  • This model was made from aerial imaging captured from a DJI Phantom 3 Pro flown in a manual flight and map processed the images through Drone Deploy (see Sketchfab model here to explore more: skfb.ly/KVA9) The animation was made with Adobe After Effects CC and Maxon Cinema 4D Lite.
The location is on Treasure Island in San Francisco, CA - both abandoned buildings were Navy barracks for many years (Cosson Hall and Sage Hall).

Very nice work. I was stationed there for ET-A school in 1970-71 when these two barracks (more like residence halls) were nearly new. They had vending machines that sold beer for a quarter in the common areas. Went there with my son to visit in 2011. The buildings were, of course, all boarded up and an official looking black sedan stopped nearby, observing us through tinted windows. We decided not to try and get inside, but it would have been an emotional and nostalgic experience, I'm sure. Here are links to some pictures for other veterans who visit here:

    Hey nice 3D model!
When you say manual flight what mode on the camera did you use ? Did you just fly over and around the building without any programmed fly ?
