I'd rather have the BioShock security system where the security bots leave when the alarm is deactivated so I won't die if I accidentally set it off myself.
Then add breakaway walls and very big TVs with shodan. Then make holograms that display the many. Also use biochemistry to create the rumbler. After this you should have that one scene from the game where polito is revealed to be dead and a more than willing assistant to help "subdue" the intruder 😂

I would instantly be more panicked and confused and utterly fucking terrified than I have ever been before in my entire god damn life.

A suggestion for the fingerprint-issue: Just randomize the keypad layout each time it is brought up. This will prevent seeing a clear pattern via fingerprints : ) Nonetheless a great idea! Love the red lights flashing : )
There's a lot of things you can do with a security system that make them more secure, but at the expense of user friendliness. Randomizing the number positions certainly falls under that category. You could also have a 50 digit code, striking the balance depends on the use case of course :P

In system shock 2, 45100 is always the code to the first keypad that ALSO exits the medical bay. the 451 code is also used in a ton of other games, notably Bioshock and Deus ex, in reference to system shock.
