  • Let's dive into a subscriber's scene that is having some problems. He said he was not able to control the mix levels of his house sound with the input faders. Let's see what we find when we jump into X32-Edit and begin exploring.

      @@AllamHouse sure will.
      Scenes have been an issue for me in that I have for instance added the p2 for drumming as I am a drummer as well but wanted to be able to mix my own sound when playing so I unmuted all the instruments and vocals going to my drum mix, that caused all the other vocals and musicians to hear the sound as well. So I ended up reverting to another saved scene. I would like to correct that issue first then save that change to my other scenes.

      One of two things is happening. I’m going to assume you are using a MixBUS to send a mix to your P2 (across XLR) for monitoring. You want to make sure the MixBUS is not set to go to the Main LR Bus by selecting the MixBUS and making sure the Stereo LR Bus button (to the left of the screen) is grey… not orange. If this is done and your problem still persists you need to make sure your MixBUS is not being sent to the other monitors, but in fact you are using your own MixBUS for your own monitor. This would be a routing thing to check by going to Routing > OUT and making sure your MixBUS is routed to the desired output and the other musicians have a different MixBUS sent to a different output. The last thing to check is that your device (phone or iPad) you are using to control your mix is ONLY controlling your mix and not the house or other mixes.

      @@AllamHouse Will check these things tomorrow and see. I know I had changed the routing on the out tab to manage the p2 and after, I unmuted the other channels on the mix bus. Currently, I am not sending their mix-to-mix buses. Just to p16s.
      They basically hear what they mix in their ears using the p16s. I was attempting to replicate that with the addition of the p2.
      That said, I'll check the areas you've mentioned and see if any of the suggestions make a change.
      Again, thank you for the time and assistance here.

      @@AllamHouse all set here now. Thanks again. Everything on the mix bus was unmuted. Bleeding into the other in aid of the team. And causing me to not control drums at the mix bus. Muting them all except the drums resolved this issue. Thought I needed to unmute them initially to control but since they aren’t being sent on a mix bus. I didn’t need to seemingly.

    Good video on initial troubleshooting of the X-32. I'm going to double check and make sure I'm not doubling anything for no reason either... Maybe a good thing if you edit this video, or do afollow up after you got in touch and they explain if there was reasoning behind any of this and, what fixed their problem.

      Yeah, I hope to hear back from them and if/when I do I will pin a comment with the solution. My guess is just the mass amounts of buses also being routed to their mains will be the issue.

    Wow. That scene is all kinds of messed up. It looks like a person who doesn’t know what to do and likely wouldn’t be able to use your advice to repair that scene. It would be to that congregation’s advantage if you just gave them a quote to visit the church to redo that scene from scratch. There is so much wrong that it needs a pro to fix it. And good on them for reaching out for help. They really need some.

      I agree that they did the right thing by reaching out for help. I do agree that an on-site visit would be the best, but I think a virtual visit to understand their needs and make adjustments to their scene could be a good compromise. Thanks for the comment.

    Is it possible to see when a scene was loaded? Is there some kind of log of the uploads of different scenes, snippets etc.?

    • @AllamHouse
      @AllamHouse  8 місяців тому +1

      There isn't a thing in the console that tells you when the scene was created or loaded. You can download the scene file and open it in a basic text editor on a computer, but it still isn’t a log file in the sense of what you are looking for exactly.

      I just went back and looked at my initial reply and realized I had a typo. I have updated it now, but the initial statement should have said "There is not a place in the console that tells you when a scene was created or loaded."

    Hi Allam.
    I’m still not clear about Fx rack. So we have fader send, bus then return. Which one is better for control reverb on vocal?
    1. Fader send, bus is unity then adjust return
    2 Return, bus is unity then adjust fader send
    3. Fader, return is unity then adjust the Bus.
    Please help to clear.
    Thank you so much

    • @AllamHouse
      @AllamHouse  Рік тому +1

      There is no right or wrong way to approach this. I personally try to keep my faders as much near unity as possible. For this, I would set the BUS fader at Unity and the return fader at unity and then only send the needed amount into the BUS using the Sends on Fader feature. If I am sending a decent signal and it is still too much of an effect, I would look in the effect to see if there is a volume control and then adjust that as needed.

    I appears that they may need to reinitialize the console and start over to eliminate all the double bussing..

    • @AllamHouse
      @AllamHouse  Рік тому

      Reinitialize might be a little too far, but they do need to make a dedicated effort to fix their signal path in a lot of places. Thanks for the comment.
