Team Eurosafe Blue Atlantics🇱🇺!
Monday 29th January at 19:59 local time, Ineke Karrenbelt, Ingrid Voorn, Margot Vries and Marije Van De Bor crossed the finish line of the World’s Toughest Row in a time of 47 days, 15 hours and 29 minutes after quite a struggle to get into the harbour. However, in the end our four dutch women pulled hard and made their way in! Flares lit up the sky while family and friends were cheering from the fort next to the finish line. It poured down with rain most of the evening but when you see those flares in the air it does not matter at all! It only means one more team and their boat ‘Sirens Quest’, is safe back on land and the team could join each other in a team hug.
As the rest of the fleet, the first period of the race was extremely tough with hard weather and extreme conditions testing the team on all fronts. One thing the team wanted to do was to do a challenge out of the ordinary and to prove to themselves that they could actually do this. Marije said, “We are proud and Im so proud of this team. We said to each other: we start as friends and we finish as friends, and thats what we did!” ☺️
