WHY I AM THE WAY I AM FOR THOSE WHO KEEP ASKING: I left Zim when I was like 3 and grew up in Sandton. I went to a very prestigious primary school and my English wasn't so great in preschool so mom and I prioritized bettering my English (should've prioritized both but I focused on the one). I was also on a bursary so mom and I were pressured to produce stellar results. Mom would try to get me to learn Shona but I was stubborn as a child. Asi now that ndatikurei mbichana (19 years), actually, for the past few years, I've been trying to relearn, regain and reclaim my culture and roots🥰
My 6 yr old daughter is worried about communication with her grandmother she’s doesn’t speak any single shona word but understands us when talking to her in shona.
@@mzee5533 awww shame, I understand how she feels😢 At least she does understand when being spoken too, so you're not completely starting from scratch💁🏾♀️ I hope communication won't be 🥲 of a problem especially if her grandmother knows a bit of English and then maybe you could already start encouraging your daughter to speak a little bit Shona, prepping her for the trip🤷🏽♀️ Good luck and later on in the year, feel free to let me know how it went 😊

U deserve much better, ur edditing is spot on, u did well that one can stay glued on the video with the cuts joined together nicely, this video is far much better than any other village videos i have seen, only thing u need as time goes by is a camera that helps in making your videos shake less.I am sure u know what i mean as a youtuber. U are destined to greater heights i can tell. I am impressed. Well done👌

You brought me joy today and I am thankful. like @walk_africa said, may a good camera or a stabilizer find you to keep creating content. Keep sharing your story and may you be inspired by your mum to dream big. All the best.

Thanks for giving us a glimpse on Zimbabwe. It is country alive. As most Zimbabweans don't talk much about their country we end up believe the propagandered media
It's nice to watch videos of rural areas in other african countries because one can see that there are a lot of similarities and differences. It helps one to learn about how people live in other countries. I loved watching your video. In other parts of South Africa, things are done differently, i would advise that when comparing, you say "Where I live in South Africa" to protect yourself from cyber bullying and accusations of generalizing.
Yess, we can see that we Africans are connected in some way, shape or form and I love it❤ Oops, I didn't realize that I did that😅 Thank you so much for that and I will do my best to remember next time. Thanks for the support Naledi, you are appreciated 🙏🏾 🌻

The Zimbabwean situation may not be easy BUT the rural areas being abandoned are an absolute gem. Passed by some abandoned homesteads in Nyazura full of mango tree orchards. The houses needed tender loving care. We surely can do better as Zimbabweans, by building beautiful homes in these inherited places. Was coming from just a place like this near Mukamba clinic. Solar electricity system, flushing toilets in 7 en-suite bedroom house with Wi-Fi internet services, DSTV and gas stove. It has a blue roof , porcelain tiles and 2 lounges. No mortgages and very low (fields) rates, Usd2 for the year. C'mon Zimbos, renovate, upgrade and maintain those rural homes. 🇿🇼😊
