    In this video i'll show you easy way to make a skewed chisel.
    I need a pair of them to work with cheeks (planemaking) so lets go with it!
    If you have any questions or sugestions just write a comment.

    Honest to God I've never been more inspired by any woodworker/tool maker in my entire journey...and I watch and read *a lot*.
    Thank you so much Stavros for taking the time to videotape these wonderful works of art. I for one truly appreciate every minute of it!

    I have ALWAYS wanted to cold blue my chisels. Forum posters told me I would “ruin my steel” more than they’re already being ruined by rust. You have liberated me.

    Nicely done, I am impressed that you managed to not burn the edge of those when you ground them on the bench grinder. Also a great idea to use some old chisels to make your skew chisels.

    • @StavrosGakos
      @StavrosGakos  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Troy! Bench grinder can burn the edge really quickly so whole the process needs a lot of cooling and no rush. Regards :)

    Beautiful chisels, love the handle shape
    Most of your vids don’t show enough of the sharpening of chisels and plane irons
    No need now, that was awesome, stopping to show the burr coming off...awesome
    Maybe show (I know it’s simple) the blunt chisel sharpening, I know it’s a Bill Carter technique, be nice to see that encouraged.
    Can’t wait to see you use them.

    • @StavrosGakos
      @StavrosGakos  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I don't want to boring people with my sharpening process in every video. I show it few times in older videos. I use blunt chisel very often, but i don't want to make video about it, Bill did it and it is perfect to understand for everybody :) Regards!

    Excellent work once again. When I see that there are two thumbs down markers, I wonder why? I can only suppose that there are sad and inadequate people who get some kind of satisfaction from doing this. These are almost certainly the sort of people who can't master using a knife and fork.

    Hey, thanks for sharing ! I like your videos.
    Can you tell the brand of your double sided diamond stone ? And what is the sharpening medium you are using before the stop (the blue sheet on a piece of wood) ? Is it Sanding paper ? Because I had issue when using Sanding paper to flatten chisel back : I find it round the edge, and thus I can’t get a flat back at the edge....
    Thanks!
