21:40 That was one of my favorite scenes in the entire SERIES. The way it's shot, the perspective, how the real action is in the background... just... *chef's kiss* so freakin funny.
Love this episode. A nice throwback to the old days and funny as hell. Sarah's performance as the manipulative Buffy is so good. And we needed this humor before the season buckles down with the big bad.
I'm actually relieved to hear someone say that because, although I found it hilarious, part of me did worry that it'd be poorly received in 2024, given the age difference and the consent issues. I was honestly fine with it, but as a reactor, you do worry someone might take offence at you laughing at something like that. That said, he didn't seem to know what effect the jacket was having.
I personally always enjoy this episode, the comedy to me is extremely funny and I do enjoy seeing characters not acting like they normally would. Also always enjoy seeing Sarah Michelle playing a more light hearted Buffy in these sort of episodes.
Oh, and another thing I forgot the actor who played R.J. Was older then Sarah in real life, so when they are making out I do try and remember the ages in real life aren't that different. Probably why that scenes never really bothered me as I just take it as the lengths Buffy would go to when trying to win R.J off Dawn.
That was fun XD And yes, each girl or woman reacts to him according to their personalities. I like the detail of the older brother complaining about RJ writing poetry with Spike in the room. Hopefully, RJ's was better than Spike's...
Haha. Yes, I realised it was their personalities in the edit. I think I recall inserting some text about that into the outro. It didn't occur to me during the reaction. That's funny.
RJ didn't know about the jacket's power, he was just getting ready to leave when he put it on in the principal's office waiting area. He's kind of clueless, thinking he's just good with the gals.
Definitely a very funny episode. Glad you enjoyed it. I watched Season 7 on DVD much later than I had watched seasons 1-6. When I got the DVD set, I sort of wanted to rush to the end. I was thinking, "I have to get to the finale. Why are we wasting time with goofy stuff? Got to beat the bad guys, whoever that is." These days, you could take 22 episodes of one of these things and work it into five hour-long Stranger Things style episodes.
Aw man, this episode is so goofy and funny. I love it! A real throw-back to the earlier, lighter seasons. I know it's probably quite problematic by today's standards (after all, if RJ was a young woman instead, then this would have never been made!) but eh, I just like to enjoy the silliness 😊 Buffy: Willow, you're a gay woman. ......... Buffy: ...And he's not (?!) Ha! Love that line 😂
Sorry I'm two days late as I like to watch reactions the day of, but Wifi isn't great on vacation destination location. I feel like its somewhat good as many reaction viewers recently seem to have reacted to this episode.
Bless you. No need to apologize, these reactions aren't going anywhere (well, unless they're blocked, lol), there's no rush to watch them. I just appreciate that you do watch them. ❤️
It was great to see you enjoy the comedy in this one so much. I think Him was a rehash of the much superior Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered. Some obviously funny comedic moments, but series 7 could have done without this. I suppose one could gather the jealousy that exists among siblings and teenage infatuation as shown in the episode but overall one of the weaker episodes of the whole show. OK it obviously has its very funny moments due to the nature of the episode, but a real filler to be honest.
This episode is cringey and would fail today. I usually skip it in rewatches. If it were Wood, Spike and Xander going after Dawn...it'd have been a whole other situation. Did anyone let you know that the actor playing RJ is actually two years older than SMG?
Same. I just cringe so much at the accurate portrayal of Dawn's crush and how they have her melt down... The turn to self-termination is very disturbing. Others ready to commit murder, larceny, transmogrification... It's funny, but I found it simultaneously a bit too silly and a bit too dark to really enjoy it.
@@ernesthakey3396 At the time, of course, I thought it was HILARIOUS. But, like most shows that aired at that time, I'm finding that it's either me or them who didn't age well. The episode is still really popular though! I sometimes skip during rewatch.

It was a really great scene. 👍

I Agree.
Yep, Once More With Feeling was s6e07, and this was s7e06, so almost exactly 1 year later.
This is the funniest episode of Buffy hands down

Your take on Willow's plan (Spike and Xander attracted to a female RJ) would've been hilarious if the story had gone that direction
Haha. I really thought they were gonna do that.
I know most people don't like this episode but I find it hilarious 😂
Me too! Along with Andrew's 'video diary' episode, definitely the funniest one of the season for me. 👍

Yeah, I figured that was probably the case. Poor guy. That said, it didn't quite have the same effect on his life as it did Xander's that time. 😂
@@jaypeakay5864 yeah, Xander should have known better! But he definitely learned a lesson from that experience...

I never thought about it, but is the woman dancing in 4:22 the same woman that caught fire in the Witch episode of season 1?
I love this episode! So much fun. ❤

I just really enjoy the humour in this show, possibly more so than any other thing, as good as the other stuff is.

I can see your point, but I still really enjoyed it. Haha. Yes, someone else has mentioned it. That sits a little better, I guess.
