Enjoying your short walks now I've found them. This is my favourite as I come from Rodmell (pronounced ROdmell, not RodmEll) and the Ouse was canalised with concrete to stop it spreading over the meadows, which in VW's time were called the water meadows and caused floods - not canonised!
Hi Rachel, thanks for the pronunciation correction - so easy to get wrong I guess. There's a place in Herefordshire called Leominister - you can guess how many times people get that wrong (Lemster is how the locals pronounce it). Yes canalised - that's the word I was searching for. I know it runs up the Balcombe passing under the viaduct there. I made a short video about it, although there is little left of the canal now. ua-cam.com/video/aaF5BvOQwow/v-deo.html Thanks for watching the videos - if you have any walk suggestions - do let me know.
Perfect. 100 percent right on the money. Refreshing and educationaI. I think my favorites of this recent batch are this one and the one inside your dad's house.
Barbell mostly.Pike in the winter.Have you been to Barcombe and Barcombe Mills? There used to be a nice little pub down there on the river owned by a bloke who used to race Jags?.But that was back in the 1990's. The Anchor Inn if my memory serves me well. One could rent a boat or canoe/kayak.
You show my great-grandparents cottage and my grandmother's cottage in this video :)
Rachel West Do I? Beautiful cottages in Rodmell.
Very interesting places you take us. Love the new format.
Thank you Ian. :)
