Thank you for your informative video. I am most curious tho, of why you removed the paper from the block, only to then tape it down? Why defeat the purpose of the block? Thanks! 🙂
I usually paint directly on the block when I don’t want to have white edges/fame around my painting. For this experiment, I just want to use small paper. I didn’t think too much until you pointed out:-) Thank you so much for being here!!!
Thanks so much for this test! I had heard of synthetic ox gall, but had never seen a comparison. It really helped to answer the questions I had about the product. I think I'll give it a shot now. Also, that's a nice morning vibe with the birds and coffee!
I’m so glad to hear that this video helped; that’s my original intention:-) Thank you so much for being here! I like to take my time to wake up and get my mindset ready for the day by having a cup of coffee and being grateful for what I have, including my cat and birds nearby!!!
I found your demonstration & thoughts on synthetic ox gall this very informative. I've heard of it before, but never saw a demo showing how to use it with a clear comparison examples. I'm putting it on my wish list. And Boba is so cute... Boba's chirping at the birds reminded me of how my kitty used to chirp at critters. Usually birds, squirrels and flies lol. Thanks for sharing!
@@yincreativestudio My cat, Tobbie, who chirped is in kitty heaven (or wherever we go). He lived to be almost 22 years and he had a good life. My current kitty, Aku is about 19, lazy, spoiled and doesn't chirp😹. I've had other cats in the past that chirped, but Tobbie did it the most. I love that you share Boba in your video's because it brings back happy memories of when my past cats were here with me and used to spend time with me while I painted (Aku isn't an art buddy cat 😸).
@@sandyb4693 Tobbie was such a cutie pie! I’m sorry for your loss, but I’m sure that Tobbie had his best life with you! I really appreciate that you shared your stories with me! You will definitely see Boba in my videos!
Hello, Yin. I'm so glad you shared this comparison with us. I heard of Ox Gall and was curious to try it. I think it will be helpful during the long upper midwest winter when the air is low in humidity and our furnace is running constantly. It's always such a challenge to keep the paper surface wet long enough. I truly enjoy your channel and find your painting style so unique and beautiful.
Hi Shelly, I’m so glad that my video is helpful! It must be hard to keep your paper moisturized during winter time there. Thank you so much for being here!!!
Greetings! Thank you for this video. I live in Florida and there is no way that any painting I do takes 20 minutes to dry. 10 is more likely. I may pop over to our Blick Art Supply in Tampa and get some Ox Gall for myself to see if it makes a difference here in our very hot climate! ❤
I brushed water on my paper two or three layers so it took 20 minutes to dry. I’m sure if it would also help you keep paper wet longer. Thank you so much for being here! I hope that ox gall can be helpful!
Arches is French & it’s pronounced “Arche,” the (s) is silent. I’ve tried gum Arabic to help slow down the drying process, but I ought to give ox gall a try. Great info, Thanks for sharing!!!

Ox gall is obtained from cows. A more 'friendly' alternative is photoflow, a wetting agent made by kodak.
Thank you for letting me know!
Thank you for sharing. I can’t wait until the next one!!!
Thank you so much for your support!

Lovely ❤. Can you tell me the model name and make of the coffee maker? I would love to get one too. 😊
