The game that bankrupted Mikro-Gen - Shadow of the Unicorn - Lets build a Mikro Plus and play it!

Shadow of the Unicorn was a graphical adventure for the ZX Spectrum using bespoke additional hardware, the MIkro Plus. Due to the cost of development and poor sales, it ultimately led to their demise.
But let's build it anyway and see what it was like!

another tell for locating pin one is the square soldering pad. this is useful if there is no silk screened info shows the orientation of the chip.

Cool that this exists. I've still got my original from way back when and can remember not playing it much even after reading the book and instructions that came with it

@@RaceDayReplayGreat that you still have it! . I watched a bit of a walkthrough video on completing the game. Even that didn't grab me as a game worth putting the effort in to play it. Such a shame really

you don't need a cart to play it if you have a 128 machine.. there is a bootloader instead that gets around that

Yes probably so. I'm no expert but I'm guessing there were issues here with addressing additional RAM
