    Honestly, we should have these all across the country connecting cities and states. You can get all across Europe by train alone. Imagine how much the US could benefit from a high speed rail system or just more passenger rail systems in general. It'd probably fix our traffic problem.

      My city of Jacksonville proposed a commuter train service back in 2017 and I've been anxiously waiting for updates ever since. Just a few weeks ago, Jacksonville announced they're replacing their worthless monorail system with driverless cars... Unbelievable.

      @@mworld2611 Not only that but they're building a toll road and rebuilding a bridge so soon enough I'll be paying to get across the St Johns river on a crowded route which used to be free. Their proposed train network would've connected all the suburbs and towns in the region which would save miles on my car if I took a train, and make driving more enjoyable when I do drive

      From Cocoa to MCO, there will be no crossovers of roadways, allowing for high speeds. Between West Palm Beach and Cocoa, it will be limited because of the periodic road crossovers. Roaming Railfan on UA-cam has some great footage and info on the entire project.

    Im from Denver and we have one of the best light rail systems throughout the Entire Denver metro. With how florida has 50% more people in only 25% the space of CO, Central Florida needs a train system. With how populated Florida is here there is hardly any transportation.

    I've seen the proposed routes to try and get this train into town and it really is not a good idea to misuse high(er) speed rail like this. If you want train service into downtown (sort of), you are better off having a local train that connects parts, parts of downtown, and the airport train station. Run the Siemens double decker Mireo (diesel version) between the Orlando station, downtown, and the parks. It is the appropriate train for the job.

    So they are going to spend millions of dollars laying travk and building a station when there is track into Tampa with a station?

    • @BIoknight000
      @BIoknight000 2 роки тому +15

      Tracks that are grade-separated allow for higher speeds and for less delays from having to allow cars to cross. They're also safer
      Edit: Also much of that track is owned by freight companies that almost certainly would give priority to their own trains rather than some passenger train. This happens on much of the lines that Amtrak operates and it's a large part of why Amtrak trains are late. And that track is usually not suitable for the speeds that Brightline wants to run their trains at
