A year in, now, and still I love my Bull Shark! I really like the new Whale Shark, too...a lot of the same features, including interchangeable drives...just bigger. The 4 screw holes just forward of the drive well are mounting points for the propeller drive yoke, and the removeable plate just forward of the rudder is an access hatch to the steering cables. Subbed...Stay Safe!
Thank you for the review. I spoke to the owner today at Hammerhead and hopefully they can ship out to California. God Bless and keep up the good work! 👍
I see in your video looks like the left latch that locks down the pedal drive broke. I had the same issue today, did you just replace it with the same style or upgrade it to something a little more durable? If so what did you do?
Yeah, that was their old style that was prone to breaking. He didn't have any replacements for that, so I just swapped out the whole insert to the newer design which has been much more durable
@@connercabal4933 It was from hammerhead kayaks. I know the owner and their main facility is only 30 minutes from my house. My bullshark is one of their original models and he's made a lot of improvements since then which included redesigning the weak latch.
@@emeraldtidesoutdoors i must have the new version of the latch then, they just sent me another one since mine broke if it happens again (hopefully not) i may just buy the latch for the hobie and install it. Good to hear you haven’t had any issues since then
Yeah, I talk about it in the video. I paid $800 for it lightly used. They used to be $1200 but the price has gone up due to some upgrades and inflation
People need to stop saying that this is a $800 kayak. the manufacturer is only offering it for 50% off to get it on the market, thats limited time. This kayak sells for $1600. Now $1600 seems like a good price for a pedal drive but please stop saying it is an $800 kayak.
Having the ability to swap pedal drives is SO smart. I'm a fan of Vibe and Crescent kayaks, but I'm going to give Hammerhead a look. SO SMART!

Thank you so much! Eddie is a great guy!
share phone or online info? ty
Does the drive have the kick up/back feature like the Hobies?
No, it's identical to the 2nd gen hobie mirage drive without the kick up or 180 features
Where can you buy one? online?
Hammerhead Kayaks. You can look them up online and find their closest dealer

@@connercabal4933 I think the style is a little different for the hobie one and not interchangeable. Can't say for sure though.
