I've owned dozens of Glocks, including all the custom ones from Agency, Fowler and Salient. Gen 5's killed customs, no need. G45 is my go to now. Appreciate the vids!
I've had this for about a month and absolutely love it. These mullet Glocks and the G45 in particular is Glocks best work. I've shot just about all of them in all gens and I think we've reached the Apex. Perfect for duty carry and not terrible for CCW.
@@mitchm9368I think it comes down to basic physics less mass, shorter slide. But more purchasable grip and leverage. So g45 has less "muzzle rise" imo.
Your ability to shoot is well known but I have to say that from the vid you’ve shown here that you’re shooting that G45 like it was tailored for you personally! Your filming and editing are also top notch, thanks for the great vids.
I've owned many Glocks and I really like the feel of the G45. I can't even explain why, maybe it's "balanced" just right or something. IDK, but it just feels good and works for me.
Just FYI, I bought a Glock G45 today just because of you and Mrgunsngear’s videos... and I’m not disappointed in the slightest. Best Glock out there imo. Everything you’ve pointed out I agree with which is why I bought one. Thanks!
Picked up my first Glock, a G45x MOS, a week ago, Loved it immediately. Accurate out of the box. My sentiments are similar to yours. Thinking about a Holosun SCS optic but still researching. Thanks for the excellent videos. New sub.
I found it funny that some of the same people that made fun of the FNS for the compact slide/full size grip are the same ones that love the 19X & G45 for the same reason. Branding matters! Love them both though!
Great video. I have the 45 but still choose to carry my 19 - and the reason would fall into the 'small differences'. A G19 with a +2 base plate has a slimmer profile at the base. I like that.
I appreciate the effort you put into providing a comprehensive review of firearms. Likewise, I appreciate that you take the time to shoot from a benchrest and show the potential accuracy of the firearm at 25 yards. Thanks for the informative video!
I got a G45 as my duty sidearm, I absolutely loved it, I mounted a Holosun X2 and a TLR7A as flashlight and I absolutely loved it. Perfect balance between 19 and 17 plus the front serrations improved barrel and trigger. Magazine well one hundred percent better mag release better. The trigger way better than my G19 I can tell the difference between fire and reset. I do recommend it 💯
Love this gun. We were issued the MOS version at my agency last year and it’s been great. They also approved us running RDS if we want so I’m gonna pick up an RMR and run it at work.
Your agency is awesome and has adapted to the times and changing weapons technologies. If the military can use RDSs in a warzone with no issues, idk why law enforcement agencies haven't updated duty pistols with them. The pros outweigh the cons.
Being able to comp the gun and stay at 17 length is the main reason I have looked at this as I currently carry a 17 with no issues. Thanks for the great review as always Aaron.
I agree, the accuracy of the Glock 45 is phenomenal! I put Trijicon "Bright and Tough" surpressor height night sights on my Glock 45. After I, carefully adjusted the rear sight in the notch the pistol showed great accuracy. As long as (the shooter" does his part). When not throwing off a shot, because of poor trigger control, the Glock 45 shows its true potential. I shot, from 25 yards, standing unsupported, 10 rounds of Sellier & Bellot 115gr FMJ into a 2.5" group, and 7 rounds went into the X-ring measuring 1.25"s! A Reliable, Durable, and Accurate Combat semi-auto pistol!
I check one out the other day.. I loved it, felt so much better then my 19. Now...I can say its one of my favorite glocks I have next to my 43, go figure. I very happy with my purchase.
Great review and totally agree with slide length and sight picture. The amount of difference in length really doesn’t affect your sight picture but makes a world of difference in comfort. I absolutely love this gun, bought the first one from my gun store.
I went to my local gun store today and handled the Glock 19X and the Glock 45. They both felt fantastic in my hands. But the Glock 19X did feel ever so slightly heavier without the magazines in them when I got home. I researched it on the Glock website and lo and behold. The 19X is about a 1/2 an ounce heavier Then the Glock 45 I picked the Glock 45 as my next handgun. Great information on all of your videos. Thanks for your service and input on guns
Agree on sight radius (don't know why they call it that), also agree on grip accusation on draw... Very good point. A lot easier to grip a full frame than a sub under stress... Appendix carry does in fact print less for me (especially being of small statue)... Good vid with a lot of good bullet points. Thnx
@Emmanuel Goldstein I doubt he has any "riced" Glocks. If he makes enough money to paint his guns, good for him. You sound too poor to ever know the answer to your question.
Last Line Of Defense I didn’t think it was confusing. The g22 isn’t a 22cal, the g25 isn’t a 25acp, the g40 isn’t a 40cal, g45 isn’t a 45acp. I never thought of the numbers as caliber. I always thought of it as patented numbers. When I first heard the g45 was coming out, my first thought was “ awesome, what caliber is it”. Idk maybe it’s just me, just never thought in that way
Great video. I'm glad you pointed out the accuracy and your thoughts on the barrel. Most people don't need to upgrade factory barrels other than maybe for threading.
Great review! I’ve had my Glock Model 45 for a couple of months now. I got the MOS version and put a Holosun optic on it based on your recommendation. I love the bigger frame, shorter slide. I can conceal it with a long t shirt but it does print some. Winter attire will fix that issue or I’ll just go with my 43X. Keep up the good work!!
I didn’t think I’d ever like a gun better than my g19 gen 4 until I bought the g45! Love the bigger grip! I put Ameri-glo Spartans on and like them too. It’s definitely a great shooter
Some guns just feel right, and the Glock 45 is one of them for me. It has the same dimensions and generally the same features as my FNS40, which has been my go-to firearm for some time. Now I’ve got both calibers covered. Good video by the way. Not too technical; more oriented toward us regular folks.
@@bdm1000 I would say that's an advantage. Every gun that has a preset milling for Red Dot, whether it's the Glock MOS system, or the FN 509, by virtue of the fact that it has to accommodate a wide variety of sides, is never quite as rock solid as it could be. To be honest, it's one thing if you're trying for competition, or just wanted to check out a variety of optics, but if you've already decided on a specific one, and are planning on carrying it for duty or self-defense, getting you a slide specifically milled for that particular site is by far the best option. In fact, while I really liked the idea of the FN 509 tactical, I actually got the original standard, black, model, and added the sights and the barrel at my own cost, probably more than the factory package would have cost, just so I could get it properly milled for an RMR, and not have to use their variable plate system.
Man I didn't even know there was a G45! That size profile is probably perfect if your going to put a compensator on it so you can use standard G34 holsters like people have been doing with the G19.
Good video and good points made. I train and carry a G19 Gen 5 and have since last April. I also have the G17 Gen 5. Both guns I shoot well and I do love them. I'm not a Glock "fan-boy", but I wanted to focus my training on one platform to see if I can improve shooting only one gun. So far so good. I live in a non-free state of CT where we are limited to 10 round mags so the new G45 doesn't offer me much other than the little "cut-out" is gone in the grip. Even though that doesn't bother me. I can conceal both the G19 and G17 comfortably. Just not sure why I would get a G45 other than a fun range gun maybe... Thanks
Great video Aaron I have a G45 with the Ameriglows too, great gun, have to tell you I just found your site about two weeks ago, been binge watching your stuff and its made me a better shooter! much better! would love to have a chance to train with you if you ever make it to AZ - thanks for your excellent content.
I chose G45 over the G19x. The fact G19x has magazine incompatibility issues with many of my current G17 magazines makes it a poor choice. Why should I pay to replace multiple magazines when I can have the same exact gun, but black that does fit my magazines?
With as good as the M&P is now I just have a hard time getting excited about a Glock. Plus FN has been doing this size profile for a long time. Outstanding video as usual!
Just ordered a MOS version. I don’t currently own a Glock so I hope what people are saying about it is accurate...I love my CZs so it has tall shoes to fill
For some reason the list of Glocks in my safe just keeps expanding. I was hesitant about getting the G-19x, but when the G-45 came out with all the features I was really looking for I had to open my wallet. I really like the way it handles and shoots.
So far, it’s the best handgun I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a lot. It does conceal well, IMO. Only complaint: I still would have preferred a relief cut under the trigger guard... the Glock knuckle is real.
Just got the m.o.s. version 4 days ago. After getting a Glock 19X weeks ago & being impressed with how much more comfortable it feels in my hands compared to both my Gen 5 Glock 19 m.o.s. and my Glock 44, I decided to get the Glock 45 m.o.s. as well.
I just purchased a G45 and have had some failures to feed 115 grain range ammo. It seemed to get better after 150 rounds. I've owned a 17 and 15 for years, both gen 3. Never had this issue.
I like your comment on the concealment but I use a Tier1Concealed AGIS appendix holster and my back plate rests under my belly button so for me, the handle does protrude out past my waist. It prints considerably more than my 19
I recently picked up a Glock 26 gen 5 with the ameriglo bold night sights and it had the exact same issue with the rear sight being slightly drifted and needed correcting
Just waiting for the MOS version. I’ve always loved the grip on my 17/34 more than my 19. Again just waiting on the MOS G45. Will probably trade the 19 MOS in on the G45
I carry a 19 mos. I can say I honestly wish I had just taken the price difference from mos to standard and just had my gun milled. I haven’t had any issues personally, but I don’t swap optics around so I don’t see the point. I know personally I’d be a lot happier with milled over mos.
I'm tempted to pick up a g45 but then again the g19 gen 5 mos is looking nice. Also talked to someone at CZ USA today and the p10c/f/s optics ready models will not be out this year. Told me to wait for shot show :(
Im a glock guy for sure. But the thing that drives me crazy is the fucking pricing... Why the hell does it damn near cost me 600 bucks for a gun that still needs sights...
also the gen 5s have had issues with the rear sight being off A LOT..... ive seen A LOT of them just off out of the box and we sell A LOT of them at the major retail store i work for !!!
Came close to blowing past this vidio, cause I'm not a G45 owner. That would have been a mistake. Great informative Vidio. U seem to know your stuff. I have subscribed and look forward to more shooting and talking vidios. Thanks and stay safe.
Anyone have a G19 they use to supplement their G45? Put a different optic on each and choose whatever frame/optic combination you want to shoot/carry that day.
Picked up a G45 with Ameriglo sights last week, and my rear sight was waaaaay off to the right also. I have a sight pusher, so no big deal, but everyone should be checking the rear sight before leaving the shop.
Forward cocking serrations aren't new, you are right about that. It just took Glock forever to adopt them because they are pretty dense. They need to start innovating again because they aren't the only game in town anymore. The other poly guns are at least as good or better, offer more features and are just plain better in many cases. And it is clear by the drastic reduction in offerings (only 9mm now and no plans for any other calibers in GEN5) that they are losing market share. Maybe this will shake them out of their complacency. Look how long it took them to adopt a regular pic rail instead of trying to push their proprietary one? And still the garbage sights...All of that aside, I did purchase the G45 and really like it, just not as well as the HK, SIG, Walther, or SW poly guns that I own. Great video!
My left ear enjoyed this.

Most optics companies are including longer screws that are labeled for the MOS. I've used the 34 MOS in competition and haven't had an issue.
Just get the RMR sealing plate kit. Comes with those longer screws, and the plate helps seal the RMR.
I'm tempted to pick up a g45 but then again the g19 gen 5 mos is looking nice. Also talked to someone at CZ USA today and the p10c/f/s optics ready models will not be out this year. Told me to wait for shot show :(
Excellent video thank you
Old school Taurus pt917 full size frame 4in barrel short slide. Hammer fired, yes
Thinking about grabbing the Glock 45 frame to put on my gen 5 19...
Im a glock guy for sure. But the thing that drives me crazy is the fucking pricing... Why the hell does it damn near cost me 600 bucks for a gun that still needs sights...
First video of yours I've seen, nice work
Fantastic video thank you
Awesome review of the Glock 45. 👍
I think the G19 gen5 MOS is the best Glock they’ve made to date.
also the gen 5s have had issues with the rear sight being off A LOT..... ive seen A LOT of them just off out of the box and we sell A LOT of them at the major retail store i work for !!!
Ejection looks like my gen 5 19 mos. Definetly no issues with brass to the rmr.
Picked up a G45 with Ameriglo sights last week, and my rear sight was waaaaay off to the right also. I have a sight pusher, so no big deal, but everyone should be checking the rear sight before leaving the shop.
I have a Sig X-Carry, with almost identical proportions/dimensions, so I can see why you like the G45.
Great review ! This is definitely my next purchase !
