Undefeated is a fantastic album, but right now I feel like this is my favorite. While it the meaning on the surface is obvious, there's a strong thematic undercurrent of leaning into one's passion and perseverance that connects.
Also the line "With a matinee on Saturdays" - Several years back Frank played a show here in Dallas at a dive bar on a Saturday afternoon because the planned evening show was cancelled at a bigger venue headlined by another artist. There were a couple hundred of us packed in like sardines and sweating, and it is the greatest show I have ever been to. I doubt that's what is being referenced in this song, but the point is dedication to the craft and the love that comes from that.
