Thank you for take the time and effort to make this video. You helped me diagnose a bad ECM motor. My model was slightly different but... contactor pulls in, 240VAC to the motor. Motor starts to spin, getting pulsed with 16.2V between PWM1-PWM2 in high speed mode, then after about a minute or two the fan lags, then stops spinning, 240VAC still at the top of the contactor, the DC control voltage starts pulsing more rapidly trying to get the fan back up to speed and then eventually the contactor drops and a CODE 84 - High pressure lockout code fault appears on the thermostat. Now the challenge of finding a part source as it appears the model number of the motor I have is obsolete. BTW, for everyone's info, my ECM motor has failed at 8 years after install, Atlanta GA, so it gets run pretty hard June-October.
thank you , great vedio.
Great video.
High pressure lock out fault and found compressor would come on but condenser fan would not. You are awesome!!!! Had a HVAC contractor come out and said the control board was the failure. They said it would be around $2000 to repair and recommend replacing the whole system due to age. Needless to say I did not trust them. I followed your troubleshooting video and found the condenser fan motor failed. Yes the motor is expensive but I purchased myself and replaced. Works like a champ and took about an hour to replace. I would like to send you a tip. Do you have paypal?
Lo que que no aprendi en la escuela, Marco me lo soluciona.
great video.
FERNANDO CISNEROS gracias! Las escuelas nunca tiene información de eso clase de motores
Awesome. I was getting 8.89 dc volts.
I appreciate all that you do bro👍keep doing what you are doing.I have learned alot from watching your video's 🙂
Well explained, thank you. Was working on one today and compressor was running but fan wasn't. So I checked voltage right away at the board to ecm motor. Wasn't getting reading then watched your video and realized i was in ac not dc. Still no power output, so I ordered a board for it. Its not a heat pump but it says defrost board, is that just a generic board for these? I don't work on them much
Had some one install a new fan motor what appears to be possible generic fan motor. Or maybe bad wiring/set up? Now my infinity system won't cool as fast, takes an hour and half to go down 3 degrees. Any ideas what it could be?
Once condenser (compression motor) is replaced, can this code 74 cause or led to a second code of 179?
Very well explained about the measuring the voltage. How do you put the system into test mode? Thank you!
Well done and good explanation
Great viedo, i hate those ecm motors.
Excellent. Thanks.
Great vid Marco.
Thank you !!
Good video, man. What was the third part on the chart that said "low and high stage"? Not too familiar with that unit.
My unit is on high pressure lockout and I manually pressed in the contactor and the compressor comes on. should the ecm motor come on also with the compressor when i do this or do i need to fix lockout before fan will come on?
Did you figure the problem regarding to your question just curious ? Thx
Good info!! Thx
I'm confused because the ecm condenser fan motors have a common and I thought it was alternating current not dirrect current into.module someone please explain "tyvm"😎
Nice job
Can this cause a code 47?
Good video Marco :)
Nice!
Good vid Marco. Where are u from. Like the vids.
Thanks Eddie! I appreciate it. I live in the metro Atlanta area.
nice repair
