36:55 “Peavey, good job!” Ah ah. The founder used to work for the army, no wonder. I’ve beaten my backstage plus during its miserable life, I mean beaten. Survived endless parties, I’ve thrown the amp in the car’s trunk as it was garbage, it never broke. I’m kind of stunt. Yeah, good job Peavey. I was upset that we didn’t have much gear accessible in the 80/90’s except from condescending seller at mtl Steve’s store who kept their knowledge for themselves, used it only to sell you stuff or to impress you. I succeeded top get Hendrix sound by maxing the gain and boost the input with made in Taiwan SD1 with a Morley Wah into the Peavey. I thought, I invented something not knowing it was exactly the purpose of the SD1, instead of a unboost plane Jimi Page imitation. Great video, never heard of this amp before.
Found my new favorite UA-cam channel! Love your presentation style, I'dlove to have you follow me around and narrate my day. Oh and carry my amps for me :P
Sending hydrogen peroxide and bandaids your way 😅 I appreciate the offer on the footswitchable gain, but i think I’m more of a “set it and forget it” kinda guy when it comes to the gain channel in general. Maybe the next time I bring it back I will have changed my mind 😂 Also, i was struggling with feedback that I forgot to mention. Not sure if the microphonic tubes could have been part of that, but I’m open to any suggestions so deal with them in the meantime! Not sure if you recommend those rubber band style dampeners for the power tubes.
Haha sorry about the sync issues with the contemporaneous dialog. Your preamp tubes are causing the microphonic noises. They are all from the early 90’s and all but 1 are original to the amp!
Like that you have more than 1 Oscilloscopes ,my heathkit just wont play well now so time to investigate the issue but im just a old Electrician that thinks he knows what hes doing, really surprised that theres only 4 6L6s for 120w but thats why im here to live and learn, and also to be a ass clown , looked it up in German and yes im still Ass Klown so there ya go
If you dig around that scope, be aware there’s over 5kv waiting to end you in there! Do you have a trace at all? Dude I learn every day! I couldn’t do what you do. I tried installing new sockets in the house and lost the switching function of the light switch 😂. If my meter can’t measure it right in front of me, I’m screwed.
@@thatampguy The heathkit was a impulse buy and not expensive ,but I did mostly Commercial and Industrial work ,and looking forward to my pension but looking back I should have gone to doing Electronic work instead
@@thatampguy i do have a trace but it wont line up when trying to center it ,it may be user error, no big deal I have a long way to go in trouble shooting things
HERE WE GOOOO!
🍿🥤
Never thought disk herniation could sound so good! My how gloriously they cry for help 🤣

Great video, never heard of this amp before.
Loved hearing your story! Old peavey gear was built like military hardware!
Very nice! Cheers
🍻🍻
It's a beast!
Yeasssss
VTM > 5150. Fight me!
🤘🏽
No arguments from me there!
@BradsGuitarGarage 👴🏼
I had one of these in the early 90s actually it was the vtm60 and it without a doubt is heavy as f*"*

Lmao I just wanted my own theme music to follow me around 😂😂😂
The cab weighs 1000 pounds the chassis 10 pounds..... But what a killer amp! I have the VTM 60 it's really powerful!
The 60w is the sweet spot!
It sounds like you have an amazing guitar. Wood and pickups please.
Black limba, Dimarzio Gravity Storm and 54 pro pickups in this one!
Call me weird, but I do like peeling that glue off components on old Peavey’s.
Satisfying stuff 😊
Same 😂
Just catching up with your video avalanche.
Man, that thing has some beefy low end. Drooling over here 🤤
Rock on 🎸❤️🤘🏻
@TheMorganOrgan Aw yeah

I have an Ampeg Reverberocket 212 Combo..It is a Sleeper BEAST!!! Have you run into one of these?
I like em!
What guitar is that? I like the tuners.
It’s a parts guitar! Thank you very much. I’ll have to do a quick video on it. 🤘🏽
@@thatampguyyes, please do - I was thinking the same thing. ❤🤘🏻🎸

@joemcgraw5529 we all have regrets. Believe me 😳. Shoot me a message and I’ll see if I can help.

@joemcgraw5529 it won’t move vertically or horizontally when adjusting its position?
Patrick Warburton?
😂 I’m glad we are finally moving off of Johnny Bravo.
I was thinking Daran Norris
