Wow, you were on point with the Flipper! Excellent as always, Req.
Excellent video, as always: informative and great fun to watch. The numerical data about climb rate and speed are very useful to get a better understanding of the differences between the models, so thanks for giving these details.
Cheers, it's a nice comparison to have between the WWI airplanes as the margins between them performance can be much narrower.
This and the Triplane I think were my favorite allied rides when I played ROF. Actually maybe SE5. Loved the speed on that plane.
Me too. Big fan of the SE5...I flew that thing more than any other airplane in RoF I'd say.
@@RequiemsACTL I got to sit in a scaled down real one when I lived in Ontario. Dr 1 as well. Got some hilarious pics of me going gangster with the top wing mounted gun!
@@JugheadJones03 Awesome, you should share them on the forum. I'll bet plenty of people would love to see them :-)
Brilliant. Brilliant on TWO scores in fact. First one is the unerring nature of the video and second is the fact that I watched the video before I even realized that the bloody plane was even available in game!! For that it's a thanks on BOTH counts Req! Thanks x 2!!
I was able to get this one done while it was in beta access, so...suprise! :-)
@@RequiemsACTL Fantastic! The Fokker is a bit of a strange cookie... not many controls on it. It seems to have started heading towards the full - auto of the later planes, or is it just me?!! I don't seem to be able to control mixture and such...
@@TheRaptorXX no you're right. The mixture is auto for the D.VII. The radiator is manual though. Germans like to keep things simple and let the pilot focus on other things
As always, excellent tutorial!
Damn you´re quick :D. Nice!
I already had this video ready to go...I just had to wait until the patch was public.
@@RequiemsACTL how dare you reveal us your youtuber's secrets!
Awesome as usual :)
Thanks for this Requiem.
1:37 - Since EVERYTHING back then was done in feet and miles/MPH, the pilots' notes should give airspeed and climb rate altitudes in feet as well. Otherwise, it's very confusing and folks will have to do their own sheets with the conversions on them.
For many folks who fly casually, "step away from the bubble" means nothing whatsoever. Please explain the terms you use, for "the rest of the audience." Thanks!
Thanks for pointing those things out O'Donovan, I've been trying to always do that for the WWII airplanes Pilot's Notes. I guess I've just been lazy with the WWI planes copying the data from what I know with RoF! Sorry about that!
As for the bubble thing, I'll make a short video about the differences between the inclinometer and slip/skid to cover that base.
I always enjoy these videos as new Flying Circus planes are released, thanks. Where do you find the information for proper airspeeds/RPM during downwind/base to final?
There are no exact numbers anywhere that I'm aware of for the WWI stuff, but after flying them around for a while these are the numbers I believe work for the airplane based on how it feels when flying it. Just pilot intuition for lack of a better term. The WWII birds I always reference their manuals where available for the takeoff and landing procedures.

Ahh okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to the D7 video!
Anything on the Sopwith Triplane?
Not yet John, I don't know if the Sopwith Triplane will come to Flying Circus or not. In Rise of Flight the Triplane has been done ua-cam.com/video/Xu_MJUlxol4/v-deo.html
+RequiemBoS *I presume Sopwith Aviation intended the Dolphin to replace the Royal Aircraft Establishment S.E.5?* Dolphin vs. D.VII would be fairly even in hardware performance.
that was quick
So high altitude gunboat, not very fast but a lot of potential guns?
It's actually relatively fast. It may even be faster than the S.E.5
@@blockheadgreen_ Upon getting the dlc, goddamn this kite is nice. Even went and made my own personal skin
That thing is a bear to get out of a spin.
Yeah if you spin it you may need to use aileron into the spin and/or rock the stick back and forth to get some momentum to push the nose down
How do you like the dolphin here as compared to ROF?
I think it flies about the same but it looks slightly nicer in the different game engine.
Would you say the IL2 WWI sim is better than ROF?
Content wise...no. The career mode in RoF with all the extra airplanes and content is excellent. However, when Flying Circus is as fully fleshed out as RoF is it will be much better as it carries with it all the improvements in the enhanced sim engine from IL-2.
im still downloading the update :(
