I was at that gig! The only difference from the set list they played in England at The Rainbow a month prior was that at Central Park they didn't play 'Penetration In The Centrefold'. That was the only disappointing aspect of this gig for me. Always wondered why they cut it out? Thanks for this post.
Not only that, they're a timeless rock and roll band. They highlight everything great that punk did in revivifying rock music, tightening up and sharpening what had become bloated and decadent in the 70s. Listen to Bob 1's flaming rendition of "Be Stiff" here, and you hear a rock band that's really in the same class as Elvis.
Yes, I listened to the intro. I was 19 years old, went with my brother Dean, he was almost 15 years old. Awesome show, only cost a few bucks, under $10 I believe.
That was awesome, I remember when concerts would be broadcast across the airwaves:)
I'm 56 next year......... M
0:48 Sounds like they accidentally played the audio for one of the short films they'd play during the concert
I heard this when broadcast. I've been a Devo fan ever since.
This is a kickass recording! My favorite 80's band, them and Siouxsie and the Banshees! What a great tour and setlist!
Awesome! Those and Boingo are my favorites.

To anyone who was there that night- what happened right after "Blockhead" (approx. 30:00). Are those boos I hear?
One of the best shows I ever got to see, included a Jimmy Carter & a Ronald Reagan.
I was there...
So was I! 14 years old!
0:47 Did someone fall asleep at a console and accidentally begin rolling the film for "Tunnel of Life"? XD
Sounds like it!
This album was removed off spotify..... mad about that
There is a bay where pirates dwell, and they like Devo!
I've said it once, I'll say it again, Devo are the best band to come out of the first wave of punk, perhaps only tied by Ian Dury and the Blockheads.
