I think this is one of Angelena’s best renditions which she delivered to total perfection. It is not an easy song to sing but for Angelena it is effortless. This rendition really showcases her beautiful vocals and the different techniques that she has. Totally awesome and I loved your reaction
So pleased you liked this one I absolutely love it to I’m 68 and I love all kind of music but I do love this and I absolutely love her own original music it’s brilliant I do agree the more you listen to a song it grows on you My granddaughters have actually done that to me and have said how do you know this song or Artist and I just say I’ve got ears just like you Elvis is my passion and now there listening to Elvis as well result 😂🕺🏻Love from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴👼👸🏻💕👍🥰👋
I've gotta say that your spot on! I grew up with 8 brothers and sisters! We all had our own and same likes to music! It took years to realize the value of it!
Hello sir! I was born in 1960 and was surrounded by not only my parents choice in music (country for the most part) but I had 8 other siblings that had their own taste in music ! It wasn't until years later that I appreciate the wide variety of music I was exposed to! Nice reaction sir and have a good day! GO ANGELINA JORDAN!!!!
As you can see, Ellis, a lot of us old folks listen to a whole range of music. But your insights are bang on. Angelina brings back an old kind of music, but she also takes us through a whole lot of new music, and not just by her. I am 61, and I've listened to people from Ariana Grande to Halsey to Alec Benjamin to Twenty-One Pilots to.... the list goes on and on. And I love what you do, the things you say, and the way you say them. Like your cat too! 😊. Keep doing what youre doing, and the way you do it, man. I'll always stop by to see what you say...
I'm 63, I listen to all of Angelina's songs and I listen to her daily! This is one of my favorite Lana del Ray songs! I only usually listen to music from the late 90's until present day.
How did you grow up to be this wise, Ellis? First rambling in this direction I have heard, and it was very much due. You are growing on me, and I am sure, on all of us. Stay just the way you are, keep being the odd one. Love it 💕
One thing I've noticed is that Angelina had a very good year 10. Several of the songs from that time period are the ones that are requested time after time, like: "Feeling Good', 'I'm Still Holding Out For You', 'I Put A Spell On You' to name a couple. Angelina seemed comfortable with her voice at that time. After that year she heard new things from vocalists she had heard and started playing with those vocal characteristics. Angelina is constantly pushing and learning and we get to hear the fruits. As always Ellis a different perspective. That is what makes you a fan favorite, tangential reasoning. Keep bouncing things off the walls and we will gladly gather round to see what you have shook loose from the vagaries of musical theory. Until the next time.
I had never heard this song before hearing Angelina sing it. So immediately I went to check the original, so like many other people I prefer Angelina's version. She has introduced me to a handful of songs that way and I have always prefered Angelina's version. And IMHO Angelina's covers are mostly better than the originals. Thumbs up Ellis, thanks for your insight.
69 here and this is one of my favorite. Great reactions. I want to see your mind blown, have you done “I’m Still Holding Out For You” ? I will go look. It will be fun to watch you watching her.
I'm 63 and have always preferred modern music, but I also listen to older things. ever since i discovered angelina at AGT i have to give myself a dose of angelina every day that is my dope without which i can no longer give a concert in germany i stand in the first place when selling tickets no matter how far i have to drive or walk
Lana Del Ray is an awesome singer/songwriter and Angelina did her song justice, of course doesn't she always? I'm 66 BTW and an old rocker. FYI. Angelina is in my top 5 female vocalists.
Justice? Angelina did it better. I’m 68, and Angelina is my favorite current singer, who may be considered on the short list of best female vocalists ever before she’s done. They say that female voices mature somewhere in their 20s. Considering that Angelina is only 15, great things is in-store in her future.
Your right about the music, I'm 78 and I've listened to more modern music and I enjoy a lot of it. Of course Angelina sings a lot of it and some other singers do too.
So true, Ellis! My first music love was Ella and Louis, folk songs with guitar and violin, which were my mum’s faves; then Russian big church choirs and operatic duets that my father loved, and my tastes went from there. Then I went through the music my 3 kids liked, a static period, and now it is my grandchildren’s turn to ‘pull my ears up’. If you listen to Angelina’s 7th Heaven (own song 14), you’ll hear her modern take on jazz. Her acoustic version at 12 of What is Life (own song), so she seems to be working on appealing to all age groups. Of course, she does have the advantage of having the most beautiful voice 🥰 Anyway, your ramblings are stellar 👍🏻🌟
I'm 56 and I have never followed an artist as I have followed Angelina. I was mesmerized by her the first time I heard and saw her on Norwegian Television back in January 2014. She was this tiny little 7 year old with an incredible voice and just dragging you in. I have been there since. Btw we are not THAT old....hehehe Love everything. Love the sound in the voice. Don't forget Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney is now nearly 80 and still playing rock.
Hey! Your best reaction/monologue to date - by far! Yes the biggest challenge to any artist, especially Angelina Jordan, is to establish an audience, and while keeping the oldies, gather a wider audience. It's like being a tightrope walker... Angelina is a special case, when she was 8 years old 90% of her fan base were 60+. Clearly she enjoyed the songs that she sang, she chose them herself. By the time she was 10/11 years old she started to branch out more - though nothing shocking to the older generation. When she moved to LA in 2018 she slowly migrated to more contemporary music. Now at 15 years old she has been more influenced by the modern social media, particularly tictok - I guess she thought that only the younger generation would see that, but the older generation appear to be drifting away. My hope for the future is the live concerts that she excelled at in the past, somehow appealing to the wider audience. Yes the real challenge is to be able to sing (and write) songs that she enjoys to perform - I live in hope.. (her recent original song 7th Heaven is a must listen to ua-cam.com/video/bM8DzMRbiIc/v-deo.html )
I am 76 , and my adolescence and young adulthood was in the 60s and 70s. I still love the music I listened to and will spend days/weeks months rocking gently in my cradle of memories. Luckily , I have a grandson…one of eight..who will come pull me out of my of my comfortable space and and remind me that music didn’t end with Lynyrd Skynyrd and show me something that he has been listening to. We listen and talk about it and I find something out of my experience. My mind and spirit have a new light on the world.
All I needed to see was that first smile. . . and yet, I stayed till the end. These have been fun, and different. That's a pretty good mix. She slays me on this one. Not her absolute best, but still utterly superb. ✌️😎
I found this reaction WISE. totally true. I just like music because music is to be felt (I think) no matter the type, year or artist. So far the overall Angelina is the one that hit me the most.yes you were right 52 right here.....
Angelina is simply amazing, best singer of her generation without a doubt. Please react to other songs of her (150+), my favourites are Summertime, The Show Must go on, All of You, and many others. Highly addictive !! Also original songs from her "Shield, Oslo, Milliuon Miles, 7th Heaven". But also compliments to Lana del Rey, one of our times best songwriters !!
Wow Ellis, another enlightening analysis with a beautiful hard-hitting rant. 🤣 I was fortunate (due to circumstances beyond my control) to have broken out of that “the music of my youth perfect” shell in my mid twenties. I embraced the eclecticism of many musical genres early on and I’ve never looked back. I absolutely love Angelina’s music and style, but I will never abandon my playlist that contains Voodoo Ajai music from Haiti, female rap music from Argentina, Irish ballads and drinking music, Western country swing from the 30’s and 40’s, “Pirate rock with medieval instrumentation from Central Europe, Reggae from Jamaica... and SO much more. I even have an actual musical talent as a guest percussionist with the Philadelphia philharmonic orchestra playing classical music! 😳 No seriously... their summer home is at the Saratoga Performing Art Center in Saratoga Springs NY, and I have performed the “1812 Overture” as one of their Artillerists (we provide three of the seven cannons required for the performance). My point is and I think yours as well, is that variety is the spice of life. Open up your heart to all types of music. I love your common sense advice to Angelina too, on how to expand her audience. Keep doing what you’re doing! 👍👍👍
I love all kinds of music . I am 65 and this is one of my favorite Angelina songs. But you are right. I guess it’s because I am still a old biker chick.
"Why fit in... When you were born to stand out." - Anna Wintour, Editor In-Chief of Vogue Fashion Magazine "Thank U Ellis for your Kind Thoughts here!!! Fun to see U here with this special Song... Fantastic Hosting & all the Work U put in Sharing Miss Jordan with the rest of the World... Super Great here!!! "Say Safe & Sound" DD.
I’m 68 and I love it, but I don’t know maybe I am an exception, I love everything this kid does! You’re not rambling I get it and understand and agree with everything you’re saying.. variety is the spice of life! You’re a well rounded artist, there are a lot of flavors in the musical world And I love tasting them all, except for rap and blue grass never could develop a taste for that stuff. And if Angelina had a concert in my area I would pay to go see it, as long as it had seats!😂 Love to see Angelina do some rockabilly, wouldn’t that be a hoot! 🤣 I’d bet good money she could do it!
love your insightful reaction to our queen to be ,im fae SW Scotland so i would love you to do a song for A ,its on a poem fae rabbie burns,im 50 and love music of most types fae the 20s to now
well i have heard females and males over the many years i have lived on this earth and to be honest i cant ever remember anyone who has made tears flow from me , until i heard this young girl sing and sometimes i cant stop them :)
Love transcends space and time. I'm a Texas Country/Southern Rock, blues and blues rock listener. Angie to me is beyond any genre or time. It's her tone, her empathic ability to take a lyric I've heard a millions times and project an emotion I've never felt before. The way she interprets the lyrics emotionally, tweaks the vows and plays with the timing is pure genius. She has been doing it since the day she was born. She is only 15.
I Love this one too although I am mesmerized by her jazz soul blues- like her own 7th heaven! For me it is most important just to listen to her vocal. Never had a “must listen to” before her. Something about the tone……
Ellis I actually stayed around to listen to your rambling which I must agree with. Since I retired from earning a steady paycheck nearly 3 years ago, I have taken the time to listen to all kinds of music, mostly current music. I can now have a conversation with my grandkids about music.
I don’t know quite how to explain it, but her voice is enjoyable to hear. I think she could do her thing. And redo all 135 covers we’ve all been listening to but good studio versions and current live band productions. I think walking in withna playlist that will be filling a lot of halls. Good chat, great points
I am 75 and I love ❤️ Angelina Jordan the old with the new she is wonderful I’m all in for her Was a Lana Del Rey song I listen to all kinds of music music as a treat discover new types of music new people new singers I like Zazz
I'm well on the plus side of 45 and I find this sound very appealing. Or maybe it's just Angelina. Even so, my real preference is for the classic standards and jazz/blues - in other words, stuff that was big even before I was born. And Angelina does a lot of that, which is another reason why I follow her (but not in a creepy way!)
Reaction to Ellis. E, god you are so spot on Why do I keep coming back to you for YOUR reactions to the Angel. Because you are so honest But good And your details and knowledge and perception and reactions Just right on! I have seen maybe 3dozen reactors to Angelina, all types None come close to you, your knowledge Your wisdom. Oh, by the way- love your smile when the song starts and she or something she did wows you So honest and sincere And your rants…. Rantastic Cheers from 64 yr old Ps Still have all my albums from say 1968 on ….. Listen to them and now Electronic dance music DJ mix stuff All types But wow There is just something about this “kid” that brings me back each day Cheers my friend!!!! Ramble done
Thanks for the speech, it has worried me that she sang old jazz. In recent years she has experimented with many different branches of music, old and newer songs. She has the choice between becoming a beloved singer for a limited audience or trying to break through for the masses. To do so, she must make her music attractive to her generation, sing what today's youth like or be able to change their taste in music. I have always been afraid that she will end up as Sissel Kyrkjebø, the best singer I have ever heard but unfortunately unknown to the general public. Btw I am 63 yo.
But that limited audience world wide is still going to be millions. She will fill halls regardless. At what point does it matter how immensely successful will she be. It only matters that those who enjoy it continue to support her. She can only do so much then she becomes a machine to reach volume expectations. Then the whole thing gets ruined. I hope she does the JJ. Cake approach and happen by a studio with a couple years worth of her own work and drop tracks of gold. Then off for her own experiences.
@@osovagabundo1 Yes I agrea what is importent is that she keep her love/need for singing. She has always sayed that she want to sing for the hole world and becomming a superstar. If she keep up with that decier she have to win her generations hearts also. Hopefully without loosing her angels.
I love it when you ramble off on one of your reactions. I think you know your audience, and yes for the most part we’re probably older than you. Personally, I’m 76 and have enjoyed most genres of music all my life. My next door neighbor worked for Wurlitzer had the first home organ I’d ever seen or heard. I always aspired to having one, and now I do and play (poorly) mainly songs from the 40’s and 50’s. I dabbled in folk singing in the 60’s. I still have 300+ vinyl albums that are like irreplaceable parts of my life. Currently, I love Angelina, a capella groups, and listen to classic Country and western in the car. Silence drives me crazy. My favorite piece of music is Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin & Orchestra in D Major, Op. 35. Oh, I like classical guitar.
Glad to hear you like this so I'm going to recommend "I'm Still Holding Out For You". ua-cam.com/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/v-deo.html Seriously amazing vocals from AJ at 10. She did a demo for Baby FuzZ who couldn't find anyone to record it after AJ's mom nixed her performance - some one eventually leaked the demo, and he eventually recorded the song, as did another woman.
Hello my friend. Great reaction ! And I really think you hit the nail on the head. It's equally important for both the listener and the artist to evolve. When speaking of Angelina, I believe it's the tone and quality of her voice rather than WHAT kind of genre or songs she sings that draws you in. In some way I feel like Angelina can be some sort of missing link in music, and that she may open up both her younger and her older fanbase's taste towards a broader understanding of both the old classic style of music as well as the more modern stuff. Imagine being an artist with a fanbase like that ? Anyway, here's to hoping...lol Enjoy the weekend and take care my friend. Love from Norway ❤️❤️💪
Ellis, you make a great point about expanding your comfort zone of music! You probably know all about this new guy, but if you haven't reacted yet to Jacob Collier, I'd love to hear your take on his amazing work. Every single piece he does takes us out of a comfort zone, and yet it's mesmerizing. I wasn't a jazz fan before Angelina Jordan, but between AJ and Jacob Collier, I am. And if you love to focus on classical guitar, I say do what you love and the audience will find you.
Great reaction! Again!! Yeah Phil Collins. In the air Tonight, One More Night come to mind. Love the Catfather t shirt. Hey I'm 59 and I all about new music. I mean oldies are great, but I'm not getting stuck in the past. Not ever!
Age 77.(50 with 27 years experience) I have been following Angelina 3 years Also AURORA , Sophie Fatu, Diana Ankudinova , Ane Brun, and many others that do not use bad language or over exposed body parts.
👩🏻🎤🎵🌎⭐️🇳🇴❤️ Angelina has introduced me to a lot of contemporary or recent music that I would have otherwise never listened to or become familiar with. The vast majority of songs that she covers are also not songs that I would ever take the time to listen to much, without her singing them. But when she sings a song it's like she breathes new life into it, and it becomes a brand new song, whether it's from the 1940's or last year. Born to Die is a song by Lana Del Rey, from 2012 (the song is actually about an abusive relationship, that is going nowhere and is therefore "born to die"). Without Angelina covering it I may never have heard of it, but since she did cover it I looked for the original and listened to it. I don't think I've listened to the original again since then, because it just didn't impress me. And yet, I've listened now to Angelina's cover of it literally hundreds of times, and it never gets old.
That was great and fun ranting. Many thanks. Took me back a few years. Santana, comadores come mind. At 65 Neal Diamond, Eagles, Creadance. Love your channel peace ✌
I think this is the best born to die cover. Angelina grab my attention since i saw her singing 'Bang Bang' on the voice years ago, you need to check that one too.
I have asked, many times, to be given one singer, present or past, who has displayed the versatility excellence with regard to numerous, different genres, as this young girl has done? Have never received one name in reply, so that should be something to note. She is referred to as 'The Girl Of A Thousand Voices' by those who have heard her 130 + songs since she was 6 and it may be a slight overstatement but not by that much. LOL.
And please do classical guitar reactions. I have an empty lexicon about it but i love to listen to it. If you could say more about it that would be great.
I am 65yo and this is my favorite cover of Angelina's. I am a fan of Blues and Jazz and this is what brought me to Angelina. I also love old time rock and roll and classic rock. There is some modern music I like, but most of it seems to be a bit cookie cutter. All that being said Angelina's voice can sell anything. I don't care what she sings, she conveys feelings. No matter what your age you enjoy Angelina.
Great reaction! Again!! Yeah Phil Collins. In the air Tonight, One More Night come to mind. Love the Catfather t shirt. Hey I'm 59 and I'm all about new music. I mean oldies are great, but I'm not getting stuck in the past. Not ever! Give me some Tool, Dream Theatre, Eskobar, Portishead, Three Doors Down, and I love me some good, clean hip hop. And Angie, of course!
Excellent reaction. I don't mind the enhanced audio... it's still Angelina's interpretation, tone and sung with her emotion and passion. This is one of the songs where the pop filter blocked people's view of her singing. She moved more to a side view (I Have Nothing) and later she stopped using it completely.
I enjoy her doing jazz, my favorite genre, but I would love for her to include some EDM tracks in the same album. Need to disturb the status quo a little bit. Shake things up. I went through periods of New Wave, trance, rave, and EDM during my college years and when I heard of her dropping an EDM track 'Above the Water' earlier last year, I jumped for joy. and it was good. damn good. So I hope Angelina won't be pigeonholed into just one genre. 'Song for A' is another one of her originals that demonstrates her versatility. EDM track 'Above the Water' and the classical 'Song for A' are so opposite from each other.
OK, so a bunch of your rambling thoughts were totally unrelated to Angelina's performance. And, I'm 76 and thoroughly enjoyed your "stream of consciousness" comments. See, that's what I subscribed for. I can find AJ reactions that are full of "Wow", "Amazing", "How can she do that", "I've no words", etc. Wait, tangential squirrel, just noticed you did a Davie504 segment on a vid I had watched on his channel a day or two ago. I'm going to go watch it. High expectations for your reaction on that one.
Great advice! A good way to impress - or more importantly, simply connect with - young people, is to know some of the music they are listening to. I have teenage daughters, and it is great to be able to the discuss the good and the bad of today’s popular music with them. My daughters are of course long past being impressed by anything their dull dad can do…with maybe the sole exception being me playing along with or putting a guitar solo on something they are actually listening to themselves. At least if I don’t ruin the song in the process. This is a strange song that doesn’t really go anywhere.GREAT lyrics and storytelling, though. I find Lana del Reys original flat and boring as hell, except when listened to along with the excellent video. Angelina’s puts all of the storytelling into her voice and vastly improves the original. And yes, the vocals are expertly processed, bringing out the best in a wonderful performance. It looks and sounds deceivingly simple, but the long, repetitious lines and lack of any musical curve or crescendo actually makes it really hard. It takes a great vocalist to pull this off and keep our attention through the whole song, as Angelina does here.
I think i've heard you react to "I'm Still Holding Out For You" .. but if not, I really recommend it. Also, "This is a Man's World" with the Oslo Military Band. One of the things that I see a lot in younger folks is walking outdoors with earplugs in their ears. What I, an "older" person, love about being out in nature is that itself .. being out in nature .. and allowing all my senses to be in nature with me and awake to the sounds .. the birds, the river .. wind in the trees .. and the smells that go along with it all .. and the beauty too .. so all my senses get a break from everything that I have to do and the busyness of it all and go to another place .. and the less technology I take the better I feel and the more I feel rested and full and comforted and peaceful. I do not have the desire to listen to music or talk on the phone. Age? Most probably in some ways .. since it's what I've learned about myself in my 70 years alive that is the most nurturing and balancing for me .. in my life. Just sharing a little of what at least this 70 year old likes about using her time outdoors to get disconnected from the many things that need my attention. (I still work. ) The amount of time I give to music and videos and reactions is also healing and comforting but at different times ..and I make choices depending on how I feel and follow my own leading to what I want to hear. I do not really want to make music homework or work in any way .. it is my pleasure and food for my soul and I have no calling to listen to music I don't like . I did plenty of that at other times in my life. As I've gotten older, I choose simplicity more and more. (Thought you might like to hear from one of the old people over 45.) 😊
You should react to Lana Del Rey's Born to Die and Blue Jeans. I played those over and over until she publicly stated that she didn't want conservatives attending her shows.
----- - I really love how you put that... One should always try to broaden one's horizon, and in this case, it's musically speaking. Euphemistically, I presently live in the land of mid-life crisis. And yet, I found that there is a great diversity in the music people listen to and enjoy, or not...as you said. Even among my closest friends or general acquaintances that come and go through the years. I grew up on a lot of the oldies from the late 1800s and up. When they became popular from the 1920s, and the like. I've also listened to my fair share of 30s, 40s, 50s, etc... Unlike most, if not all, of my friends around my age or younger. They seemed stuck in their present, and only listen to what was vibing at the time back then. And in the later years seem, at least to me, that they are still a bit stuck or set in their ways, you might say when it comes to music. Might be a bit controversial, but there are no bad artists... Rather, there are different tastes. I have yet to come across an artist that I like all their stuff that they put out, and that includes Angelina Jordan. -----
I get what you're saying. I'm 70 and grew up with 60's and 70's music. When MTV came on the scene, man! I dug Phil Collins, Michael Jackson et al. However, I can't listen to that era much anymore because I burned out on it when I was younger and am still burned out. Now I like early jazz the way through Miles Davis. But I am crazy about Spanish classical guitar, flamenco, Bach Organ, Chopin piano, everything Beethoven and Mozart. I have a playlist of every Requiem mass by the great masters, culminating with Verdi's requiem (BBC Proms 2012 conducted by Semyon Bychkov). Some newer music occasionally makes it past my filters when one of the grandkids plays something. Most of the new stuff is so processed, it reminds me of musical bologna. I don't really want to know what goes into it. Angelina has opened my eyes to more types of music. I have hear every piece on her playlist at least 20 times, some much, much more often. She brings me peace. I love your perspectives. Finally, someone intelligent is making me think. Pink hair and classical guitar? Sure, why not.
That 13-18 year rant resonates with me. When I was 13 The Beatles had their breakthrough and when I turned 19 they broke up (I especially recollect their performance on Swedish Television in October 1963, one of their first TV- performances outside the UK ua-cam.com/video/vBJW4HrbJt4/v-deo.html). That was of course very formative years. Btw. Rolling Stones were just too "noisy" for me, I was more into the "easy listening" type of music like Burt Bacharach, Herp Alpert, The Supremes and also musicals, film music and classical (first classical LP i bought in the 1960ies was Tchaikovksky piano concerto no 1 ), even as a teenager. Nowadays I'm into for instance Lady Gaga, Paloma Faith, Katy Perry, Alanis Morissette, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Aurora, and recent discovers like Grace Vanderwaal (who's songwriting in some way recalls the songwriting of The Beatles to me), Courtney Hadwin (who of course reminds me of Janis Joplin) and Angelina Jordan (and many, many others).
And also, in the 70ies, as a Swede I became a fan of classical guitarist Göran Söllscher (whom you may heard of) with his 11-string Swedish Bolin guitar, especially made for him. I see that I have at least three LPs with him. ua-cam.com/video/n41DXVn1_GE/v-deo.html
I heard what you said at the end I think you would really enjoy holding out for you, and her cover of stay by Rihanna I'm 51 and have an 3xtremely eclectic taste in music I listen to everything mainly rock and alternative. But I really love good rap, pop, classic rock, eighties the only thing I really don't listen to is country unless it's got a rock vibe I am really very knowledgeable in all music. You'll really like these 2 songs also her original songs million miles and seventh Heaven. I actually wrote most of this before you listed what you listened to at the end. So I wasn't just repeating what you said 😁
You shouldn’t assume that everyone is stuck in their “time” zone. I can appreciate BTS, Sam Smith, Adele, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Black Eyed Peas, etc., as much as classic jazz, country, opera and classical music.
This song really showcases her vocal range. The only other song where she sings even lower is "How Great Thou Art" ua-cam.com/video/WLAEy1LIHrc/v-deo.html
Mine is meant to be a constructive criticism ... but why do you music reactors say you don't know a song and react on it? Wouldn't it be smarter to listen to the original first? Lana Del Rey is a famous and talented singer as is Angelina Jordan ... yet the differences in this song are many (in my opinion) There are many good reactors, like you, so do things professionally!
Love your reactions. We know she has talent exceptional talent and I love your Kommentaries on everything.. Your good.. Im 59 years lol
YOU MUST her when she sing.....I m holding out for you....the voice in that song is so beautiful to Rich....
Totally agree with you
I think this is one of Angelena’s best renditions which she delivered to total perfection.
I'm 52yrs old and i listen to 'most' genres from all era's.
55 and this is my favorite Jordans covers. More of this. Will listen to your guitar sessions.
Love it 💕
I love this cover and i'm old as dirt! I have to keep reminding myself that she was a child at this time. Good choice, Ellis. Thank you.
64 here and never heard her do one I did not like. I've heard about 90% of what she has on UA-cam. This is in the top 10 for me.
Beatles, Motown, Philly my deepest music loves, then came along Angelina and took the crown, a timeless princess!
Another great analysis from you👍 I am 50+ and this is my favorite of all her covers 👏👍❤️
Of course, she does have the advantage of having the most beautiful voice 🥰
Anyway, your ramblings are stellar 👍🏻🌟
I'm 56 and I have never followed an artist as I have followed Angelina. I was mesmerized by her the first time I heard and saw her on Norwegian Television back in January 2014. She was this tiny little 7 year old with an incredible voice and just dragging you in. I have been there since. Btw we are not THAT old....hehehe Love everything. Love the sound in the voice. Don't forget Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney is now nearly 80 and still playing rock.
Hege. I totally relate to your comment and I have watched Angelena since she won noways got talent she is just awesome
✌️😎
I've never listened to Jazz before, until I've heard Angelina 😅
I found this reaction WISE. totally true. I just like music because music is to be felt (I think) no matter the type, year or artist. So far the overall Angelina is the one that hit me the most.yes you were right 52 right here.....
I totally agree with your comment
Very true, agree🤝 with ur opinion and ❤️ ur ramble too😁
Angelina is simply amazing, best singer of her generation without a doubt.
Love your smile when Angelina start singing.
Barely 12 here- and can we appreciate the insane fact that english is her THIRD language!
I'm 35 and I enjoy AJ's cover,, and I always ❤️ your honest reaction.. 👍
And yes the beat sounds much of Phill Collins'... Nice 🙂 great job!
Nice observation with a little Phil Collins DNA🎵 sprinkling
I had never made the Phil Collins connection, but I think you're right. Another nice analysis, and another beautiful cover by Angelina.
Wow Ellis, another enlightening analysis with a beautiful hard-hitting rant. 🤣
I was fortunate (due to circumstances beyond my control) to have broken out of that “the music of my youth perfect” shell in my mid twenties.
No seriously... their summer home is at the Saratoga Performing Art Center in Saratoga Springs NY, and I have performed the “1812 Overture” as one of their Artillerists (we provide three of the seven cannons required for the performance).
My point is and I think yours as well, is that variety is the spice of life. Open up your heart to all types of music.
I love your common sense advice to Angelina too, on how to expand her audience.
Keep doing what you’re doing! 👍👍👍
your immedeate smile puts a smile on my face. yes. it is amazing.
And if Angelina had a concert in my area I would pay to go see it, as long as it had seats!😂
Love to see Angelina do some rockabilly, wouldn’t that be a hoot! 🤣
I’d bet good money she could do it!
love your insightful reaction to our queen to be ,im fae SW Scotland so i would love you to do a song for A ,its on a poem fae rabbie burns,im 50 and love music of most types fae the 20s to now
well i have heard females and males over the many years i have lived on this earth and to be honest i cant ever remember anyone who has made tears flow from me , until i heard this young girl sing and sometimes i cant stop them :)

Great points. Keep at it.
E, god you are so spot on
Why do I keep coming back to you for YOUR reactions to the Angel.
Because you are so honest
But good
And your details and knowledge and perception and reactions
Just right on!
I have seen maybe 3dozen reactors to Angelina, all types
None come close to you, your knowledge
Your wisdom.
Oh, by the way- love your smile when the song starts and she or something she did wows you
So honest and sincere
And your rants…. Rantastic
Cheers from 64 yr old
Ps
Still have all my albums from say 1968 on …..
Listen to them and now
Electronic dance music
DJ mix stuff
All types
But wow
There is just something about this “kid” that brings me back each day
Cheers my friend!!!!
Ramble done
Variety is the spice of life.
I think it's a Lana Del Ray cover!
Love your shirt! BTW I'm 73 and she brought me back to music with her Jazz.
Same here!!!
Ellis you ramble well...I appreciate your insights. Keep it up.
Enjoyed your reaction!
Please continue doing Angelina’s covers or original songs.
Thank you!!
Truth Ellis! Love your reactions always food for thought...madly off in all directions 😆
Thank you for this reaction. No guitar to focus on ? Lol😃😃. Love your insight and way of expressing yourself. 👍👍
Blow my mind!,,
Glad to hear you like this so I'm going to recommend "I'm Still Holding Out For You". ua-cam.com/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/v-deo.html Seriously amazing vocals from AJ at 10. She did a demo for Baby FuzZ who couldn't find anyone to record it after AJ's mom nixed her performance - some one eventually leaked the demo, and he eventually recorded the song, as did another woman.
Personally, her best song ever. Only thing better would have been watching her sing it.
It's another masterpiece.
Anyway, here's to hoping...lol
Enjoy the weekend and take care my friend.
I would agree that there is a bit of the Phil Collins to this beat.
Ellis, I'm very sorry about your relative passing from covid. Also, sending healing, loving vibes to your other relative in hospital.
Enjoyed your reaction to this , thumbs up 👍
That was great and fun ranting.
I agree with you Ian this is the best cover of born to die
I have asked, many times, to be given one singer, present or past, who has displayed the
versatility excellence with regard to numerous, different genres, as this young girl has done?
Have never received one name in reply, so that should be something to note. She is
referred to as 'The Girl Of A Thousand Voices' by those who have heard her 130 + songs
since she was 6 and it may be a slight overstatement but not by that much.
My 11yo granddaughter keeps listening to Angelina’s cover of Crazy on her album It’s Magic every time she’s in my car 😊
Nice ramblings!
Above the water is now listed as the most popular song of TRXD on spotify 😇
@@hans-georgschroter7887 Apparently they new what they were doing when they asked Angelina to sing it.
@@wajj1842 and they are also Norwegians and had heard what she did with AW life in Bergen
🙏🙏👍👍💙💙
OK, so a bunch of your rambling thoughts were totally unrelated to Angelina's performance. And, I'm 76 and thoroughly enjoyed your "stream of consciousness" comments. See, that's what I subscribed for. I can find AJ reactions that are full of "Wow", "Amazing", "How can she do that", "I've no words", etc. Wait, tangential squirrel, just noticed you did a Davie504 segment on a vid I had watched on his channel a day or two ago. I'm going to go watch it. High expectations for your reaction on that one.
Amazing 👍😊
Hope you will react to “Im still holding out for you” 🙏
Great advice!
(Thought you might like to hear from one of the old people over 45.) 😊
“As I’ve gotten older, I choose simplicity more and more.” Resonate with me!
You should react to Lana Del Rey's Born to Die and Blue Jeans. I played those over and over until she publicly stated that she didn't want conservatives attending her shows.
Could be a James Bond song😀
-----
- I really love how you put that...
"WE NEED MORE COWBELLS!" ;)
So I wasn't just repeating what you said 😁
I'm a recently 63 but feel like 30
You shouldn’t assume that everyone is stuck in their “time” zone. I can appreciate BTS, Sam Smith, Adele, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Black Eyed Peas, etc., as much as classic jazz, country, opera and classical music.
As a guitarist I would like you to react Al Stewart's Year of the cat or Dire Straits (live at Nimes), unless you have already done so of course.
This song really showcases her vocal range. The only other song where she sings even lower is "How Great Thou Art" ua-cam.com/video/WLAEy1LIHrc/v-deo.html
React : Rohff qui est l’exemple
Sorry NO eq or effects were used on her voice please 🙏 please go through her music
Yes, what was that about??
God knows
I'm 81, check out my playlist. Angelina Jordan Playlist By Terry M.
