know what you would like to see more of or if you have any questions about the build.

    Car looks sick. My favorite color on GCs. Great quality content too. Looking forward to seeing more stuff.

    Hey! That is bloody brilliant!
    Can you go over the build, the destroked motor! Which heads you use! Turbo, fueling, how the cams changed the powerband?
    Cheers. Amazing car!!

    Amazing sounding exhaust! What is that? Getting so many pops and burbles at low rpm from the standalone tune, exhaust, or motor build? Thanks man!

      Thanks 👌 Stainless Steel 3" piping. Split wastegate style dump pipe heat wrapped in Titanium wrap with Equal Length Headers. Tuner allowed for the 272 cams to really come across instead of ironing them out at idle. You could easily achieve this with stock motor, correct tuning and a decent exhaust. Cheers

    Really nice car man!
    What exhaust are you running?

      Thanks mate. Prospeed equal length headers wrapped. Custom dump pipe and midsection with a resonator and varex adjustable oval muffler at the back.

    Hey there :) nice! Wasted Spark Setup or Single-Coil Ignition to realize the Cyclic Idle?

    • @theversion6stijarrethrowle309
      @theversion6stijarrethrowle309  2 роки тому

      Hey mate, Converted to coil on plug (wasted spark). Just for reliabilities sake its converted to coil on plug, top feed injectors and shimless buckets. The heads are still GC8 and all the old tech (apart from the above) and the bottom end is a fresh EJ25 destroked to 2.3

    Hello sir, what would be your rev limit parameters for ignition/fuel cut...I cannot distinguish which one is used here😁

    • @theversion6stijarrethrowle309
      @theversion6stijarrethrowle309  Рік тому

      I use Ignition cut - my Ignition retard table is set around the -3 to -10 mark dependent on RPM. I add about 1-2% more fuel, again dependent on RPM :)
      Are you setting up your own tables? :)

    So nice, can I ask what rotational idle is please?

    • @theversion6stijarrethrowle309
      @theversion6stijarrethrowle309  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks! Rotational Idle (or Cyclic Idle) is basically when you set the ECU to kill spark to 1 cylinder (changes each sequence) per firing sequence to "cool" the cylinder down usually after using Anti Lag etc :) Honestly not needed unless your doing full on Anti Lag hillclimbs, rally stages etc which I dont do and most of us dont do.
      You can hear the Rotational Idle (or Cyclic Idle) at the 49 Second mark of the video.

      @@theversion6stijarrethrowle309 ah that’s interesting, antilag is what’s killed my car I reckon. Piston is properly toast. I’ll see if my link ecu can do it

    • @theversion6stijarrethrowle309
      @theversion6stijarrethrowle309  2 роки тому +1

      Yes Antilag can be brutal if using it for what it is intended.
      Sorry to hear about your motor! Link ECUs definitely can do it. I will post up my settings for my LINK\Vipec ECU :)
