- Detective Elliot Stabler jeopardizes his marriage when he goes undercover to infiltrate an animal smuggling ring with Detective Olivia Benson posing as a prostitute.
Season 10, Episode 07 'Wildlife": Detective Elliot Stabler arrives on the scene of a murder to find a young woman brutally killed, and carrying a rare bird species found dead in her purse. Dr. Melinda Warner comes back with some startling evidence - the saliva found in the cuts on the victim’s body shows she was mauled by a tiger. Gots, who admits to working for an animal smuggling ring, agrees to go undercover with Detective Stabler to catch the smugglers, Andre Bushido and Tybor . But when Detective Olivia Benson poses as a prostitute to help out her partner undercover, Detective Stabler finds himself wounded and his marriage in disarray.

The ending scene from this clip was one of those times in tv where I audibly gasped the first time I watched it.
This was definitely the season where Elliot really pushed Kathy to serving him with divorce papers again. And just one season after they got back together too.
But hey, another job well done. He got another murderer off the streets, brought down a animal smuggling ring, and as an added bonus, he got to see Liv in only her underwear.😍😍 A true privilege for any lucky man.🤤🤤
After this episode, Kathy must have calmed down after her and Olivia's interference nearly got Elliot killed.

Would an undercover cop really go into something like that without support? Do animal smugglers usually have such huge warehouses? How would they get the hyena up to the apartment without being seen?

The strange thing is that the villain probably didn't know at the time he shot Stabler that the latter was an undercover cop--he was just that nuts/sadistic; had he known, Stabler would have met a worse fate, IMO...
