    People always want to complain about things but the truth is, since I bought this thing, I’ve made some unique sounding shit. You can tell a difference from my other tracks with just Omnisphere or Arturia vsts. It’s a thicker sound and the analog detune has a certain feel you can’t replicate in VSTs. At first glance, you can pull up the default sound and compare it to Arturias Minimoog vst and they sound exactly the same, which they would be cause they just copied and pasted the default sound. It’s when you start twisting knobs when you can hear the difference. You can’t copy and paste knob movements and that’s what separates this. Not to mention the HW connectivity to my Omnisphere with this and the fact that I can record midi and knob movements to apply to any other sound for layering. Saving presets is sick too I’ve already made 30 custom 808 sounds that are way more musical then a spinz 808 in a sampler. Well worth $500 for a classic piece that will be worth more than double in the future. Oh yeah, some moog filters sell for this amount alone and you can use this as an effect box for external instruments. I’ve already ran some mixes through it and it gave it a feel I couldn’t find in my plugin filters.

    Everyone thats criticising this, think for a min. Price aside- this is the most portable way to get that Moog sound WITH patch memory, integrated DAW hosting, lots of under the hood features. For someone like me that has gigged with a Minitaur since 2015, its the perfect form factor for travelling with for Moog bass and now leads. Theres some very practical aspects to this synth that folks are overlooking- ie its size and sound, I can now have a box that sounds much like my Source and Voyager (yeah I know its only 2 oscs) but with full note range. To me thats a huge plus and im selling my Minitaur to grab this.

    I have the Sirin controlled by the Akai Force and I really like the combo. The SIrin sounds great and makes for easy synth transitions as a song builds. The small size is a huge benefit.

    I'm new to this channel - I was searching for info on the Sirin. Lots of channels present the waveform and FFT displays, but this one does it more nicely than any format I've seen before. Obviously it's throughout this video, but 16:07 is a particularly good example. Nice :)

    I got mine for $600 USD while in the States. Not mad at all. The EU release is €720 to start, which admittedly is WAY overpriced for a 2 osc mono, whether or not it's got the Moog warmth coming out of it. Honestly I bought the Monologue for €230 used and it's one of my favorites. It took a while to tame, it's generally WAY too easily aggressive in character. I just don't make that kinda 90s movie cheesy rave scene techno, thanks. But considering the sequencer, white noise and all, a far better value. That all said, I'm excited to own both and have them volley a bit in some fun sequences, but will probably use the Sirin for leads and lead-like bass lines vs. the Korg, and definitely for sine-y warm ambient tinkly stuff. The Korg DOES get some insane sub that remains in a lovely pocket and doesn't take over a mix. That's kinda what I've been using it for the most, tbh. Anyway, happy to own the Sirin, but it's got me craving more Moog now :-/

      It was limited manufacturing.This product not manufactured any more. Many Moog products are manufactured for certain time and then stopped. For example, the Moogerfooger Delay 104M is hard to find and it’s costs triple from the original cost when it was produced

  • @gladtobeangry
    @gladtobeangry 5 років тому +3

    I'm a bit underwhelmed by this thing. I know you always pay extra for the moog brand, but this sits very close to the price of the Sub Phatty, and it seems to have a lot less functionality than that. Let alone when you compare it to things like the arp odyssey module, or the minibrute 2s, or possibly things like the 0-coast, which are all more or less the same price. The Sirin seems a bit dull and conservative. I suppose it is a matter of taste and brand perception, and if you don't want a big bulky Sub Phatty in your setup, and you don't mind doing most of your editing from a computer, but you do want that trademark moog sound, this might be the ticket. I doubt I'm going to be that guy, but there's nothing wrong with how it sounds, and some people may not need more than a couple of nice moogey leads and basses.
