Just watched the series you guys did last summer. Nice to see people enjoy the scenery we take for granted every day. The worst part of living here is the long ride out. Planning a trip to Nova Scotia this summer on my FJR 1300. Hopefully I enjoy my trip like you guys did. Enjoy the road..
Yessir! Such a cool area, and neat to see the retired planes. Man I love the idea of 300km of woods, but I suppose it would get a bit repetitive. And 392km to a tank?! Wowzers, that’s impressive, and even more for the KLR to not use oil, good stuff! Awesome trip so far, minus the rain of course, thanks for sharing! Cheers!
It’s an amazing place to ride through and I didn’t get bored of the scenery at all. It just doesn’t produce very interesting footage because it really does look the same for hours. The seclusion is the best part of this trip. You can go hours without seeing another soul and there’s no cell coverage. Awesome way to truly get away. Cheers!
Yep. Welcome to Labrador. All things considered we really lucked out because for the most part the rain seemed to let up whenever we stopped to look at anything. Cheers!
Yeah, on a trip this long you’re going to have to deal with rain at some point. Really we just didn’t feel like setting up our tents and cooking in the rain. Luckily the rain held off in Cartwright long enough for us to set up our tents and have a freeze dried meal. It started to pour down just minutes after we went to bed. The next few days were decent weather. Cheers!
I remember that Happy Vally bridge . I honestly did not think I was going to make it across and I was riding street tires on the PC . Worse grated bridge I ever crossed . Yes maybe the size of the grates was the issue but I was too busy focusing on the bike steering every which way . Lol , I thought it was just me but I am somewhat glad that someone else noticed that also . There should be a sign on either end of the bridge warning bikers maybe .
Yeah, steel grated bridges are always a little sketchy but this one was definitely the trickiest I’ve ever crossed. The bike was wobbling all over the place!
I shared your journey my friend. Labrador Highway is a challenge I have thought about for years but never got around to doing. I'm not sure just how much I would enjoy doing 600kms of gravel at a time. Rain is to be expected on those trips, but I bet in the end you don't regret it!
Thanks so much! The only sections of the main route that remain unpaved are about 100kms between Manic Cinq and Relais Gabriel and about 75kms between Fire Lake and Fermont. We made a point to go to every little community we could which added some more dirt riding. It really is an amazing ride. Cheers!
There is a great Army Exercise up in Goose Bay called Northern Sojourn that I've always wanted to go on. It's done in the winter but I guess it's super fun and challenging. You were totally fine on the base. There's usually gates and staff at any point where you might enter a range or training area. The land up there is so beautiful. I hope I get to visit some of these places someday soon. Cheers buddy.
Yeah, nobody seemed to even notice us. I guess I’m just used to CFB Greenwood and Camp Aldershot where you can’t get anywhere without having to check in. Cheers!
I’m not sure of the brand but in true KLR rider form it isn’t motorcycle branded gear. It’s a standard issue Nova Scotia Power Corp set that they provide to their linemen. 😂 You won’t find it at fortnine or revzilla, but your local construction safety store would likely carry it. I’m pretty sure he got it at Mark’s Work Warehouse. Thanks for watching!

Your usual high standard video and humorous narration! Looking forward to the next chapter.
Thanks so much! The next few days along the southern Labrador coast were amazing. I can’t wait to share them. Cheers!
Nice video and different area to visit in Canada Alain & Yellow
Thanks so much! It’s an amazing ride for sure. Cheers!

Following the Lab ride, sometimes it's best to just enjoy the rain...lol
