I remember someone on reddit a few years ago was pitching an alternate interpretation where Henrey and William are the same person, but it's a Fight Club situation.

It's revealed like 2/3rds of the way through that two main characters, Jack and Tyler, are actually the same guy. Tyler is an alternate personality/hallucination in Jack's head. I think the idea that William Afton isn't actually real, and it's just Henry doing terrible things and not understanding that he's the one doing them is cool idea that I think could've worked if the story was more Henry focused and less Afton focused.
