These videos are really bringing down the anxiety for me thank you! I’m just finishing up researching what rewards to offer and going through my third or fourth dose of imposter syndrome. I’m starting my campaign to go through the Halloween season since my book is very Hocus Pocus/ Something this way Comes inspired. Backer kit is sounding like a real blessing and I’m glad to be starting my first KickStarter now when there’s so many good resources and educated people around!
Thank you for the video! I'll be doing my first campaign and I'm alittle nervous, but I've been doing quite a bit of research to see what to expect. And this video is super helpful! Thank you so much!
I'm starting to plan my first Kickstarter campaign (Borderlands inspired sharp-edge dice) and this has been extremely helpful. On my way to watch your Kickstarter specific video. Thanks a lot!
This video was so incredibly helpful, honestly backer kit should pay you a fee and have it on their homescreen! It was easier to figure out what I was getting into from this video than from the whole website, it's just too overwhelming ^^' Thanks so much!!
I’m soooo glad it helped! I found the whole thing so overwhelming and confusing at first so I just wanted to share what I’d learnt and help others 🫶🏻 it gets easier the more you do it!
Thanks for this video! I have been searching for info on both Kickstarter and Backerkit and there isn’t a lot out there. A few questions, when do you initiate Backerkit? Before the campaign runs on Kickstarter, during, afterwards? And how do you link the two accounts? Is there a section in Kickstarter to link your Backerkit info?
You are welcome to set up a BackerKit account at any time, and you can link your Kickstarter campaign in your BackerKit account. But you have to wait until the campaign has ended before you can start setting up the surveys etc in BackerKit. I hope that helps!
Thank you for the super helpful video! I’m looking into doing my first pin kickstarter and I think backerkit will be waaaay easier than sorting out the shipping through kickstarter. I was just wondering, when you set up your rewards on kickstarter, how do you make it so you dont have to set a shipping fee? I cant seem to figure jt out! Thank you!! :)
I’m so glad it was helpful! I normally set my rewards to “ships anywhere in the world” as I ship internationally, but leave the shipping price as £0. I hope that helps! Good luck on your campaign!
This video was sooo helpful, thank you! 💖 I watched your KickStarter one the other day as I’m slowly but surely working towards my first campaign and I learnt so much. Quick question about the review part, you mentioned that it can take a little while, so I was wondering if it’s possible to send it for review before your campaign ends to avoid the delay? Really appreciate your help on this xx
I'm so glad it was helpful! Unfortunately you can't do anything ahead of time and have to wait until the campaign ends so that all of your rewards & backer info can be transferred over to BackerKit, but, my survey review this time took around 2 days so it didn't take as long as I thought! Good luck on your campaign!
Hey there, I have a question on the fees! I thought I add Backerkit now that my campaign finished to just have the Pre-order tool. Now it tells me though on Piricing Review that there is a campaign fee of xxx€ though I havent used Backerkit yet. Is that a fee onto the amount I originally made on my campaign and I have to pay it on top? In my understanding it would only be of the money I raise after using the tool but the open money there is scaring me from actually activating :`D
Hi there, I understand the confusion and I apologize if this wasn't clear in my video. You are correct that BackerKit charges an upfront fee based on the amount raised during your Kickstarter campaign, even if you didn't use BackerKit during your campaign. After that, there's also a 3.5% transaction fee on any funds raised through BackerKit itself (like pre-orders or add-ons). This means the fees apply both to the amount you raised during your Kickstarter campaign and to any additional funds you raise through BackerKit afterward. I hope this clarifies things for you!
@@LulaRocks Awesome. OK, one more question. So KS charges 5% fee right? So does backerkit also take a percentage of your total profit? So another 2% ish? So it comes out to about 7% total off your pledge money? Thanks!
@@TheOdiousMonk KS fee works out closer to 10% or 11%. BackerKit charges an upfront fee of 2% After that, there's also a 3.5% transaction fee on any funds raised through BackerKit itself (like pre-orders or add-ons). I hope that helps!
Thank you!! But what I really don’t get, Backerkit told me it’s just for campaigns that raised at least 50K, is that true? I raised 16K, over 200 backers, had to do everything manually. It was a night mare!!!
Great video! I vaguely knew what Backerkit was, but after your video, things are so much clearer.
I’m so glad it was helpful! 🫶🏻

Hey thanks! Do backer kit advertising cost more? Did you not you use advertising?
I've never used it to be honest so I'm not sure!
@@LulaRocksok thanks. And so you just use the email list to market to your group?
I haven’t used BackerKit during the campaign at all. I only use it post campaign to deal with surveys, shipping and fulfilment

No not at all! I’ve used it 3 times and each time raised £1,000-£3,000. I don’t know why they told you that! I bet it was so much work for you 😭
did they promote you in any way?bakerkit i mean
