Nice video! I‘ve seen several of yours. I bought a RSS02T when they came out. A year later, I bought an RSE20 just like yours. I loved it so much I sold the RSS02T to pay off the RSE20. I‘m happy every time I play it.
I wish Yamaha would offer the RSS02T for us lefties! I have an RSE20L and was so impressed with it that I bought an RSS20L as well. They are both phenomenal guitars.
@@Sehughes1985they had their opportunity when they launched this model. They are capable of doing in lefties for humbuckers, so their Cnc machinery can also do for P90. It's just ridiculous from a marketing decision only. Even with colours. So why do t lefties get the sunburst version as well? The colours are already there.. They assume lefties just want plain black or sunburst colour.. can't preach this enough..
I'm getting an excellent condition RSE in the blue for $375. Im going with your recommendation. I always loved Revstars and am a Yamaha fan..Yammie Acoustics I have 2 great players 10 years with no issues. Sold a Strat and down dollaring to this same RSE you reviewed .Thanks good information. 1 question..not a bolted neck?? Truss issues possible? Your opinion.
Good review, thanks dude! I bought the standard model almost 2 years ago, and although it’s a very beautiful and sweet playing guitar, it’s rather heavy at 8 1/2 pounds. I got the P90 model and I really like it, but a month ago I decided to buy the element Model, same exact finish as yours. I think I like the element even better than the standard. It’s 18 ounces lighter and just as nice all around. I don’t miss the so-called “focus switch” on the standard model, nor do I really like pick up positions two and four on the standard. So the element is quickly clocking in more playtime than my more expensive standard model.
I've thought about getting a standard. I have heard in a side by side you really can't tell them apart so the money is wasted. I know I am really happy with my element.
I have a yamaha ls-ta that's prob 6yrs old and it really sounds amazing. They are definately innovators in the space. I've had my eye on this one (prob the standard w p90s) since they came out. The sound is exceptional from what I can tell - the thickness reminds me of a 335. Edit: on my yamaha acoustic the neck is listed as a 'c' shape, but in person it feels more like a c-to-very soft 'v'. It's hard to explain, but it's awesome feel. It might even be an asymmetric profile as this seems to be more pronounced near the nut vs more flat-c near the join. Do you notice if the revstar has this profile?
I will have to check. So far I feel standard c. I really am wanting a standard now too. Stainless frets and the carbon fiber as well as the five way switch.
I had a Yamaha trumpet for a week and sent it back. Total crap. I also bought a Yamaha Tenor sax sent it back after 2 days. More crap. The guitar seems fine but i could play the other 2 i am just learning guitar.

Thank you! I have been considering getting a Standard.
Hey I just grabbed one today! Our local music store is going under and I got it on liquidation sale very sad but I have a little piece of history…

Great review…first time i’ve seen your channel. Love the clear, concise approach. You hit all the important aspects and without any BS. Thank you.
Thank you!
Nice, clean, well lit, detailed camera work, and usful insights into this excellent guitar. Thank you.
Thank you too!
Finally I found a video that explains the price and other details of the 3 model of Yahama Revstars
Thank you

That is a great price. It is a set neck, not bolted. No truss rod issues. I just purchased a used Standard for a good price.
@guitarcollectorguy thanks, my brother of the axes..lol

The standard has SS frets. The fretwork on the element model was done as well as the standard even without the Stainless frets?
Yes the fretwork was done just not SS frets.
BEST review! Nice!!!
Why? Cos it's bout the guitar, not you. Subed!
Thank you

@@guitarcollectorguy thanks. I feel the standard p90 variant could compliment the thick sound profile of the instrument.
I’ve been watching them too recently also
I just returned a RSE20. It had 8 defects. My other Yamaha is literally perfect. Go figure.
Sorry about that. I don't think that's the norm though.

I like my rse 20. Apart from the crappy quality pick up switch
