In the team battle(Team Rose), using Sonic's Blue Tornado can finish things quickly
The Golden Keys Special Stage, on every 1st stage, is a race to the goal, on every 2nd stage, Chaos Emerald Chase,
The quicker you get, the more 1-ups you get.
If you ever play this again I have some advice they don’t tell you in the game. I played this game on the Ps2 so I’m just gonna use that for reference.
When team Sonic use their ultimate Sonic for a short time can use a special move when around enemies by jumping and then pressing square/The action button.
The Chaotix get extra rings for every enemy they kill with their ultimates so you can potentially gather hundreds of rings with them I’ve done it before.
Amy can fly for a short time if you hold the jump button and can go even father if you use her tornado after wards.
The special stages every time you boost the emeralds boost too so you’re supposed to hold the boost button instead of rapidly hitting the button that way you build up speed.
Finally each character has 3 levels of power. They’re at their strongest especially Knuckles at their level 3’s and sonic can homing attack on poles once he’s at level 3. Also if you want to get off walls as Sonic you can press the square/action button making Sonic flip off the walls

Chaos Control- Blaster
Team Rose Ultimate,
Explosive Blossom- Flower pedals spread throughout the screen, with a bonus you get a bubble shield and invincibility star together.
Note- Executing the Team Blast as Amy/Cream, they will sing, right before the explosion.

Sonic Heroes was my jam when I was a kid. People hate on it nowadays because of the repetition and controls, but I managed and can still go back to it.
That’s what made it so fun! People be tripping hard from all the AAA games they inject into their brains.

The controls were a legit issue. But I didn't mind having to play the game 4 times. It's not really designed to be a marathon type game in the first place. Beat a story, come back one day, beat another story, etc.
The Slippery Controls made open level design kinda okay, it was just weird with the platforming and turning. When you get used to it, speedrunning is hella fun though
People have skill issue, it's really not that bad and can be replayable and beaten, if a 8 year old me can do it so can others
If it was on Switch, I'm pretty sure the repetition would be seen as a compliment
quick pro tip: regarding the keys, if you hold on to them until the end of the stage you'll get taken to a bonus stage. finishing act 1 with the keys will take you to the regular bonus stage, while finishing act 2 with them will take you to the special stage (getting hit while holding a key will cause you to drop it, so be careful)
also VERY IMPORTANT: you only need to collect the emeralds with one team to unlock the final story,so dont stress if you miss them, and its easiest to get the emeralds with team rose

If you continue to play this, know that the Team Blast has an additional effect in addition to being a screen nuke.
Team Sonic: Temporarily lets you use Sonic’s “Light Speed Attack”. Which is basically another screen nuke like team blast but with shorter activation range. Pretty much any mid-air attack involving Sonic that isn’t a standard homing attack triggers it.
Team Dark: Temporarily stops time. Not only do enemies freeze, but the clock stops counting and some proximity based level events and objects won’t trigger.
Team Rose: Grants one of every power up. Leveling up all three team members, boosting speed, making you invincible, and even granting a shield for after the invincibility ends.
Team Chaotix: Arguably the best one. You will temporarily be awarded a set of 5, 10, or even 20 rings at random for every enemy you kill (including with the team blast itself). With enough enemies in quick succession and a little luck, you can effectively string team blasts together one after the other.
I replayed this game a thousand times and I can say that it's peak Sonic, the ost slaps and the true final boss is so badass.
this is my favorite sonic game of all time tbh, but the final boss was only great on spectacle tbh, he looked cool, and the arena and music was amazing but it was just spam abilities and gather rings until a team blast

Quick tip for Team battles... they're PISS EASY just use the Speed Type tornado.
It's better to just use the Tornado attack on team battles instead of homing attacks. I heard of a glitch that you can use to fill the Team Blast gauge faster, too.

The first sonic game I was hyped for growing up thanks to those teasers for it from the extras of Sonic Mega Collection Plus; it's good to know people remember seeing those dope extras as their first look 🤩
I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid. My mom who is not usually into video games used to watch me playing, she liked the game a lot. She's gone now but that reminded me good times, that game was fire, I also unlocked super hard mode. Thank you so much bro, I will try to find a legit copy of this game.

I'd love to see you get through the whole game like this. One thing to note for bosses and tougher enemies, Knuckles does 3X the damage of Sonic by default, depending on level ups. And stages will only get longer, which is something I loved.

Man I love this game when it came out. I think it was 2003 2004 when it came out and it was the good years of Sonic. Came out on GC, PS2, the og Xbox and pc. To bad it never came back out with a remake or a re-release
sonic heroes is personally one of my favorite sonic games because of the storyline and the characters and how you can switch between 3 at a time and its great to see that some people still play this game today

Loki if I can give you some advice this game takes patience in the later stages and the timer thing isn't something you really have to worry about ,just take your time in the levels you'll like the game better

To get to the last story, you have to not only play with all four teams, you have to also get all the chaos emeralds in the special stage.

Heroes was simple, but it was fun, for the most part. The early stages flowed so damn well. And the endgame stages were... a bit irritating, but still enjoyable. Mystic mansion probably being the lowest point among a bunch of high notes. Especially Team Chaotix's version.
I'm down to see a part 2 of this, dude. But feel free to enjoy it even off-camera. The multiplayer may not be quite up to SA2:B standards, but it's still one hell of a ride.

It was about that point, I too decided the game was bad, and for the longest time could not progress past that reactor, meaning I could only finish with Rose and Chaotix, and never knew the last story existed for about 10 years. Looking back, it's nice to see an actual 3D sonic game again, but I cannot enjoy the playstyle past the opening levels.

Ryan Drummond was the actor for sonic in this game and probably my favorite ones along with roger he has voiced sonic since adventure one and two sonic shuffle the advance trilogy battle and this game unfortunately I’m guessing due to legal reasons he was replaced by Jason and after Jason roger

I like how he said that “game cubes must be freezing up rendering this” when in actuality the GameCube was the superior version and the PlayStation and Xbox where completely ass ports lol ❤
This game is awesome. I played it when I was a kid in the PS2, the worst version apparently. It's really good, a lot of charm and good... most parts. The Jungle and Haunted House stages are not good and the rails are... questionable (don't know if they're better in PC) BUT they're good. Also... hate to tell you this: But Team Sonic is the weakest team with their Team Blast Attack. That honor goes to either Team Rose or Team...Chaotix. I'm not joking! YOU could say Team Dark but like... those other two teams are busted.
Hope you play more of Heroes. Advise, only go after the Chaos Emeralds as Team Rose. TRUST ME.

Sonic Heroes is one of the best Sonic games. If you want to play a Sonic game where you get to play as all the Sonic characters this is the only game where you can do that besides 06 kinda because you mainly just play as Sonic, Shadow and Silver in that. If you wanna get to play as Omega, Espio, Amy, Vector characters like that this is your game. Also all the ultimates are goated and come with their own powers
Sonic Heroes played best on GameCube & had that water effect on original hardware. Also don't disrespect Cream, she's been almost entirely absent from the games since Generations & she was awesome in Advance 2.
play the pc port instead with a bunch of mods. you can fix the slippery controls and enhance the textures.

There is no Sonic Heroes PC port
He's literally playing the PC version. You can see that with the Y and B button prompts and the modded 3D models.
Heroes was so high quality, the PS2 couldn't even run it. The Gamecube ran this game at a smooth 60fps. While the bosses are ass and the game has a few glitches, learning how to master this game and its mechanics is so satisfying. It gets so good that playing it rivals Unleashed in terms of fun. That said, you're about to come up on the worst zone in the game. After that, you're gonna have hard time learning the rail mechanics, im just saying that now.
