    What a great video! Ive been shopping around online and doing my research on multi function air fryer ovens. I keep coming back to this one. I really like its capacity and its temperature range. I also like all the accessories it comes with.
    I'm probably going to buy it. Found a cyber Monday deal for $139 at Walmart.👍🏼
    I do have a question about it though.
    Do you happen to know what the different numbers mean that come after the manufacturers name i.e. 47270, and a bunch of other ones?
    Thanks for the the great video. I look forward to watching your other ones.😁

      Thank you so very much for the kind thoughts. I really love this device. For $139 that is the steal of a deal. I'm not sure what the numbers signify. I think they are different depending on what store it's being sold at and what accessories it comes with. Sometimes they are sold it a lesser price with lesser accessories so just make sure you know what it comes with before purchasing it. Appreciate you tuning in. 😊

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 роки тому

      It definitely does bake potatoes very efficiently. Toast is okay but you may want to still use your toaster. For pizza it works great. I recently put out a pizza video if you look at my list of videos. Of course for pizza you definitely want to bake and not air fry with this device otherwise the crust won't get heat from the bottom.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  Рік тому +1

      You should never touch the doors directly after heating up the oven. You should only use the handles. The handles will be very warm to the touch but not hot by any means. Not to the point where they will burn you.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  Рік тому

      I don't think that would work. The grill grate is specifically designed for the Kalorik Maxx Grill. It rests on top of the lower heating elements (and has cutouts on the bottom for them) and also rests on a temperature probe that it also has a cutout for.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 роки тому

      Mine is still working excellent. There are reports of people that have had their devices stop working. Usually it's because the thermal fuse inside blows. This usually happens if there is not adequate ventilation. Make sure to have at least 4 in of space on both sides and the top. Also make sure it's not slid into a hutch or anything like that. I would make sure there is at least six to eight inches clearance on the rear side. Those are the only things I can think about in regards to this issue.

      I have never used anything in the recipe book. I think the temperatures are much too hot. I don't even think I have the cookbook anymore. What temperature did it have you cook the chicken at? The smoke point for chicken fat is 375°. I usually cook my chicken anywhere between 350 to 360°. If you were cooking the chicken anywhere from 375 and upward then it is going to create smoke.

    It might be a great oven but I’ll never know. First unit arrived with a defective door and the replacement arrived with a huge dent, (both out of the box that way) and since they already replaced it once, between the retailer and manufacturer I’m caught in an endless loop of finger pointing and “not our policy”🤷🏽‍♀️.
    Hopefully it resolves but that’s an expensive appliance to just have no one take responsibility.

      You are very welcome to Teresa. The bake function works pretty decent. I have tested it with cookies and cake and they came out great. With the previous version of the Maxx I made a loaf of bread once and it came out great. They're literally is no difference between the previous version and the new grill version as far as the bake mode is concerned. The only thing you have to keep in mind which is true with some ovens is that the back tends to get done a little quicker than the front so rotating whatever you are baking might be necessary.

Mine only shows the degrees i selected and doesn’t rise up like you mentioned in your videos. Thanks

      When using your frame mode you won't see the temperature counting as it rises. That only works during Grill mode. It doesn't seem possible to take out the bottom tray under the grill elements to clean. There is mention of a "crumb tray" but I can't see where that is. Without being able to take out the bottom tray for cleaning fat and grunge builds up quickly and can cause flare ups. It look like its a real chore to keep the base clean and avoid lots of smoke!

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  11 місяців тому

      At around the 1 minute 30 mark in this video I show the crumb tray. If you did not receive that then you would be dripping stuff onto the bottom of the device and that would not be good at all. If you are missing that item I recommend contacting the manufacturer at Kalorik.com.

      @@MrDonXX you are very welcome. I truly believe that a lot of devices failed because of improper ventilation. I have heard of an inline thermal fuse going out on people. I don't think it's exactly the norm though. I'm one of the moderators in a large Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven group. We have seen a bunch of people experience that problem and some people experience it more than others and multiple times which leads me to believe it has something to do with the environment and or ventilation. That being said there are definitely thousands of users who have never had a problem with theirs. If you decide to get one I really hope it works out well for you. It definitely runs pretty warm on the outside. After all it is in oven, a countertop oven. It will only overcook the things in the back if you have them all the way against the back wall. In such cases you need to rotate the food halfway through cooking. Not sure why it went out on you. Ventilation is very important with these devices. You need to make sure to have at least 4 in of clearance on the sides, top and maybe a few inches more from the back.

Do you experience this too? It's super clean inside so no grease residue or anything like that. It always trips my smoke detector because of the smoke. Even then it's not really much at all and most of it stays in the oven. It could be due to the temperature that you are cooking things at but I'm not certain. Okay, I just received my new Kalorik Maxx and I was a little concerned because after the burn I went to open the doors and burned my hand because the entire machine was very HOT! Was that supposed to happen? Anyway, moved on to trying it out by cooking a rotisserie chicken but the chicken was too big so I’m just air frying it…I’ll update you when it’s done. Oh! One more thing I noticed, it looks big on your show and other areas of advertising but when I unboxed it and put it on my counter it looks very small…not a deal breaker.

      It definitely does get hot after the burn in at 500°. Definitely don't touch the doors or the sides of the device when it's in operation or even shortly thereafter. It is a countertop oven so it's going to run hot. I have three air fryer ovens from different manufacturers and they're all like that. You're definitely brave for trying a full chicken for your first cooking adventure. I have not tried to rotisserie a full chicken or even cook a full chicken yet. I'm not sure what to say about the size. I'm definitely not a promoter or advertiser for their product. I just have passion and reviewing kitchen accessories and truly believe in this device.

    Great demo Andy! I recently got the Kalorik Grill. A question....When I do Grill function and Broil function (which is in the Oven mode), the stronger fan aka air fryer fan turns on, instead of just the weaker “oven” fan. All other functions, except Grill and Broil, that are in Oven mode, the stronger fan does not run, just the softer sounding fan. Does yours have the air fryer fan going during Grill and Broil? Just thought all Oven mode presets would be with the softer sounding fan...Thanks for demo!

      Thank you very much Karen! I think the only function in oven mode that uses the air fry fan is Grill mode although I could be mistaken and need to check it when I get home tonight. You could tell because the functions that use the air fry fan we'll have a fan symbol on the left of the display when it's in operation. The softer fan is only used for helping the oven ventilate.

Our biggest gripe with the older model is that after a year of use & cleaning, all the numbers/letters are gone. Poor quality in that regard.

    Andy. You were so precise about everything that my husband and I have subscribed to you for this brand new Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Grill Oven. I love barbecued food but its getting to the point where my spouse gives it up in the winter. I just finished doing the Burn-In and did notice that the 20 minutes was for preheat on grill. Now when I really put a wonderful piece of steak on, do I have to wait for 20min while it pre-heats and then set it again for the time and temp I want? And also, how long should it be seared on each side at 500F.? When I get to know the oven I'll probably kick myself for asking. But, at this point I only know what you said in the tutorial. SO MUCH HELP THANK YOU BARBARA

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 роки тому

      Hi Barbara, thank you so much for the kind thoughts and I appreciate you both subscribing to my channel. I haven't timed it yet but it should only take about 10 minutes for the preheat to 500° in Grill mode. I'll have to time it someday. Also if you set the time a lot higher than what you need you won't have to worry about it turning off on you prematurely. A lot of the times I set the time higher and I use my cell phone to gauge the time or set a stopwatch on my cell phone. Depending on the doneness you would like the steak cooked and how thick of a cut the steak is will determine on how long to cook it for on each side. For a 1-in cut I would go about four and a half minutes each side and then check it with a probe to see if it's at the doneness you desire. When cooking steak I always use an in oven temperature probe. That way I could monitor it along the way. So I'm kind of guessing at the times that I mentioned. I did put out a steak video that you'll see in my list of videos. When you have a second check that one out.

    Hi Andy. I have watched a few of your videos. I have this oven that I purchased in Late April from the Kalorik website. I wondered why I had to hit the start button 3-4 times before it would start. I contacted Kalorik & they sent me another oven. How do you tell which oven production you have? Well about a week after I got it, it died while I was using the rotisserie with popcorn in it.( I watched your video on that & I ordered the basket from Kalorik) Best tasting popcorn by the way. So yes I’m on the third oven. So far so good. I’m keeping my fingers crossed! I do love the grill plate & the rotisserie. When using the rotisserie the chicken was hitting the heating elements on the bottom middle. I had to watch another video from kalorik on how to tie up the chicken. I had to watch their video a bunch of times because they did it so fast. I had to tie it up so tight. The 2 chickens I purchased from Sam’s club were 10 lbs combined. Would you please do a rotisserie chicken & please share what size chicken you used? The chicken came out very juicy inside & crispy outside. Thank you so much!

      Hi Suzanne, thank you so much for watching my videos. Sorry that you have been experiencing issues with your Maxx Grill. Hopefully the one you received recently will last. In regards to the latest revision you can only tell by the shipping carton and the Box inside the shipping carton. Looking at the device there's nothing distinguishable. The latest revision will have SS2 after the model number on the shipping carton or product box. I've actually never rotisserie the whole chicken before. That is something I've wanted to do but a little bit timid to try it. I know you definitely have to tie it up very tight from what I have heard. I'm going to be moving on August 1st. Moving into my dad's condo which has a very nice kitchen. He is 94 years old and wants me to be around him in addition I would love to be around him. I'll definitely try to schedule that very soon after I move. I do love a good rotisserie chicken. Glad that the popcorn worked out well for you. In regards to the devices quitting on you it's because of a thermal fuse. I'm just not sure why it keeps happening to some people and others don't have an issue at all. It really is so bizarre. Thanks again for your support and for your comment.
