What made Jacob want to wrestle the man to begin with? How did he know the man needed to bless him?How did he know the man was an angel? The bible says he saw God face to face. I'm a very young Christian so any help would be great!

How sad, that the modern-day form of Judaism (which is nothing more than the sect of the Pharisees, which came to dominate all of Israel during the dispersion) has, in its attempt to reverence the Name of YHVH, has come to forbid the use of that Name. Instead of enriching God's people, self-generated righteousness has robbed them of the greatest treasure they ever had: the Name of their God.

Hi can somebody help me? I have a question. I understand that God's intention for marriage is between one man and one women. Why in the Old Testament do many of the men chosen to lead by God have more then one wife? Isn't that a sin? Was there a reason for it?
I'd just like to comment that upon studying Genesis I've learned that the first case of polygamy was with Cains great great great Grandson Lamech who had two wives named Adah and Zilla. Cain was cast out of the Lord's presence so to think it's safe to assume his family also was not in His presence, and in Genesis 4:23-24 he seems to be boasting about his having of two wives considering he makes it a point in having them, and proceeds to compare his sin of killing a man, (or hypothetical killing of a man..?) To that of Cain. I also now understand that women back then were unable to provide for themselves because they depended completely upon the men in their family, otherwise having to become prostitutes or live on the street which was horrible for a woman, so it may have been possible that although God's ultimate design was one man, one woman, and Himself, it could be that God was protecting these women from greater evil and sin. Also I did read it could possibly have also been that it was part of God telling Adam and Eve to be fruitful, to populate the Earth and that was faster achieved through polygamy. Another food for thought that had me thinking about this was that when Adam and Eve Sinned, they broke marriage and communion with each other for they sinned against each other, thus putting a wedge in marriage for them and their seed, and when Jesus died on the cross marriage was restored again. I could be wrong and please correct me if I am, I just want to learn, and to learn what is right! I hope this helps someone who might also be confused about the Old Testament, people really did have it rough back then, Jesus made salvation really easy!

What do you think the above scriptures mean? Either Satan is defeated already or he's not!-OR-we have a huge contradiction in the Word of God!-Human beings are the source of evil-not Satan(Jer 17:9;Mark 7:20-22;James 1:12-14)Nowhere in scripture will you find it saying that Satan is an angel-let alone an evil angel.A "satan"is any person or group of people who are intentionally against God's people.They are"adversary's"or enemies of God's people.So,theirs is a very specific kind of evil-not all evil.Satan simply means"adversary or enemy".In the old test.that word was never capitalized into a name-but for some reason the KJV translators personalized it(but not so in other translations).At one point,it even says the God was a"satan"towards somebody..And the word"devil"goes along the same lines-meaning"accuser or slanderer".Satan is not an angel with supernatural powers like God's.He can't be everywhere at once-nor does he have a trillion demons at his disposal.He cannot read minds or whisper things in your ear making you think they are your thoughts.That's all myth.And,when you think about it,why would God let an angel with all his comrades rebel in the first place?-especially since he knows the future? Why didn't he just not create him? Or why did he send him down to earth to be against his people,seeing that man doesn't need any help to do evil? Is that fair? Sounds like a myth created by men,to me.-The Jews were"satans"to Christians in the 1st century.They went"around like a roaring lion"seeking Christians to devour,like Saul of Tarsus.Nero and his cohorts were"satans"also..So quit blaming the devil for all the evil in the world.We have met the enemy or satan-and he is us.

I gave you at least three scripture references about Satan being defeated already-you gave me one.I could give you more and I could you an explanation of the passage you sent--but I get the feeling that it's not worth it.I get the feeling that you don't want to know the truth of the matter-just reinforcement of what you already believe.I can't help you there.
Have you asked Jesus into your heart... to be your Lord & Savior? Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit? Curious? Have you repented of all your sin and turn from it completely?

Most mam made churches preach 21 minutes because they have to abide by the board of directors rules. The pastor of a church I attended for 7 years preached 30 minutes on tithing and 21 minutes on his prepared message. Right before starting his prepared message, he would tell the camera guys, START THE CLOCK. He would often look at the clock so he would not go over his alloted time. Now and then he would talk and mention the names on the board of directors for his church. Marilyn Hickey and a few other 'prominent' tv evangelists were on his board of directors. Peace.

If you are in any way saying Jesus is not God, you are a deceiver. Jesus was always God John 1:1 and God became the form of a man. God does not need an anointing nor did Jesus. He is called Immanuel which means "God with us." The wise should become as fools so they can know Christ.
