Your video is the only one I’ve seen that has cut a hole for the striker plate on the door frame , but I wish you would have told us how to mark at the right spot to drill that hole . That’s the information I need
I think DeWalt intentionally designed the hole saws in a f-ed up manner like that so that you basically would only use them for this purpose. I think if you buy them separately, they are more expensive. They probably didn't want people buying the kit just for the hole saws. Also, the knob getting in the way of the drill seems like a stupid design.

question, could you drill half way, then flip the guide around and drill again from the otherside? so u get a clean cut on both sides
I don’t see why not, though with the support on the back side it shouldn’t blow out much.
