Going from Guillermo Del Toro to this is crazy. This looks like a fan film.
You missed a step in between
Wait, this isn’t a fan film? Wtf
@@gummyboots it's just the dip in quality from what we started with to this is what's wild.

Right? It's not the same
Instead of Hellboy 3, they made TWO more different movies with different actors. Makes zero sense. Golden Army was fricking amazing
I’m kinda glad it ended there. That way Hellboy keeps his happy ending.
Golden Army came out a week before TDK and was dead on arrival, that's why they didn't do hellboy 3.
@@Ghstrbtthe main reason they never did a sequel is because Mignola hated was Guillermo did with Hellboy. It was nothing like how envisioned the films. There were chances a few years ago as Guillermos name has a but more pull but Mignola shot it down in favour of a reboot instead.
Ron Perlman was in his 50s when Golden Army came out. He is now in his mid 70's. You think they are going to cast him for any Hellboy 3 after Golden Army?
@@AdamJenningsEQ He's a moron. Modern day version of Roald Dahl hating Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

money is their weakness.
Yet y'all complain about sequels and all they care about his money, this is more like the comic
Del Torio and Ron Perlman said they're both done with hellboy
Del troo needed a budget of 200 million for hellboy 3. The first tow combined barely made that much. YOU don't even know what you're talking about.
It’s cause they broke the Panderstone
That VFX budget makes me think this entire movie happens in the woods.
Well, yeah. Thats where the Crooked man is. Also, maybe you'd be happier if the movie ended with a giant blue cgi beam to the sky in the middle of new york instead of a forest?
Real hell is seeing a franchise you love be reduced to Tubi originals.

This was made by one of the crank directors haha
Tubi or not Tubi, that is the question 😀
@@laverdadescatolica5 underrated. LMAO

At this point Hellboy would do much better as an animated series.
There were already two animated films from the studio that made Spectacular Spider-Man (or just the same style)
@@BenHopkins1000film is not the same as series, those films were great renditions but there are so many comic stories that would do well to be adapted into episodes, you know, kind of like the way comics are released
I’d totally see that
Like Castlevania style.
that goes for 90% of hollywood these days
Brought to you by your local drama academy, with a block buster budget big enough to buy not one but two Kit Kat duos.
Man their never going to be able to make that back.
The fact that they made TWO Hellboy movies basically kills the argument that they couldn't afford Hellboy 3 because it was too expensive. If they could afford to make TWO Hellboy movies that NO ONE wanted, then they had the cash to make Guillermo Del Toro's vision a reality.
Imagine if their movie budget was $50
I'd believe it
It may look better
Would be worth watching? Maybe nominated for best movie of the year

Hellboy seems to be somewhat lacking in the personality department this time round.
😂😂😂😂😂
What personality?
His nickname in this instead of Red is Baige
No hate but, Hellboy IS like this in the comics. Ron Pearlman's acting made HB much more quippy and sassy.
Hellboy is serious in The Crooked Man comic book run.
Okay, so honestly, this gives off an indie horror film feel. As a result, it looks fan made. But if the main character was taken out, it seem like an independent horror film. There's a distinction between independent horror films to superhero horror.
From what I've recently learned, this is the only Hellboy created with the original creator having hands on the entire time/co'wrote the screenplay. So its giving off those vibes, hopefully, because thats what the comics do. Thats the vibe of the books. At least from the ones I've read, Hellboy isn't the main character. The "main character" or plot device is the "crooked man" of that book. Which is always more interesting anyhow
Hellboy isn't a superhero. And Hellboy has always been about horror.

If comparing the movie's to the comics the first movie did not get it right from what I've heard. Never read the comics but keep hearing the first movie wasn't very close to the comic, but this one is written by the creator of the comic so it should be the most comic accurate.

You can't make a hellboy movie if the guy playing hellboy looks like your Junior High PE teacher dressed up as hellboy for Halloween.
Ironic. That same guy pumped your wife last night with the same costume on.
In the comics the movie based off of this is a very young hellboy in the 1950s what gets me is his lack of yellow eyes. And my excuse may not be the best considering hellboy doesn't really age.
well you can't beat Ron Perlman,
From the looks of this you can.

You can't tell people what they want.
Even though the original Del Toro movies weren't comic accurate they got more right in those than they did with this one. Man I'm so tired of people who don't know anything about the Hellboy comics insisting that Ron and Guillermo are the height of Hellboy...
The problem is they absolutely nailed Hellboy first time with Ron Pearlman, like he was born to play Hellboy, that no one has been anywhere near close enough since.
They'd be better off using a CG model now.
Looks like someone took the source material seriously. As a fan of the comics this kind of gave me that feel. Would like to see if the finished product lives up to it.
Check out the info on this film, it looks like that because Mike had his hands in everything. This is going to be awesome, a detective hunt for an evil SOB.
The budget is obviously lacking, but I'll give credit where credit is due - this looks like the most comic accurate Hellboy to date. The comics literally classify as dark fantasy/horror before action-adventure. It looks like the filmmakers decided to make a proper horror themed investigation story from the books, which is kind of what most of the stories are in the Hellboy comics. Budget or not, they definitely checked all the right boxes in terms of adaptation. Now, all this movie needs to be is interesting.
The creator of Hellboy wrote the script and was in touch with the director throughout production to give feedback on what was being filmed.
@@croaxleighdidn’t he do that too for the last movie?
@@arielgonzalez9993he hardly had any input on any of the previous films, he cowrote the screenplay for this
I’ll admit I’m nervous for it but that outlook is definitely something to think about cause it’s hard to say you’re wrong.
@arielgonzalez9993 as a previous commenter said the creator wasn't much involved in previous works. Even in the last movie, the director was pushed to the backseat by the studio. They drastically edited and changed the flow of the movie to try to be more in line with more superhero movies. Hollywood needs to learn the fact the source material is from a comic doesn't mean it has to be the the same as all other comicbook movies. This trailer gives me hope it is closer to the comic roots and not some action/adventure movie with bad "comedy" shoved down our throats after every other line.

Stoic and a bit depressed
A bit? He was quite depressed and lonely.
Plus Hellboy wasn't a buffoon he was actually intelligent and consider the world's top paranormal investigator something this film adaption like in the actual Crooked Man storyline from the comics puts a great emphasis on.
Can't judge the movie and story yet. But it sure looks cheap.
Man… the visual style looks so different with the comic, the comic is gothic but with a lot of colour, this movie looks like the director pretends make a Robert Eggers movie with a Really low budget, and obviusly, He isn’t Robert Eggers
The CGI is definitely rough, but im more interested in what the writing brings to the table.
