    You have an AMAZING library!!! We live in a small town and we use the library a lot but I have trouble finding books a lot of the time. But I love exploring and letting the kids pick out what they want. ❤ Great Haul!!!

      Thank you! I love perusing the shelves. I live in a city that has multiple library branches, so sometimes I have to request a transfer from one of the other libraries, but we definitely have access to a really great selection. I’m so thankful for it!

    I love the idea of a Homeschool library haul. It hard to know what books are available in the library..getting the inside view of a book really helps finding books eaaier

      There’s a site called the bundled book. Used books and you can request certain ones. We just got a few bundles from them and they’re great.

    Loved this one!! Thanks for sharing!
    We just moved from a suburb of a big city (with access to the big city’s multi level fabulous library) to a very small town with a library whose children’s section could fit in my kitchen 😭.
    Similar to you, our homeschool relies HEAVILY on the public library. I have no idea how I’m going to manage this coming year!! It’s going to be a challenge!
    Also!! Tell us how you get all these books home?? Giant library bag? A dolly 🤣?
    I have a really strong and huge bag from pottery barn that I use for library trips, but even that wouldn’t handle all you had!!

    • @TheHomeschoolConvert
      @TheHomeschoolConvert  3 роки тому +1

      😂 Multiple bags, sometimes multiple trips to the car, haha. If a librarian sees that one bag is full, they’ll usually let me keep it up front until I’m done. I’ve considered taking my foldable wagon. 😅🤣
      I hope you’re able to make the smaller library work! Do they do interlibrary loans? I know that can take a while sometimes, but perhaps you could plan ahead for the books you *really* want or need for schooling? Hope you can figure something out! I know that’s got to be a huge adjustment.

    Library hauls are life. We have the DK Arts book on our wishlist. The Lonely planet atlas I bought last month get it. The Caribbean is really highlighted in geography books. We love books. We get so much each time we go. The Librarian said to me one month you can only get 50 books and I said "it's ok we have 3 library cards". Our family loves books.

    Thanks for suggesting this collab! We are definitely lacking in our art books so I'm excited you featured some of those. I definitely watched this with my library site up so I'm expecting a number of these to be highlighted in my next library haul! I'm actually very surprised to find that we have zero overlap in our books this time, it just goes to show how many amazing books there are out there. Thanks again for this collab, let's definitely do it again some time!

    • @TheHomeschoolConvert
      @TheHomeschoolConvert  3 роки тому +1

      I would love that!! I wondered if we would have any overlap. I agree with you that it shows how many awesome books are out there! I don’t know how we’d homeschool without all the amazing free resources from our library. I know you use Audible, but do you ever check out audio books from your library on the Libby app? I can’t remember if you’ve ever mentioned that on your channel, but it’s an invaluable resource for us. I just always forget to mention audio books in these videos. Also, I really appreciated your tip for how you search Usborne books and will definitely be using it myself!

      @@TheHomeschoolConvert yes! Our library uses Libby and Hoopla and we use them a ton! I generally only purchase an audiobook if our library doesn't have it or the wait is really long.

    My favorite Atlas is by Rand McNally. It’s called Student World Atlas: Extended U.S. Bonus Section. It’s exactly what I was looking for! I put flags (page markers) on every political map. Each continent has every country and capital labeled, which is what I wanted. It also has physical maps and some facts about the areas. It explains time zones, hemispheres, land and water types, and climates.

    Love this! I had a couple on my wishlist to purchase but definitely added them to my library wishlist for us to look for next time we go too. We have the know nonsense guide to space and the grammar one has eluded me on finding for a good deal so I will definitely be seeing if our library has them ( not sure why it didn’t cross my mind before), thank you for sharing!

      I’ve had the same problem trying to find The Know-Nonsense Grammar Guide. I’d love to purchase it, but it’s definitely hard to track down, especially for a reasonable price.

    I keep trying to use the 15% off code for thrift books so I can place my big order under you but it’s not working. It says this coupon has already been used. Is there a different coupon I can use?! Thank you so much!

    • @TheHomeschoolConvert
      @TheHomeschoolConvert  3 роки тому

      Sorry about that! I just looked, and my shareable coupon code can only be used 5 times, and it’s reached its limit. I’ll have to remove it from my description boxes. Try the code “WELCOME.” Sometimes that works for new purchasers. If not, if you do a Google search, there are a lot of people’s codes out there. You may just have to keep trying one until you get one that works. Hope that helps!

    • @TheHomeschoolConvert
      @TheHomeschoolConvert  3 роки тому

      You’re not crazy, haha! I did. I ran a channel called The Mommy Archives, which then changed to Live well, Jess when I felt like I was ready to do different content. I had taken a pretty long hiatus on UA-cam, started homeschooling in the meantime, and wanted to start afresh to share this new passion.
