You guys absolutely need to hear her cover of the song "Everyone". It's an old Korean pop/gospel song from the 60s. It's got a mixture of English and Korean lyrics. She has said in interviews that that performance was the most difficult one she's ever had, and that's for very good reasons. The song is long and technically difficult. But also, the song really resonates with her on an emotional level. It's an absolutely incredible performance.
Need to do a live to all the masked singer ones of hers. Could then edit it way down into a highlight too. Because until you get into those you don't even know yet. She can be seen moving the Microphone away from her mouth to avoid distorting the sound. This is testified to by her performances outside, in all kinds of weather, when the wind can be heard blowing into her Microphone. Pitch? Sohyang's Pitch is so perfect and her Power so pronounced that she delivers those sounds in a Mixed Voice. Want proof? Search for some videos that were recorded on a Cell Phone or a Fan Cam and listen closely. I doubt that, in her era, Whitney cared if producers used some enhancements 'cause she did not have perfect Pitch. Who was born with it? Only Sohyang. I know. In this intimate gift from Sohyang, she is at times; cute, glamorous, beautiful, playful, intense, dramatic, friendly, happy, serious, connected, and energetic. She had this one performance when she was going through recurring pneumonia a few years back. Her voice wasn't what it used to be and she said later she was thinking about quitting singing altogether. During this time, for what could have been her last public appearance, she agreed to participate in the same TV show and the song she chose was 'You Raised Me Up'. Due to her illness, her voice was kind of raspy and she struggled at times, but this was one of the most inspiring performances she'd ever put on. It's a 7 minutes of emotional roller-coaster of a song. It seemed someone above was looking after her and cheering her on that night. If you haven't yet, you should listen to it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Pitch? Sohyang's Pitch is so perfect and her Power so pronounced that she delivers those sounds in a Mixed Voice. Want proof? Search for some videos that were recorded on a Cell Phone or a Fan Cam and listen closely.
I doubt that, in her era, Whitney cared if producers used some enhancements 'cause she did not have perfect Pitch. Who was born with it? Only Sohyang.

Sorry, she does not “easily outperform Whitney Houston”. Whitney in her prime was absolutely stupendous. That said, I am grateful to have found this fabulous voice. There has been an empty place to be filled since Whitney destroyed her own voice. I do think Sohang is the greatest female singer I’ve heard in a very, very long time! HOORAY!!!!! The greatest out there today! Looking forward to hearing much more!!!

David Foster was kind of peeved at Whitney when she died, saying her voice was shot. Left unsaid was how Whitney partied her life away on Bobby Brown and drugs. Profoundly sad. 😟

Gentlemen, You just reacted to my personal favorite, so I will gush unapologetically. The other fans will say 'OK, here he goes again', but anyway: You have seen her before, so what did you expect? She does her own arrangements. Watching Sohyang IS a unique form of beautiful agony. She reaches out and utterly captivates you until she lets you go. A studio recording is great, but she MUST be seen and watched carefully. She is also a talented actress (The Sound of Music) who tells the story with every song. If you take your eyes away, you WILL miss something amazing.
She takes on a sassy stage presence for this Classic song - when she tugged up that slinky blue gown and slid across the stage like a sultry Blues Singer in a 1940s movie, I melted into my chair. In this intimate gift from Sohyang, she is at times; cute, glamorous, beautiful, playful, intense, dramatic, friendly, happy, serious, connected, and energetic. All of that, while in absolute control over her voice, the musical arrangement, the stage, and the audience. It is beginning to dawn on you that there IS no one like our lady Sohyang. Welcome. By the way, her belt buckle is embossed with the word POWER. Fitting, is it not?

My favorite singer on this planet, So Hyang! (There may be a singer on another planet that I may like as much but haven't heard yet, but I highly doubt it). She is a vocal beast, and a big hearted human.

Yes, she is Celine, Whitney, Mariah all rolled into one petite and yet powerful body! She also has so much heart and passion like Lara Fabian! She was born to be a singer!!!
She had this one performance when she was going through recurring pneumonia a few years back. Her voice wasn't what it used to be and she said later she was thinking about quitting singing altogether. During this time, for what could have been her last public appearance, she agreed to participate in the same TV show and the song she chose was 'You Raised Me Up'. Due to her illness, her voice was kind of raspy and she struggled at times, but this was one of the most inspiring performances she'd ever put on. It's a 7 minutes of emotional roller-coaster of a song. It seemed someone above was looking after her and cheering her on that night. If you haven't yet, you should listen to it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
So Hyang the Heavenly Diva is always so much fun to watch and listen to. You guys are amazing as well. Thank you for another great reaction to our Queen.

There is often a defining moment in a video. Here I gotta give it to "But the tone!" episode...LOL. You are so right about "not just the range" comment. However, this reaction will forever be the "Skull Tinkle" video, especially when the tinkle turned into a tremor as Sohyang ascended the scale with the key change.

You must react to Everyone but it MUST have ENG SUBs! Don't even think about doing it without. There is a Vimeo version and at least one other. This is about 7 minutes of masterpiece. Even So Hyang agrees that this was her most difficult performance. I don't think she ever sang it again, and I don't think she should. This performance is enough to stand as a monument to excellence and is more than enough to last for eternity.
