- I decided when I woke up this morning to work on a song that need stereo restructuring so I picked this one. The stereo version released was one of the most cockeyed stereo mixing I've had to deal with. Took me about 5 hours for this overhaul but Iike the finished product. Hope you like it!

How can anyone be sad listening to this song? Brings back memories of my childhood...definitely a more laid back time. Great job on the re-master. It sounds great! It's 1967 all over again!
The Rain, the Park & Other Things" is a psychedelic pop song with music and lyrics co-written by Artie Kornfeld and Steve Duboff. It was recorded by the pop band The Cowsills, and included on their 1967 album The Cowsills (MGM E/SE-4498). Released as a single, the song reached #2 on the Billboard charts.

Remember this in autumn 67. Was 10 yrs. Old then and Vietnam was getting at a high pitch!
I remember I tried to sing this song with my sister. But, all we could remember was the Chorus, so we sucked. And my friend said so. But, if we had known the words to this beautiful song that was so alive, we would have been better. But, I cannot duplicate Dusty Springfield .. she stands in a class all of her own. Hid bless her now in her eternal resting place after giving so much music as her legacy.
Dig this, this morning as I was getting dressed I told Alexa to play this song, and here I see this in my subscribed list 12 hours later

This song was originally called "The Flower Girl" but song writers Artie Kornfield and Steve Duboff were encouraged by one
of the Producers to change the title because it was too similar to another song already on the charts- Scott McKenzie's
"San Francisco( Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair).
My brother once gave one of the brothers a ticket for speeding. Somehow I feel close to them! Great job, by the way.

I've been binge listening to the songs on your UA-cam channel. It brings back memories of growing up in the 60's and 70's with a 9-volt transistor radio under my pillow listening to these songs on the radio while falling asleep.

Wow! All I can say is you do terrific work. Just amazing. Thanks for all the work you put into this great music from a bygone era. Played in some little Garage Bands in the mid to late 60's when I was 15, 16 years old and man do I remember this music. Made me happy then and still does. Rock truly was still young in those days. Exciting times they were. Still enjoy playing along to all of it.
I do miss one thing. In the original version the bass in the left channel was very clear and well defined. You could clearly hear that the studio bassist played it with a pick. Here, it is subdued to the point of barely being noticable. I listened to this and the original on full size studio headphones. I love most all of your work Kenn, (of special note, Little Girl by the Syndicate of Sound. Fantastic enhancement). but to my ears, this element dimished the mix.
I agree. This is an excellent enhancement but that bass was the cornerstone of this song and it has been almost completely muted away.
It's UA-cam that strips both the bass and the volume out of the original wave file.
I've had other people wonder why UA-cam does this. Many of my uploads sound like a transistor radio broadcast compared to the original wave file. Sorry guys!

This is the first time I have heard this version and it sounded way different to the mono version, sometimes the mono version sounds better for some of the old 60's stuff. But I like this one for sure, there is so many different sounds I can hear similar if you listen though way better speakers or headphones.

Well done Maestro Mix Alot, the sound quality is beautiful, a song of my youth from Junior High School.
A single I inherited as a kid - this record and a few others made me want to sing in harmony. I think it would be fun to - well, fun. Let me think a bit... no, it's going to be a chore to break this up into SATB or TTBB, but I'll mix it with a few others like Indian Lake and Hair.

Nice job in clarity on this. Could you possibly do their "Love American Style" theme? It was never quite up to the quality I would've liked. I think they got sloppy on the mixing because it was just for the TV show intro which was mono back in the day.

As mentioned in other comments, the bass does not come through like it did in the original. That's a shame because a good bass line really anchors a song.

I never understood the name 'Cowsills". Is it part cowlick (hair that sticks up like Alfalfa's) and window sill (where dirt gathers)? they sound clean.
It is the family's last name. They were a family group of siblings and a mom I believe.
