- I decided that I wanted a chilled campsite camp and coupled it together with a lovely bike ride in the Yorkshire sunshine. Camp fire, beer and cooking... What more could you want from life!

We were there last October in our Campervan we had a weekend on site 25th February absolutely love this site the pizza is fantastic 💜

Had to laugh about suddenly realising you were alone and no outside lighting. I did that at a pub stop - parked as far away as I could, set everything up & it felt great during the day. Night time - pitch black, no one around & field was next to a graveyard. Once you shut the van up though you forget all that 🤣
Who needs to go abroad when thats on your doorstep. No brainer.xxx god bless.xxx

Great video. Shame bar was closed, had a great couple of nights in there last November. Hope it’s open when I’m there next weekend, otherwise I’ll have to walk to Austwick for a beer.

Great video Colin one of my favs. In fact so much so we have booked two nights at that site in may. We are heading to the Derbyshire dubs festival that week for 4 days and 3 nights so was looking for an excuse to book a couple of nights on the way down. Place looks perfect. £58 for two nights for the both of us. Which is cool. Never used my camp fire thing yet too so you have inspired me to get that done.

I have one of the seatshelfs - so far it's the best thing I've bought for my van, highly recommend them, and the quality of the workmanship is awesome.

Loved the ride and camp format 😀 I love coming up to Yorkshire and riding my bike, it’s just a shame that I have to stay with my mother-in-law 😆

Driven by that campsite while going to Orcaber at the other end of that lane. Also a great campsite but no heated floors in the showers.
When you go back I recommend going to the courtyard dairy just down the road. They let you try various cheeses and have a wine shop as well. We had a wine and cheese night around a campfire. Amazing night.
Got to love camping experiences like that and the one you had here.
Hi Colin ... on your recommendation ... I’ve now booked 3 nights here at Dalebridge, along with my T6, ebike, fire pit and induction hob ... keep up all the excellent and entertaining videos.
We have the same heater as you I think and it does the same heats for so long then switches off and later on it comes back on. Think there is a thermostat built in so it doesn’t overheat. Hope that helps, love watching your channel, enjoy your travels.
Great Vlog as usual Colin. Will def book there soon. We use an electric heater like yours when hooked up rather than the Diesel one. We only put it at hot on 1 setting and not on 2 which blows the fuse. 😃
was ih that pitch saturday, wood fired pizzas from the bar is a must at weekends.

Hi Colin, those fan heaters can turn off when in an inclosed space if they get too warm. I had the same problem years ago while trying to dry the inside of a very soggy Passat. The fan heater outlet was too close to something so the fan shut down.

You sure the heaters not got a thermostat and it’s set really low. Hence why it cut out and back in!!

We are moving back to Yorkshire. Although we are softie southerners we love the Dales

Hi Colin, you’ll probably find that the heater has a thermostat switch and it cut out when it reached temperature. Throw it outside, let it cool, switch it back on. If it works then it’s thermostat, if it doesn’t then it’s gremlins and can only be cured by washing the inside of your throaticles with Laphroaig neck warmer.
One day, I’ll share the embarrassing story of the brand new 240v heater that worked in our kitchen but not in the van and the amount of cheek redness I suffered after I tried to return it, and the collapsing chairs I bought (used once) back to the store that may (or may not) have sold them to us.
It needs a beer and a fire pit (and a small brown Scottish wine for added effect) to tell the tale so I’ll look out for you.

Mint vid, I do a bit of gravelling and road riding. What were those magnetic glass and cup things to put int van? Plus a while back you put some Milton tablets in your water system, do you run it through the whole system a few times then rinse out.? Is it then all good to drink?! Thanks in advance ✌️✌️🙏🙏

Coffee tip!!!! - I spotted at 23.14 that your aeropress was pretty much drained before you plunged it. I dunno if you know this (I'm sorry if you do) If you stick the plunger about 10mm in as soon as the hot water goes in it holds pretty much all your coffee in the chamber of the aeropress for superior and extended percolation in the nation for the duration of the caffeination it also means you can swill it around when it's like that rather than stirring it and muckying a spoon up then after your three to five mins you can drop the badboy whilst making strenuous noises like I do. I honestly can't fault anything else you do though and you still got a like from me

Thanks for the videos it’s nice going along with your adventures. When your using the van and there are two of you ,where does the bike go at night , I use a sprinter because I couldn’t work out two people and bike inside ( not keeping expensive/ easily stolen bike on the outside )
I’m a keen cyclist and every event I go to 3/4 of people have T5/6. And I’ve now got a Caddy just for solo trips
Hey Neil, on this occasion I left it outside the van, (nobody about) but I try search campsites that have bike stores or bike locks for me to keep it safe at. Or I'll chain it to my alloy wheel, I'll hear if anyone tries to pinch it in the night as the chain is massive (one for a motorbike)

It is mate, their is a field just off the road, then the one I was in that's set further back. Probably better to get the field at the back re: road noise

Ah thanks so much,yes it was the thermostat. I tried it at home and it did the same thing :)

I'd have probably not burned through as much wood as quickly as I did if Id have used it too, the washing machine drum is great but it fly's through the wood..

Haha no buddy, they are all in last week's video matey! I'm just making videos for the channel and because I work mainly on weekends I can go during the week, but Michelle works and Olivia goes to school so they can't come on some of the trips etc :)
