In honor of my one year anniversary on UA-cam, I finally went back and watched my very first video...I want to delete it so badly 😭 Anyway, in this video I walked you guys through my first day of senior year and my new homeschool routine. It was pretty chill (especially compared to last year 🥲) but it was overall a productive day. A lot of you guys ask me how I manage to get my work done and I always say that the key is to make to-do lists. As you saw in this video, I had a to-do list and it helped me stay on task so much!! I recommend making one everyday. I hope this video motivated you guys to get your assignments done! You can do it!!

I’ve been homeschooled for about 3 years, and one thing I have struggled the most with is maintaining a balanced schedule. This video is really motivating!

@@MukbangMondays Everything was good for me other than the fact that I have adhd so it was hard to focus and because of my lack of social interaction I got a little depresso expresso. But if you like to be alone then I feel like you would like it. I took joy in being alone sometimes because I got to be my creative self. Also my brother was homeschooled too with me so I felt a little less alone.

I lovedddd this! I am in 7th grade this year and I did homeschool for 4th and 5th. I only stayed in person for 6th and now I am returning back to homeschool for 7th grade because of my mental health and physical health as well, I am always sick and I have ran out of absent exuses for the year, which they give you 10 of. I missed homeschool so much and today was my first day. It's so good to be back and I think I am going to stay homeschooled until high school at least, or maybe until I graduate. I am a new subsrciber and your videos bring me so much motivation! ❤

Same I’m also home schooled and idk if this is all online school programs but they all switched the curriculum to be mostly quizzes and test which sucks there no hands on or interactive assignments

I’m going to 7th grade this September and I really want to do homeschool since the public school environment is really stressful and overstimulating to me and Ive had panic attacks because of it, but the only online classes I can take are from private schools and it’s expensive so im tryna convince my parents lol. Sometimes it can be like that! But to keep that from happening I tried to switch things up everyday. For example, I would try a different schedule or work in a new environment. Little things like that can really help!

Hi I’m a high school student who is struggling at school (not grade wise, but the amount of energy that it requires, all of the extra curricular and activities) and I recently got some professional help and agreed that it would be better if I stayed home for a break, and thankfully that was kind of my intention because i thought it would be good for me and also I know that I can use my time wisely and I can learn the things that I am interested in. My mom seems to be supportive of the idea but my dad is not. I have suggested homeschooling before when I experienced stress and my dad especially went mad because in his eyes homeschooling is not really schooling and that I wouldn’t get enough socializing. His not even taking my mental illness seriously and thinking that I am just soft and taking time off is just useless. I just would love if you’d (or anyone who sees the comment and is homeschooled or knows something about it )have some advice on how I can persuade them or how I can show them that home schooling is actually legit or something like that. I’d appreciate anything really. I hope you see this comment. I also liked you video a lot ❤️

Homeschooling is absolutely real school. I used an online program called Excel High School and I received a physical diploma. I was also able to graduate early and get into a regular university. I took AP classes and passed my exams, I also took honors classes. A lot of programs have really unique classes that you can’t always get in physical school, which I think is cool. It allows you to take classes that are interesting to you. The workload was pretty much equal to what it is in regular school. So, homeschooling/ online school is absolutely legitimate.
Socializing is also completely possible. Many areas have homeschool co-ops where you can meet other homeschooled kids. You can play sports, volunteer, find clubs, anything is possible but you may have to look a little harder!
I can testify that homeschooling can be good for you. Like you, I left school because I was struggling mentally. Your experience is valid!! 💓 I’m really sad that your dad isn’t as supportive but hopefully he comes around. At the end of the day, our parents do care for us. He wants to do what’s best for you! Keep talking to him and maybe have your mom talk to him too!
You can also show him videos from homeschoolers so he can see what it is actually like. My mom watched a lot of videos like that before I started and it helped her get an idea for what my life would look like.

I’ve just recently started highschool and so I’m in my freshman yr but I already feel drained and I rly want to be homeschooled. I need to wake up at 5:30 every day since I live far away from my school and I can’t go to bed any earlier than midnight cuz then I can’t fall asleep so I get only 5 hrs of sleep. My school ends at 3:30 but by the time I get home it’s close to 5 cuz of traffic. Then I have to do homework and study . I have 6 tests within 5 days this week. All big unit exams. On top of all this I’m now struggling with eating(I think I have arfid) and now idk how I’m gonna do all that plus the stress of eating. My dad already payed for this school tho so now idk what to do and he would be so mad to hear I hate it
@@theirishgalplayz2924 I really can't tell you anything else than that I truly feel you. I had almost the same / identical experience than you. And I also know from experience that what you just said is merely just the physical burden and not the emotional burden. It's so tiering and when ever I mention it to my parents, for me at least they say that they are tired too and that I have nothing to wine about. But I'm not even trying to complain anymore it feels like this way is the only way that i can get SOME attention. I know that our parents generations experienced something different and it was and is hard and tiering too, but that doesn't mean that we aren't tired as well. They don't know how much energy it requires to just having to socialize and having useless small talks because at school, your business isn't your business anymore. It is just simply SO draining and exhausting and the thing is after a long day of school I cannot just go home and crawl into my bed no. I have to write endless homework and reports, and that is not even enough because I still need time to study. The amount of work that you are required to do, the amount of time and energy required to this is just so much and its so overwhelming and it feels endless. And for me as well, I had eating disorder as well. Both anorexia and binge eating. I still cannot recover from it. I lost so much weight because of mean comments from my father and at one point something went off and suddenly I couldn't stop eating. I feel like no matter what, both emotionally and physically, I will never satisfy my parents. I'm really sorry that you had bad experience and I hope as we who people that struggle can find a solution because WE DESEVE IT.

Gurly ima be starting homeschooling soon because my school is so strict about absences. This year i have had asthsma,spine,and eye problems but the school just doesnt get that and honestly i dont think they care. Here’s a quote from their site: “As long as you meet Excel's minimum admission requirements and have determined that you would be a great online student, we invite students from any location around the world to enroll at Excel High School.” I would link their website for you but any links that aren’t from UA-cam tend to get deleted 😭 For more detailed information I would definitely recommend going to their website and clicking on the section that says “Admissions” I hope this helps!! 🩷🩷🩷

Hmmmm I think I liked / disliked certain aspects of both, BUT homeschooling wins for me lol. If my old school wasn’t so negative, I probably would’ve liked going, but it was just such a horrible experience 😭 I told my mom that I really wouldn’t have minded going back to regular school if there were better options. Unfortunately, a lot of the schools in my area aren’t that good 😅 So, homeschool for the win lol

Thanks for sharing! Random question, but do Excel Online lessons ever include offline work, like projects, science experiments, etc.? My son is homeschooled and will start using an online school next year. We’re still deciding between Excel and another school.
I would not choose Excel if you’re looking for offline work. They changed the curriculum this year and I had absolutely NO offline work. As someone who enjoys projects and hands-on learning, it was honestly disappointing. I would definitely look into your other school of choice! Hope this helps!

Hi!! The transition definitely had its ups and downs but it wasn’t too bad. I was in physical school for ten years so it was a little difficult to adjust at first lol. My advice is to take things day by day. Don’t stress too much and don’t beat yourself up if things are hard at first. I always start my day with a simple to-do list and that helps a lot! Starting the day with a plan makes things way easier. Let me know if there’s anything else! 🩷🩷

I think it’s a pretty average amount of work honestly. Each class takes me about 1-2 hours to finish. It’s not very different from regular school when it comes to the amount of work.
