The more I listen to the song the more I love it. I think it has serious potential to be a radio hit if given a chance. It's the most unique original they've done imo

You can tell this was done before Covid because Mitch still has the mullet! Mitch was singing counterpoint against Kirstie's lead! And it was so tight that it sounded like an effect! I have doubts about "layering" because PTX always tries to make their arrangements in such a manner that they can do them live. That's always been their mantra; I could be wrong, but that's what it seems like to me.
But if you watched the BBMA you will see he still has his Mullet, so he either never cut it or grew it back or is wearing extensions.

I need xtra instructions for hashtag use.. cause I'm older and things have finally bypassed me to where I need explanation. I don't understand how the music world works in relation to what gets a number airtime so that this has a chance to be on the radio where it belongs. This is going to sound so insane but back in the day we simply called in requests to radio stations and the more that people requested it the more popular it got played and obviously the more airtime it got. That played into record sales and promotion. Requests were figured in to charts and who is at the top as well. I cannot figure out why this song is it being played because as you stated this is different for Pentatonix. The song feels mainstream and it's catchy. And we are the only ones saying this as every reactor I have dropped in on is saying the same thing, should be on the radio. How do hashtags play into that and how do you use them and where? When I search on UA-cam for Pentatonix should I use the hashtag or type in the name of their Channel like I always do? Not only am I old, 58 almost 59, but I get confused really easily because of chronic illness I've had for over a decade and social media has simply reached a point where I cannot keep up. I no longer use Twitter because every time I would tweet something my children would let me know that I had done it wrong and it wound up in the wrong place instead of where it should have been. It got embarrassing enough I simply deleted Twitter. Instagram takes up too much memory on my pathetic little tablet so I don't have Instagram anymore either. And all the notifications from those two apps Drive me out of my mind and really agitate me with all of the notification sounds. If there was a switch I could flip that turned off all notification sounds at once for everybody I subscribe to and then I could manually go into the app and just turn on notifications for Pentatonix and the members individual accounts I would use Twitter in a Flash. The same goes for Instagram. But over years of having my accounts there are far too many people that I will end up following and the notifications are too many for me to handle one at a time. I can only handle UA-cam. Literally I don't even have Facebook anymore because I couldn't figure it out either. It is so pathetic to be me right now! 😂 but I have to accept I have become an old fogey.
I don't just listen to music all day because I'm bedridden so it's not like I hop in a car and turn on a playlist. everything I do is from one location and it's been this way for years so what is the best way somebody as Dazed and Confused as I am can support Pentatonix getting air time and notice? I buy everything the minute it drops and I play they're song everytime I listen to a reaction to the song Because I figure that way it evens out that they're getting views because a lot of reactors stop the video before it ends and I don't know if they get credit for that as a view? and having a million reactors doesn't seem to help promote them even though the reactors are able to reach so many people through their subscribers. how do I help these guys get their music heard in the right place to make them hit the top of the charts where they belong? where they were when the last original album dropped. They were right at the top of everything right about the time Avi left and their music is so good, people are turning out for their concerts as we all know, so why isn't their music being played on the radio? if you understand how all this works, PLEASE tell me what to do in order to get the song heard by more people (and any of their current releases in real time).
I'm also a patron and I'm doing the best that I know how to support the group but it's not getting their songs on the radio. thank you for your patience
and yes that is me in my profile picture, not one of my children. that's the first time I've ever said that but it just occurred to me that people probably think it's one of my kids because of the Pikachu hat. I like to have a picture in my head of who I'm talking to especially when it's about Pentatonix because it's kind of like a family. I love Pikachu and I do not apologize. but I was only 52 in the picture and now I'm 58 and I what to change my profile picture and I can't even figure out how 2 change it 😂 I think it's hysterical that I can't figure it out! I just want to say anybody that knows I pop up in all kinds of reactors channels that yes, that's me.
I want to talk about the song but I need help to promote them and this got REALLY long. I'm going to make a separate comment because there's some really interesting and noteworthy things happening in this video that I just have to share with people that love them too! Kirstie wrote this and she sang the entire song! I love it and I love her and I'm so happy for her! what an amazing young woman she is and she has got a heart of gold! They all do, but one girl. four guys... it's nice to see Kristie in the lead!

Great reaction! YES!! New originals album dropping 02-12-2021!!! Matt’s first!!!! That group shot looked superimposed. Wonder if that was filmed earlier in the year or simply meant to have that look? I Like Kirstin just a bit off center! I got Orinoco Flow/Sail Away Enya vibes at the beginning! Beautiful and creative and different! It deserves radio airtime. If you close your eyes & listen, you would NEVER guess it’s acapella!!!! I think Scott was giving depth to the bass with Matt & backing Kirstin while Mitch took the super high harmonies! It was spectacular!

First time I heard this, and not knowing the title, the first few measures put my in mind of "The Orinoco Flow" done by Celtic Woman. If you go listen to that, you'll understand why. Love this song, pentaholics can't get enough.
One thing I've always loved about Pentatonix is they have never been afraid to spotlight different members of the group.
It has Enia vibes, but is done with their voices witch always make me smile, they are soo talent

Maybe it is just me but it also seems to be about those times in our lives when we either from depression or for looking through the rose colored glasses we need others to see more clearly for us. Although the new album's co-producers Dan Book and Matthew Koma are listed as co-writers, I believe that this song is probably about 90% written by Kirstie. I noticed that Book and Koma are listed as co-writers on most of the songs that they produced on the album, but that may be more a contractual thing and they probably only gave little suggestions for maybe changing a word and/or note or two.

@@jamesmcnutt9169 I sure hope so? They are usually very careful to get permission and rights when recording music especially for covers! If they don't get the rights they don't sing it, for example they had several songs in mind for the at home ep titled home but didn't get approval to use them so they had to cut them....I can only hope she got clearance for this particular song?
@@kristagerry8505 Well it's not exactly a cover. It mainly the intro and underlying beat throughout. It's more of a sample like Vanilla Ice and Ice Ice baby samples Under Pressure and changed it ever so slightly! Same thing here. I can't find the accreditations for it anywhere. I love PX and especially Kirsten , other than Morissette Amon from Phillipines, she is my favorite female voice but the second I heard this I recognized the beat immediately. Enya came to mind and sure enough it's almost identical. Listen for yourself.

It is a good song, but the background singing reminds me of another song. I can't place it though and it's been driving me nuts sense I saw the video yesterday.
I'm really glad that they're doing original songs again. Their covers are amazing, I just think for the group to get to the next level they should take some time to focus on original music and do maybe one or two covers an album. My thinking is like "Do they want to keep covering icons and iconic songs, or do they want to become the icons that get others to cover their songs?" I think they're ready to at least try for the latter.
A lot of people have been comparing it to Enya's "Sail Away." The background especially at the beginning reminds me of that.
@@frutepye7859 That is it. Thank you. When the video started my thought was "Wait, wasn't this supposed to be an original song?" Then after it kept going I could hear the differences, but they were cutting it close to having to give Enya credit.

I had read something that said that Kirstin was having some issues with her eyesight, which sparked this song. Can't confirm that, though. Do you have any additional information to add to that?
i haven’t heard anything about her eyesight, so i’m not sure if that is accurate. when PTX sent out the promo for this song to their email list they did however explain the song’s meaning a little bit! “ ‘Be My Eyes’ is all about personal perception-seeing things clearly, not seeing things so clearly, and needing loved ones around you to ground you and help you navigate the complexities of life. We wanted to convey that in this video!”

it is slightly diffrent if you listen close( i am a fan of both groups) and I do sincerely hope they got permission and give due credit as this is a good thing for both groups!
