I love the original virgin livery. At the time when I was a kid I had some Adidas shoes that had exactly the same cockpit scheme! Red and black with 3 white strips
Whilst you'll always find some people happy that one company has 'bitten the dust' and been replaced by another, there does seem to have been a general feeling that Virgin Trains will be sorely missed and I very much feel the same. Of course only time will tell if First Trenitalia maintain, or even improve, on the service along the WCML. As for their livery, it's different and neither good nor bad (in my eyes) although it'll take a little getting used to after 22 years of Virgin red. PS: Love the way you got your video to last 22:22......I assume that was done purposefully which, if so, was a nice touch.
Awwww Darren. great effort. must have taken ages to sort and put together. Good job it's been bad weather and your week off. Certainly never seen a rake of 3 voyagers. Dont think you have ever travelled on a pendo and I offer you again a first class day to Glasgow visiting Mossend Yard or Paisley G S and the Glasgow Underground. I pay and organise it if you provide transport to Northampton or Rugby.....Why.....Because your worth it.
Virgin were the best long haul train carrier in the uk by a mileTrains, customer service etc ..I uppe they return sonner rsther than later. Great video.
Hi mate great video mate love all the locos and the dvts on the wcml my favourite line of the old British rail network I love all the old br 25 kv electric locomotives mate clive
Virgin screwed out of continuing to operate the longest held franchise since privatisation because of their business partner Stagecoach, kinda sad really. Will miss the Virgin trains livery but I'm excited to see the renovated Class 390's.
I'm going to draw a footage I mean Virgin trains WEST COAST and East COAST all of trains to avanti WEST COAST.I am very very very very very very very very very very happy to do that.
It sure is gonna be weird traveling on the WCML and not seeing any Virgin red anymore after 20+ years of it! Even BR blue and Intercity didn't last as long. And hasn't Rugby changed beyond all recognition! I'm not a fan of the privatised railway system I and don't like some things Virgin have done, but I think it's fair to say they did a lot more than most other franchises have done, thanks in no small part to them having a long term vision for the WCML.
Lots of memories of pre-Pendolino days there. Say what you like about Virgin, but at least they brought a bit of style and personality to the rail industry; something you don't get from a lot of franchises run by faceless (and often foreign-owned) conglomerates. That said, Voyagers are still awful trains and trying to make train travel more like air travel is a bad move.
The Pendolinos I think they tried too hard to make like aircraft, but unlike most people I rather like Voyagers. Certainly they had the best of the private operator liveries
Virgin is not dead the mainline but in USA it. Virgin Brightstar we will Still missed Virgin UK and Virgin train is still Expanding from Miami to California
I don't know why but I think the Avanti livery sits better on the new 805s than the 390s. I did like the original Virgin livery, but it wouldn't have suited a Pendolino.
Tbh good riddance, glad they are out before they can implement the ultimate plan to make you buy a seat an a specific train to even give you the right to travel, wanted to remove any flexibility. The pendalinos were good, however the Voyages rattled from the beginning were far too cramped, and don't work past Exeter on windy days
thats because certain windy days when the wind is coming from a certain direction at Dawlish, the only trains that run down there is a pacer a sprinter and the cross country HST,No Castle Class HSTs or Voyagers (Info is a Cross country driver at derby who drives down there)

Love the pretendolino, and didn't know virgin had class 57s 😮
Yep, Virgin went full out with their 57s and named them all after Thunderbird vehicles and characters.
Enjoyed the first part Darren, well done for putting this together.

Because why not

Whoever thought that Voyagers were better than Mk3s was a cnut.
Voyagers are better than mark 3s
@@rabd9881 How? Noisier, smellier, less comfortable
@@chriso8485 rose tinted glasses. I will thoroughly enjoy watching mark 3s get scrapped
im not lying and no hate tp virgin but the pendolinos look better in the avanti livery
