  • My middle daughter asked for a toy kitchen for christmas. Yes, you can buy plastic ones rather cheap, but where is the point in that? Enter Sterling Davis' pallet upcycle challenge, and I give to you the Pallet Kitchen. Enjoy, and remember to be Inspired!

That was really good! I'm building a small/tiny csbin for myself and I may just try upscaling it as kitchen shelves and worktop with a hole for a real sink/washbasin with just an outlet pipe for grey water until I can afford solar panels for pumps etc. Thanks for the inspiration. I also saw some nice kitchen cupboards made from pallets for a tiny house on wheels so I'll probably use both ideas in order to have a smaller than normal kitchen. I will be using a wood stove for basic cooking so it would all help to store dry food/ cooking utensils etc. Thanks again for the idea.

***** Thank you for the idea Dominic, I just thought the bit for the sink and the little cupboard bits could be translated into a small kitchen. I will upload my progress once I get better aquainted with some of the serious power tools Lol! I am glad your girls liked it I would have loved it when I was little! x

A great project Dom, If only I had a kid to build one for. It's either wait for my grandchildren to come along or go and see if my wife is up for "making one" hahaha. Thanks for all your films and humour! N.

Ah a beautiful toy kitchen. But yep you should paint the sink silver or white. But either way great project pappa. She will live it I'm sure.

Awesome job. You could use one of those left over circle handles and a scrap to make a faucet knob. I bet this design gets copied and modified by many.

All those nails sticking out the top are dangerous. Use either plastic or wooden dowels. Ive seen someone with a hook through the face and kids climb on these sorts of things.

    • @BeInspiredwithDominic

In the years since they are using it we did not have any issues with that, but I agree, there are other options. We had it placed in the kitchen under a worksurface overhang, so the nails were less exposed than they appear to be. Thank you for watching!

Are you using Kreg pocket hole screws or have you found other/alternative screws ?
I'm looking for other screws for my pocket hole joinery, since these screws are quite expensive where I live.

Forgot them when I made this, and looking at how my kids used the faucet it must have one of these fancy sensors that let the water run when you hold your hands in front of it. Thanks for watching!
