On one hand, I love that there's different servers with forks and different ideas or features for Space Station 14. On the other hand, I wish they were more centralized or merged and you could fire a server and set a ruleset and add features as you wish. And yes I know that there's major difficulty with that since they're different forks of the same project, but I do think that merging them together could serve to better the game. Imagine just being able to start your own server and set a ruleset for Frontiers, Marines or add features from Starlight like abductor and or Science from Delta. I know that it was this way in Space Station 13, but I think that until all of the effort gets merged it won't get any major attention from outside. It's the same problem that Linux suffers, too many distros and thus it remains in niche use. If I had to draw a parallel with Linux, I just wish that you'd be able to install modules as you wish with some compatibility in between rather than being stuck with certain modules based on what you installed as an OS (or in this case what you chose as a server to play on)
The issue with "merging it all" is that too many features could lead to bloat, and some forks are just too different to merge. RMC or Frontier wouldn't really be helpful to merge into the main. Not to mention bugs, which are much more common on the side-forks.

Now that's some top tier RP.
Thank god an actual tutorial on how to play these! Back in ss13 literally had 0 idea how to play as them...
Getting robusted by genetically modified abomination from outer space and getting your heart ripped off is so silly
No idea why we got uncut unedited 45 seconds of space flight but the actual interesting part where you actually abduct someone goes at 5x speed.
@@MichaelBaltzley just a minor thing I forgot to do
This is the greatest SS14 tutorial of all time. (Abductor Alien is the robustest species.)
OMAAAGAAAD! More mechanic from 13 to 14 starlighters!

Thanks for the comprehensive guide.
Thank you!! I've really need a better understanding at Abductor now that it is promptly on Starlight, o7.
I've been wanting to try starlight for a good time now, thanks for the tutorial!
Now i can finally yell "AYY LMAOO" when i see one

I had no idea they had Abductors. They are my FAVORITE antag!

Nice! Are you planning on recording more tutorials from Starlight?
@@VaniliaML depends...
@@henhenIII I surely hope so!
Just wanna put this lil fun fact, I tried using the wonderprod on the abductor and it didn't seem like it can affect them at all, so keep that in mind

SS14 got abductors before surgery?
It's on starlight, where we have surgery as well!
THEY HAVE ABDUCTORS?
which server is this?
