Had My E36 318i 5speed for over a year now and I love it great daily got a Borla muffler and hot intake LOL sounds great love the induction noise it makes... now if I can find a disa valve on the cheap that the only problem I have so far, rough idle on cold start in the morning.
Not sure why a tougher silicon replacement diaphragm hasn't been produced yet. Don't even dream of using aftermarket valves. They hoot and cause your car to throw misfire codes plus blow oil...great vid and cool ride👍
I got a p1140 code on my e36/7 1997 1.9l z3 m44 roadster. It does idle rough. The manual I have says it’s Mass Air Flow sensor is out of range. When I unplug the MAF it idles much worse. When I erase the CEL, it will show pending “p1140 P” and the CEL will stay off until next start up.
Got a P1511 code which points to DISA. My car idles ok but feels abit sluggish sometimes in 1st gear, also at times it will struggle to start sometimes and run rough for about a minute or so then settle back down. I am thinking of replacing the DISA valve diaphrams hopefully that will sort iy
I have the same engine in my 98 z3 and can't figure out why 2 metal pipes coming from the fire wall to under my dash are on fire and it seems to be running hot but reads normal on the dash
Nathan, where did Sylvester buy his coil pack for his 318i? I now this is an old post but it was very helpful. My check engine light comes on at low idle and goes away when driving. Smells like gas fumes a bit. Any suggestions.

172k on it plan to change all the lines when our company goes on yearend break for sure.
